QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 10:30 PM) it's been a long 3 weeks...atleast I was merely cautiously optimistic You're a Buffalo fan and they started out 4-0, I wouldn't expect you not to be optimistic.. I just like picking on wsb for his crazy claims.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 12:13 AM) I bet the OU/TT game on the 22nd will be higher scoring than when those schools meet up in basketball this season. Maybe, OU isn't that impressive against good teams and have in recent years been coming up short in those shoot out type games.. And not that this means anything but.. Texas beat OU, then scraped out a win against Ok St at home.. then lost to Texas Tech in Lubbock, who just PUMMELED Ok St in Lubbock I have a feeling Texas Tech will beat OU comfortably (Not by like 36 or anything, but 10-14) Hope Texas Tech keeps on winning, because they are a joy to watch -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 11:59 AM) I wouldn't go that far. Well to me there hasn't, obviously everyone isn't going to feel the same.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 03:28 PM) Anquan Boldin and TJ Houshmandzadeh aren't freaks of nature either. So, I'll take either of them over Marshall. Uh, Boldin is like 6'1 220 and one of the most physically imposing WR's in the league.. should prolly pick someone else as an example

I also want to throw out that I went and saw Role Models tonight and it was f***ing hilarious I don't know why that movie didn't get more build up because it was damn funny

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 12:56 AM) I got as far as the one with Dolph Lungren, was that 3? After that it got pretty silly. The original is a classic. No, thats 4 Hearts on Fire montage, greatest montage ever

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 07:40 PM) I'm old enough to remember watching 'Rocky' when it first came out. I've watched it two other times, most recently a few days ago on AMC. If you can look past the tough guy rah-rah BS, at it's core, that film is a love story... and damn good one. Talia Shire should have won the Oscar that year. Rocky IV, greatest movie of all time

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 03:56 PM) The movie had its moments for sure, but I think that it lacked character development. i really didnt care if Zack and Miri got together in the end. Justing Long (Mac) made a great appearance... Brandon Routh looked out of place, bad cameo I don't understand how anyone couldn't see the movie would come down to being about Zack and Miri getting together (not sexual but relationship) I knew that was coming before I even saw it

Some of you guys are crazy, not only was last nights show great.. but all of them have been There hasn't been a single bad episode

and P.S. Marshall is 3rd in the NFL in receptions and 5th in yards even with missing 1 game, maybe there is just something you don't like about him personally? That, along with what he did last year (102 rec 1325 yrds) Dude is good.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 10:41 PM) Deal. I'll take Andre Johnson and Brandon Marshall, and you can have Wes Welker and Kevin Curtis. BA ZZZZZZZZZING!

I would be shocked if anyone claims Hall off waivers There is a clause in his contract that if he gets injured this season under that contract he gets like $16 million guaranteed Hell prolly pass through and just become a full FA

