  1. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 02:19 PM) You know of a trade the rest of us don't ? The way Youk was pulled from his game a few minutes ago, it appears that something will be announced very soon.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 02:17 PM) That sucked big time. Need a gapper or we lose. Whatever you say, Chicken Little.
  3. Just a terrible, terrible play on a 3-1 count.
  4. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 02:02 PM) No question. We have yet to see him once look rattled. Downright Buehrlesque in this regard.
  5. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 01:56 PM) Q just battles.....battles......& battles. He has a GREAT mindset for a pitcher & he is ONLY 23. Diamond in the rough up to this point. This alone may make him viable.
  6. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 01:52 PM) Nice to see Beck up over. 250 As of this moment, we may now have 7 regulars OPSing over 700. That should be enough to not lose so many of these low-scoring affairs.
  7. Yeah, good pitch, but ya gotta wonder if Paulie's playing through something with his wrist, in a case where we'd all be better off with him resting.
  8. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) Speaking of which, Dunn's just not seeing it right now. Closer, anyway.
  9. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 01:41 PM) Something is up with de aza because he is just staring at meat Speaking of which, Dunn's just not seeing it right now.
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 12:15 PM) Suck it Braun, Quetzalcoatl used steroids too! Did he? Was not aware.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 12:13 PM) It's hard to believe that everyone has already forgot that this guy almost certainly used steroids Not the place for this, but I still wonder, with all the physical breakdowns of their top prospects, etc., if that org doesn't still have a culture of PEDs.
  12. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 12:10 PM) Youk up....let's see how he looks after being out the last 3 games. Lucky hit. Now they'll be asking for Mitchell AND Floyd.
  13. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 11:09 AM) The schedule for the next few weeks is Road intensive. After today's game, we are on the road for 6, home for 6, All Star break and the on the road for 10. Back home for 3 and back on the road. In other years, that would be cause for worry. This team seems more focused on the road.
  14. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 10:50 AM) More from Peter Abraham: The Red Sox are still in the process of trying to trade Kevin Youkilis, several major league sources said. But after being held out of the lineup for three days, he is batting sixth and playing third base today. "It's not directly related to anything other than than trying to win a ballgame and keep him as sharp as possible." Bobby Valentine said. Will Middlebrooks is the DH as David Ortiz gets a day off. The White Sox, Indians and Dodgers remain in the mix for Youkilis with another team — as yet unknown — also involved. In the latest twist, the third baseman's brother has taken to Twitter to criticize Valentine and the city of Boston. "Love that #teamyouk may be changing sox real soon. #Chicago is better town anyways!" wrote Scott Youkilis, a restaurant owner in San Francisco. He also wrote, "Bobby V is a joke." Valentine also owns a restaurant. Maybe the two warring parties can have a cook off. Aaron Cook can be the judge. Appreciate the silliness. Good one. And speaking of desperate, the BoSox seem to be, trotting this should-be-NL-only-pitcher-at this-point -in-his-career out today.
  15. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 10:43 AM) Sean McAdam of CSNNE.com hears from a major league source that the Dodgers, White Sox, Indians, Braves, and a fifth team are in on Youkilis. A second source says that the Pirates and Diamondbacks are no longer involved. A source with knowledge of the talks indicated that Boston is focused on getting the best return available, whether its in the form of prospects or current major leaguers. Per MLBTraderumors A Red Sox employee, no doubt.
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 09:49 AM) 5.70 ERA, 1.73 WHIP in 10 starts in the National League this season. No thank you, I'd rather take my chances with Axelrod or Castro. This. He'll get torched. It was a nice novelty watching him here in Colorado early this season, but ONLY the Rockies need to be THAT desperate for pitching. He done.
  17. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 09:26 AM) Destroy. Awesome. Is that sheath in front used for wiping off excess penis blood? Must be.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 24, 2012 -> 02:48 AM) Why do you guys care how the Marlns are doing? It's a lack of class IMO to root against Ozzie Guillen. I guess he's the scapegoat even though our team this year is as dysfunctional as ever. You guys blame Ozzie for the Sox play this year yet? Patently wrong. We have a big hole at 3B, which is the only thing that's kept us from 1st place, and not by much. We no longer have a hole at Mgr., because RV actually gives a damn and will learn from his mistakes.
  19. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 09:49 PM) I only got into baseball last year so I have no nostalgia for those red uniforms. They make me think of the boston red sox. I followed the sox a little as a kid in the 90's but they were wearing black back then. Ahhh. If you look at a retrospective of Sox unis through the ages, ours have changed more than any other team. Quite a bit of it has to do with Bill Veeck, who never stopped marketing. Red, Black and many shades of Blue have been the primary color for the Sox at various times in their history.
  20. QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 09:44 PM) I'd rather stay away from him, but in Kenny we trust amirite? KW's streakier than Tank, but he's due for a good one.
  21. QUOTE (wsgdf_2 @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 09:43 PM) Youk's brother: https://twitter.com/#!/chefyouk "Love that #teamyouk may be changing sox real soon. #Chicago is better town anyways!" veddy, veddy interesting
  22. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 09:32 PM) Oh God, is it gonna be an ugly sunday lineup in those ugly red uniforms tomorrow? lame Wait, you don't like the 71-75 throwbacks? I thought everyone did. Makes me want to get a Melton, Allen, or yes, even a Bahnsen jersey. I totally agree with the poster who suggested the powder blue road unis from the same period on away Sundays.
  23. A's and Giants having longest bottom of 9th ever. And it ends as I type.
  24. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 09:12 PM) That ball did seem to come off that wall harder than expected. Kind of a crazy bounce. First error for Tank. Have to say I'm pleasantly surprised with his competence in the field, and his baserunning instincts seem to be solid as well.
