Amen brotha.
I understand what game threads are, the emotion of the game, but today made me laugh. Falling behind 2-0 so quickly brought out the venom. It made me think that to some of us diehards, the only acceptable game is to jump out to an early lead and keep it.
Falling behind 2-0 to a s*** team like KC had some jumping off the building and kicking the dog. It's like they couldn't envision outslopping a horrible team like KC in our own park.
Criticism is great but it's funny to read the venom when things aren't going well for our Sox.
I ripped Jimmy for his leaving two runners on base when we had the 3-2 lead but I also prefaced my blast by saying, "not to bag on Jimmy too much, I like him" but ...
try to keep a level head, here.
thome has been about as unclutch all year as anyone could be, it's not wrong to be angry when it took thome 3 AB's with RISP before driving in a run against a terrible royals pitcher who had a BAA from both sides of about .300, they were rightfully frustrated
yeah, thome drove in 3 runs with that blast against whatshisname, but after seeing thome do what he did in his first 2 or 3 AB's with RISP, you have to draw the line that, yeah.. it's understandable to be pissed off at him in those at bats
he came through regardless later in the game, which pretty much nullified his previous attempts, which is all that matters really
there are a lot of fans of the game who get caught up in the moment, and there's nothing wrong with it, it doesn't make them any less of a fan
the fact that there are those here who like to rub it in their faces shows a bit less class in my opinion, i mean... where's the point in that? they know they perhaps acted wrongly, no need for the childish behavior afterwards
just my opinion (i've never rubbed anything in anyone's face on any sox board that I visit. I just don't see the point)
