by racy poll to you mean because it has to do with sex or because you sell chocolate vaginas only???...what about vanilla vaginas??? i see a potential lawsuit here

you dont think college kids die everyday too???from binge drinking..drunk driving acidents..drug abuse..natural causes...whatever...my point is you can die just as easily walking out your door as being in the military.. i served 7 years in the army and personally witnessed one death..non related to military action...ive seen more death since i got out...vast majority of soldiers over the years never even come close to seeing combat...that actually becomes a problem at times because you get to a point where the entire military has no combat experience whatsoever...then if you have to go war you have no experienced leaders... so im of the opinion that your life can be derailed just as easily at college , work , at play as in the military

how much would it suck if detroit ends up winning the division again before we do??

its interesting that you said "I'm not saying let 6 year olds watch porn"...what happens if the next guy that comes along and not only says walking around naked is ok but i see nothing wrong with a 6 year old watching porn??...he might say your view is antiquated and irresponsible...its all about where you are gonna draw the line...
-
you can end up dying in college too...it wouldnt surprise me at all if the risk was greater in college than in the military

thanks jason...unfortunately i think i could stay away for decades and the sox would still be doing things the same way...but thanks for the welcome

How do you rank kw as a gm compared to other gm's
baggio202 replied to Dsavmonster's topic in Pale Hose Talk
after the 2000 season kenny williams took over a 95 win team with a 35 million dollar payroll and baseball america's number one ranked farm system...3 plus years later and what do we have to show for it???... he got the job primarily on the work he had done in building that farm system in to the number one system in baseball ahead of minor league player development...but look at the results from that farm system he built...it was all smoke and mirrors...the only position player left that looks like like might develop is joe crede..and the starting pitching , which was supposed to be the strongpoint produced buehrle (who at the time wasnt even a prospect and ended up coming out of no where) kip wells who was traded away by the said GM who help develop him...josh fogg (see kip wells)..garland is marginal at best...wright is less than marginal.. i hope im wrong but i dont see the sox doing anything special until a quality , experienced GM is hired who knows how to build a team on a tight budget...or if reinsdorf sells the team to an owner that will spend money to win...but the combination of tight purse strings and williams have zero experience has proved to be what most would think it would be looking at the situation objectively...a complete disaster... -
there are pro and cons on this question but i voted yes... one big problem is an army that is made up of draftees is never as motivated as one that is strickly volunteer...our preparedness and professionalism as soldiers is exponetionally better now than it was during the vietnam or any other era...so if we did institute a draft i see that as a major problem and something would have to be done to ensure our moral didnt suffer... but i think the positives outweigh the one big negative listed above...putting aside all the arguements listed above in others posts, which were very good on both sides, i feel we all have a responsibility to sacrifice a little of all the benefits we have recieved (alot of which has been paid by the blood of many great americans who came before us to give us all the opportunities that most take for granted nowadays) to ensure the country stays strong and prosperous...15 months to 2 years of service in the military would not permanently derail anyone from acheiving their goals in life...i would tend to argue that it probably would help most in the long run...there is a reason why most employers give preference to ex- military..you learn real leadership and teamwork....things you cant learn out of a book in college...

is he....wonder who im thinking of then..hmmm

what's sad is the marlins..being in the league only 10 years or so could win a world series , completely dismantle the team then rebuild and win another one in that time frame...meanwhile our beloved sox have been trying to build a winner for 87 years now.. guess we are traveling the "slow but not so sure" path
-
thanks nice to be back on line again
-
villafurte would be a nice pick up..especially if we somehow could move botch and move marte into the closers role (which he should have anyways)...villafuerte could then be the lefty set up man...
-
hey guys..finally got my computer problems fixed so im back for good..or bad depending on your view of me this is as good a post as any to jump back into the fray on i guess...my opinion of our bullpen is if billy botch is again the closer for 2004 i guess ill be checking out rex grossman at wherever the hell the bears are doing their summer camp this year instead of spending summer days at the cell... the bullpen ended up a disaster (damaso marte withstanding) last year and looks weaker to me going in this year...batten down the hatches boys cause we are in for some rough times

We should be in 1st place at the All-Star break

detroit is playing real good baseball right now...they are beating up on toronto...anytime we play a lou pinella coached team i worry...i never feel good about an upcoming series..supporting this franchise for 30 some years will do that to ya -
Heather, are you flirting?? ;-) Who me??? Nawwww! im telling carlos on you

"GOODBYE D'ANGELOSER." lmao..good one
-
good point..i dont think anyone would argue against that at this point in their respective careers...durham is the better player and should bring more in a trade
-
i wouldnt mind weaver...but i dont see us getting the best of the yankees on any deal...any team dealing with the yankees always seems to give up more then they get in return...i think id look elswhere first...we are not desperate for a starting pitcher right now so we can till the end of the month and maybe pull off a deal like oakland did with us when they got durham for practically nothing...i think if we wait a better deal will come along besides we really need another reliever...we could definately go that route alot cheaper and just keep garland and wright in the rotation
