Disclaimer: I am not giving up on the team, I am just posting what I think. Ok, this team is looking pretty pathetic right about now. We're down 5-1, and everyone is swinging for the fences. What does a solo home run do for us? Just about nothing. Not one single base runner. It's pathetic. Even in the sweep versus the Twins, it was all home runs. A home run to tie it, a home run to win it. Those were more situational home runs though. We do NOT need home runs right now. I love seeing a bunch of base hits, walks, doubles and base stealing rather than 'swinging for the fences'. I am sick of it. I wish Manuel would have a meeting and just yell his ass off saying, "STOP SWINGING FOR THE DAMN FENCES!" Anyways, yes, this team does suck. Is this season over? It's more over than it was 2 weeks ago. Also I noticed we haven't been getting any help from the umpires. Bartolo was getting NONE of hit pitches called. This whole season is the definition of pathetic.
