  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 09:14 PM) We just need more hits. Walks is great and all, but unless you have Quentin getting HBP with the bases loaded, you need to be able to drive runs in. I would bet we lead the league in fewest amounts of hits that scored runs in the past 3 seasons that weren't homers. actually we probably have the fewest hits per earned run of any team in the last 2-3 years, someone should check that out of its possible lol
  2. throw strikes Boone and you'll be ok, the hitters will get themselves out.
  3. QUOTE (JDsDirtySox @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 09:10 PM) Justin Verlander does good against us? lern2read:)
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 09:04 PM) That's interesting, as you look at the guys we've hit well lately, and we did it on the fastball....Niemann, E. Jackson, Ohlendorf Daniel Cabrera, Justin Verlander, Jeremy Guthrie. Hard throwing righties don't do so well against us, because of our one-dimensional approach. Look fastball, See fastball, Hit fastball.
  5. The book is out on the Chicago White Sox offense. Throw off-speed pitches, and you'll absolutely DOMINATE this lineup. P e r i o d . How can anyone argue it, seriously. Andy Sonnanstine, Boof Bonser, Mike Mussina, etc.
  6. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 08:22 PM) Floyd need to just drill somebody right here ... ... like his own hitters. or himself.
  7. ball ball ball ball ball ball ball ball ball pathetic.
  8. here comes the big inning for the snack cakes.
  9. nice, an 0-2 b**** hit. unreal. edit: 2-0 twins, our offense looks so anemic, i'm not going to let them use the Double Header followed by an 11 inning game as an excuse because they looked like this for the last week and a half. this sucks.
  10. this is not a lineup you want to keep walking guys, almost every walk you give up is the equivalent of a double, ffs.
  11. Gavin could be at 60 pitches before this inning ends.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 07:59 PM) Young's dangerous, but Mauer isn't? Mauer won't score runs by himself, he'll drizzle you with singles and doubles (and rarely, triples), but it's Morneau and Young IMO that are their most dangerous hitters
  13. this twins lineup isn't going to destroy you offensively gavin, just throw strikes and let your D work behind you, only hitters you need to be careful of really are Morneau and Young (I'm not listing Mauer here, I don't think he's that dangerous)
  14. possibly the worst person in the twins lineup you wanna walk to lead off an inning, come on GAVIN.
  15. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 04:39 PM) Why would it be? It's your contract, and your career. i could think of quite a few reasons why one might frown upon it, one being that the GM is, in his mind, trying to improve his ball club by trading you, and you're denying the trade is keeping him from doing that.
  16. when your 10/5 kicks in as a player, does it look badly upon your character if you deny a trade? is that generally frowned upon?
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 07:26 AM) a little old from the Yankees series, but still freaking hilarious. Wow, LOL, amazing.
  18. Blown save now standing on 3rd, this feels like another loss coming up.
  19. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 04:28 PM) well that sucked. hopefully Bobby can have a great inning. Bobby can't save games against this team. Blown save standing on 2nd base. With 0 outs.
  20. i have a feeling our batting averages will start to rise once we start facing pitchers that we're familiar with. if you look at all of the games we've played so far this year, we've faced a plethora of rookies or guys that we've only seen maybe once before. we haven't really done that terrible, either.
  21. cabrera better not be hitting 2nd tomorrow, what a joke.