QUOTE (BobDylan @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 03:54 PM) While I'm not a fan of the Wii (was a previous owner of the system), it has done an amazing job reaching the demographic that the PS3 and 360 cannot. When I first had the system, I played it with a few people who don't like video games and they had a blast and ended up buying the system. At that time, I also had a PS3 which I showed them, and while I was "wowed" more by the PS3, they didn't care. They were astounded by the graphics, but when I put the controller in their hands, they didn't get it and didn't care. If you're a gamer or even an occasional gamer, the Wii is not for you. The games aren't especially deep, but they offer interaction with the games that PS3 and 360 don't. I'll tell you this: if the Wii had the power of either PS3 or 360 or even just the same game developers behind it, there is no doubt in my mind that I'd own a Wii. But Nintendo didn't go that way and they haven't since Sony and Microsoft stole the show. They've searched for other ways to reach different demographics, and with the Wii, have ultimately ran the show, while Sony and Microsoft battle for the people who will always be there for the market. Besides, I think the Wii is setting a new shape for gaming. While the technology will certainly be refined and improved, I don't think controllers will be the same when the PS3 and 360 reach the end. Interaction with games is an incredible thing. Little Big Planet is another, though different, example of this--and on the surface, that is a game for 11 year olds, but deeper, it's quite sophisticated. The Wii doesn't tap into my gamer needs, but it's not a childish system. It deserves some amount of respect for taking the risk that it did and introducing people who don't care for video games to them. That said, until they try to reach the people Sony and Microsoft are after, I'll never buy it again. You pretty much said it, people who aren't big into gaming would prolly like the Wii a lot because its not like a typical video game system. Its like, cool I get to use my hands to do things and its like im really bowling or swinging a bat, this is fun. Little kids love the Wii, people who don't play true gaming type games love the Wii.. its fun when you have a bunch of people playing. Now for true gamers, im sure they also think its fun when you have a bunch of people playing. Thats not always going to happen and when you are sitting there by yourself its not that great in my opinion. I would much rather be playing something on 360 or PS3 than having a Wii just for the sake of having fun when there is a bunch of people over.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 12:14 PM) I know, and I dont really care what the bad things are about the system(you hear me BobDylan?) I enjoy it, it is relatively inexpensive, and when there are a lot of people involved there are some pretty fun party games. IMO Nintendo needs to get over themselves and let the 3rd party developers do their thing, and also bring in the Nintendo brand games. For whatever reason Nintendo just cannot let 3rd party developers have any freedom, and it drives a lot of them away. What I want is a sequel to Eternal Darkness, that game was so much fun, the insanity meter (and the results after you let the insanity meter drop) was awesome I wish there was a way I could play Zelda on my 360 just for how great it would look.. Instead I had to play it on Wii with its s***ty graphics, still a great game though
-
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 08:27 AM) Dont forget about meeeeeeeee! Its fine, you can have your PS3 games and I will have my Wii, Turbographx, NeoGeo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo, Gamecube, and N64 games. There are still plenty of fun Wii games that arent just for kids, but I fully admit that the system incorporates kids more than the others. I wasn't bashing Nintendo, the N64 is still one of my favorite systems of all time. I was just talkin bout the Wii. I also wasnt bashing anyone who has a Wii, I was just simply saying my opinion on it.
-
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 12:37 AM) That's not how research works... I'm just saying it's an extremely flawed and downright wrong opinion then, given that the Wii has single handily changed the industry by attracting an astounding amount of older gamers. If you enjoy games on other systems better, fine, fair enough. Hardly makes the Wii for "11 year olds". But I guess that makes me a Nintendo fan boy, even though I've made it pretty clear the PS3 is my favorite console this generation. I called you a Nintendo fanboy based simple on how many times I have seen you talk about Nintendo products/games in this thread and you are pretty much the only one I have seen like that, hence, why I brought up your love for Nintendo.
-
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 3, 2008 -> 11:42 PM) Can we cut it with this crap? There are plenty of older Wii owners on this board. Statistically the average Wii owner is older than the 360 owner and the Wii has more units within the 18-24 demographic than either PS3 of 360. No we cant cut this crap I don't give a s*** if there are older Wii owners on this board that doesn't change MY opinion on the system. Of course statistically the average Wii owner is older than the others because I don't think it goes down on the purchase as a 10 year old bought the system. Im sure there are plenty of people who own both systems just because most gamers are like that. Doesn't change the fact that I think its for little kids and the more enjoyable games to me are on the other platforms. Just because you are a Nintendo fanboy doesn't mean im gonna change my mind about what I think of the Wii. If you like the Wii, more power to you I already said that I liked a few games on it.

QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Nov 3, 2008 -> 07:17 PM) Hey I don't feel like reading 102 pages of this. I just received a Wii as a belated wedding gift. If I had a preference I would have wanted a 360, but a gift is a gift and I'm still grateful for it. I'm sure there are some fun games for this system, I just have no idea what they are. Wii sports (the game that came with the console) was definitely not fun. In the past I've enjoyed these games: Halo CE for Xbox (not H2 or H3) MVP Baseball 05 for Xbox Goldeneye for N64 MarioKart for N64 Starcraft Broodwar for PC Suggestions for decent Wii games? Wii is not as fun as people make it sound, its for little kids.. the games you listed you wont find for Wii, at least not at the same enjoyable level that you would on a 360 or PS3 MarioKart is a good game for Wii.. Zelda: Twilight Princess was awesome as well. I don't like the sports games on it, but you can buy the 64 games and play them through the Wii so I guess that could help you out there
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 3, 2008 -> 12:31 PM) Nope... Wii. What a mistake that is The Wii is cool... if you're 11 I have a 360 and a Wii and if all I had was the Wii ide prolly never play video games. Zelda is great, Mario Kart is fun, all the Wii Sports games are cool.. but if you are saying you wanna sell your 360 so you can get a Wii, mistake

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 1, 2008 -> 09:32 PM) It is actually kind more scary to see him run. I mean if this was a true remake of FT13th, it wouldn't be Jason in the movie. I don't know how it is a straight up remake because of that.. It may not be a sequel but I dont think that means it has to be a remake of the first one, could just be a new one that is just dated back closer to when it all started.. Or it could be a remake and they just omitted that original ones and are doing it their own way, I dont f***ing know

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Nov 1, 2008 -> 10:53 PM) Yeah, but there's divisions in college football. You have the elite, the great teams, the good teams and so on. Tech has raised their level to a great program right now, and have a chance to become elite for a year if they can keep it together. Sucks that they are gonna be losing Harrell and Crabtree after this year, but they have a solid recruiting class so far. -

QUOTE (rangercal @ Nov 1, 2008 -> 10:44 PM) "good" gets you to the Insight Bowl. I can see them in the title game this year though. Ok well having a winning season every year and going to Bowls every season still doesn't make them an impostor program.. they have been good for a while now I think you just tossed them in there because of how much Nebraska blows as a way to defend that Texas Techs downfall has been playing the elite teams and losing in the Big 12, however this year they got Texas. I doubt that they can beat Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and then the Big 12 title game but I hope they do. Either way, they aren't impostors. Missouri and Kansas on the other hand, you are dead on with them.
