  1. does anyone here honestly think chris getz is a better option at 2B than beckham to start the season, and is a better (more capable) baseball player at this point in time? seriously, there's really no reason why Getz should be given a shot over Beckham, not one good reason and before someone says "what if Beckham struggles and has to be sent down, and hurts his confidence?" my response if Beckham struggles, getz is DEFINITELY going to struggle because Beckham > Getz
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 12, 2009 -> 04:26 PM) Is wasserman still in? The Royals announcers said German came in. you're right, it's german wasserman was pulled after recording 2 outs
  3. first pitch swinging, wonder what kind of pitch it was
  4. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 10, 2009 -> 11:28 PM) I agree with all of this except for the part where it definitely can happen, and should not be ruled out. If Lillibridge starts hitting, he’s a fantastic option as a leadoff man. how many of you think brent lillibridge is going to all of the sudden figure it out, and then translate this new-found hitting ability (in spring training) to the major leagues as a professional leadoff hitter yeah, i'll go ahead and put my money on it definitely not happening
  5. a lot of things are going to have to go right for us to win the division again, so i figure why not experiment with what a lot of us here think might be good choices starting CF: alexei starting 2B: getz starting SS/LeadOff: beckham you could probably flip-flop getz/beckham 1/2, both could be exciting to watch at the top of the lineup for sure
  6. I just want to say that there's no f***ing way BRENT LILLIBRIDGE is going to be our leadoff hitter. Seriously that simply cannot and will not happen. It'll either be Owens or Getz, and I'm hoping to god it isn't Owens Gee, he's hitting .194, with 4 SINGLES and 0 stolen bases on the spring. Wow, I just got a huge sense of deja vu, I could've sworn I'd seen this before
  7. well, one thing to be said, we're playing better baseball (going by win/loss record) this spring than in past springs
  8. Danks getting pounded. Cleveland just getting more confident about facing us when the season starts, they always own us anyways
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2009 -> 03:27 PM) So.....What position does Betemit play well? Its not SS and not 3B so far. Is none an option? This guy blows.
  10. 4-0 I can see me turning this game off sooner rather than later, I don't like watching blowouts
  11. I can see Cleveland winning this game like 12-2 or something
  12. Danks doesn't look good today at all facing right-handed guys, his location is all over the place
  13. i guess the best way to teach someone how to say alexei's name is that it's prounced Alice-A
  14. QUOTE (Cubano @ Mar 7, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) I did not watch the game. How did he look like with the bat? Did he swing at bad pitches? Thanks most of his at-bats were not shown, most of the broadcast was the rangers broadcasters doing player and front-office interviews during a couple of Dayan's ABs, he did not have any hits today though, no K's either
  15. pretty good game, even though we lost, but we don't really know anymore than what we knew before the game konerko is gonna take forever to heat up, macdougal is brutally bad bright spot (to me) is seeing Dayan play a great 3B, making some above-average plays
  16. another great play by Dayan, impressing me with his glove
  17. QUOTE (daa84 @ Mar 7, 2009 -> 03:45 PM) what a boring game...offensively getz was the only one who really looked good...the 2b battle will be intriguing apparently lillibridge is sick with flu-like symptoms, unfortunate
  18. QUOTE (Cubano @ Mar 7, 2009 -> 03:32 PM) Was Guillen watching? After 1 or 2 games, he started saying his defense is subpar and this and that. He was just preparing the kid for the news about being sent to the minors. This happens not only to Viciedo. It happens every year to many players. When you have minor league options or you are the first one to arrive, usually you are send down. It is time to get something in return for all the time and money the Sox have spent in Fields. Viciedo's problem right now is that Fields is outplaying him offensively, Dayan needs to pick it up a bit if he wants to stand a chance I like what I've seen from Dayan, he can definitely play that position adequately
