  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 03:19 PM) Back spasms This is a good excuse to DL him and get a brief look at Jordan Danks, no?

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) If De Aza got hurt, I think they'd be tempted. I'd like to see him on the 25 man playoff roster - can't have too many PR's for a short series. Also has left-side pop. Not getting too ahead of myself, am I?
  3. Mitchell 2-2 already and B-Ham cruising. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...biraax_mobaax_1 I think we have a real OF prospect again. Yay!
  4. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 10:58 AM) I'm not a fan of taking the bat out of Jordan Danks' hands when he was finally hitting his stride. He's not too old to be a prospect, might as well let him hit the rest of the season down in AAA Three years in AAA, he's finally figured it out, or maxed out as he should, but still has the glaring K weakness. There's nothing left for him to prove down there, IMO. More AB's won't get him closer to handling MLB pitching - he needs to learn here now, going forward. JMO. I think Jordan's a bench player, but still an upgrade over Dome in several ways. Can play all three OF positions/has much more pop.
  5. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 11:18 AM) I feel a big game for Lexi today. I'm calling for a 3/4 day with a HR. Sounds good to me. Verlander in trouble early. The mortality of he and Papa Fatass this year will go a long way toward making us division champs.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 09:26 AM) Paul Konerko, who is hitless in 10 at-bats in this weekend series, is not in the Chicago White Sox lineup Sunday for the finale against the Seattle Mariners. Adam Dunn is at first base, with Dayan Viciedo as the DH. Leadoff hitter Alejandro De Aza also gets a rest, with Brent Lillibridge taking his spot. It is also a day of rest for third baseman Orlando Hudson. The lineup behind Chris Sale: Lillibridge, cf Beckham, 2b Dunn, 1b Viciedo, DH Rios, rf Fukudome, lf Ramirez, ss Flowers, c Escobar, 3b Sale, p Can we just DFA Dome if he has an O'fer today? I feel like we're going to try too hard to get something out of this guy, who has nothing left, when we should be getting a look at Jordan Danks.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 06:10 PM) Time to pull him. Viciedo play way too deep with Chone up. This s*** always seems to happen to the Sox at home in extras. You're right, better positioning saves that run.
  8. My new sig, once I can figure that stuff out again.
  9. It's our year if that gets us the win.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 08:09 PM) Wow, very bad luck there for Beckham. Beautiful swing though. He's getting there.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 01:34 PM) Surprise, Surprise: ADA cf Gordo 2b Dunn dh Paulie 1b Rios rf AJP c Tank lf Missile ss O-Dawg 3b JFP p It's a rather good lineup already (so sweet to be saying this on June 1), and if we can ever get something from the 9 hole, it'll go to another level. I'd love Youk, but there's gonna be enough suitors that he'll be too expensive, and I doubt we have what they want.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 08:58 AM) It's looking like a sh*tty night for a baseball game, but a night that will allow a baseball game! The chance of rain is listed as 20% and it says it'll be windy and 61 degrees. Not like 38 and cold drizzle. No excuses folks. The PeavDog eats excuses for breakfast.
  13. I think he's going to start taking walks, now that pitchers are realizing he's bonafide dangerous. He'll surprise many of us with a "newfound patience", but he's really showing me right now that he's a smart hitter - he's adjusted his approach with 2 strikes and is striking out far, far less of late. He's smart enough to take what the pitchers will give him - and they'll be giving it soon. I believe he will adjust and improve, and OBP will be an afterthought, sooner, rather than later.
  14. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 30, 2012 -> 03:09 PM) @MDGonzales De Aza expects to play Friday. AJ on plunking by Cobb: "It was your basic 0-0 pitch." Great news, also hilarious by AJP.
  15. Nobody does that move better than AJ. Former hockey player, true story.
  16. QUOTE (kane0730 @ May 30, 2012 -> 12:56 PM) Lillibridge has terrible instincts. He may be overanxious from benchrot, though I won't come close to blaming Robin for for riding the multiple hot bats and keeping the same lineup..
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2012 -> 12:52 PM) ADA gonna be ok? I can see a brawl in this game before it's over. Bad blood is thick in the air.
  18. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 30, 2012 -> 12:26 PM) Glad Sox have off day Thursday. Actually love the way this is being managed, going to N. Jones. Let 'em feed on some cheese for a couple innings and we'll get to the back end to close this thing out like nothing happened.
  19. Smell that, boys? that's first place
  20. Ya gotta love these stadiums with tons of foul ground when your team's protecting the lead - or when the opposing pitcher makes an errant throw on a pick-off attempt.
  21. QUOTE (11and1 @ May 29, 2012 -> 06:16 PM) Why not go for the ultimate psycho-delic experience and pair Jimmy Piersall with the Hawk? That's entertainment! A fight in the booth on the first night. Sure, why not?
  22. Na na hey hey! take a shower, Shields
