Without Frank OR Maggs (which is a given) in the lineup, we are not a formidable threat. Frank works counts, sees pitches, makes the pitcher work, jacks up his pitch total (IF FRANK DOESN'T START TODAY AGAINST LIMITED PITCH COUNT BECKETT THEN :fyou), and is just... the man. You could tell this offense is worthless without either in the lineup. Replace that with Konerko, who by all means is a good offensive player, he just isn't as good as Frank.

If Show can post these numbers out of the 5th spot, with limited action (aka skipping him on off days), then I'll be happy.

For what it's worth: I work at a White Hen, and we get this beef jerky product, and it either comes in a Sox BUcket or a Cubs bucket. The owner gives away the buckets to a list of people after all the jerky is sold. No one has requested any Cubs buckets, while there's a list of 5 people waiting for Sox buckets. I can feel the change, too!

I don't think I want to trade the "minor leaguer of the year" or whatever it was that he won so quickly. I'd really like to see what Borchard can do this year, so we can justify trading Reed and using Borch in center/right, if Maggs walks. But we do need a starting pitcher, and we do need to give something up. That's how it works. Hopefully, Reed isn't what we have to give up, but seeing the circumstances he might be what we have to give up...
