  1. Boy oh boy, a lot of people are getting pissed off at you admins and mods lately. Hint hint, wink wink.
  2. How about this. No one pay attention to this game. And then root for the winner of this game to lose in the next game.
  3. The Denver Broncos - "Yeah, we know how to beat the Colts"
  4. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 01:41 PM) Marte isn't a sure thing? Marte had what many people called his 'worst' season last year, and he still had an ERA under 3.50... We're at a point right now where we have (IMHO) four solid relievers in Marte, Shingo, Vizcaino, and Hermanson, a couple of question marks with potential to put up solid numbers in Politte and Cotts, and then our long relief guy (who you hope to give you good innings) in Adkins/Diaz. I'd like to keep it that way... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly. We need this bullpen to remain intact if we want to go anywhere. We can live without Castillo if their price is Marte +.
  5. Hendrickson would be a nice PTBNL.
  6. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) and am even thinking about doing some on the down low at open mic nights on campus. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You gotta tell me some of your stuff that you talk about if you do do that, unless it's some of the stuff we've already chatted about.
  7. QUOTE(Hall of Famer @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 12:05 PM) Vertigo by U2 is probably the worst song that I've heard in the last 10 years. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> One, Two, Three, Fourteen! Hello, hello!
  8. Why the hell are people so quick to get rid of Marte??? He's our BEST reliever (except for last year). We can't count oN Hermanson, Vizcaino, or Politte to put up Marte numbers. There is no way in hell I trade Marte for more offense. Our bullpen would go from pretty damn good to OK.
  9. Still too much for someone who had an ERA of 4.85 in the National League. But, the INdians needed another pitcher.
  10. QUOTE(quickman @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) Zero, there are at the most 12,000 season ticket holders, at least that is there goal. Season ticket holders can buy additional tickets. I highly doubt they would buy out the park. So I am certain if you buy early you can get tickets. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Eh, I just figured they'd be difficult to get. I'm planning on getting some the day they start selling tickets.
  11. Are opening day tickets generally reserved for season ticket holders, or is it possible for someone like me to pick up a few? (Like 7 or 8).
  12. I love how it starts out all innocent and BANG! The f-bombs are dropping all over the place.
  13. Gotta be just one of them coincedences.
  14. I really liked Jamie Burke, but what needs to be done needs to be done.
  15. Methinks the Red Sox will pay Doug the 3 or 4 million he thinks he can get for it.
  16. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 03:23 AM) The night in 2003 we swept the Twins, I wasn't there but watching Paulie's HR in the 11th I think and Frank's in the 13th was too memorable to leave off this list. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There was only like 23,000 people at that game but it sounded like 50,000. I still cant' believe I actually got to see that game in person. We were riding such a big high... acquiring EVerett and Alomar and then beating the Twinks. Then a depressing slump.
  17. Japanball.com has info on all of Japans baseball teams and some have been compared to American teams. I've found the team that resembles us nicely, minus the cross-town rivalry, the Chunichi Dragons. The description: While the old Dragons usually won games because their hitters had just enough power to clear the short outdoor Nagoya Stadium fences, that strategy didn't work indoors because the Nagoya Dome's outfield dimensions matches those of any major league park. So Chunichi traded away their sluggers and concentrated on building a team that had solid pitching, good base-running and a line-up filled with contact hitters. The Dragons score just enough runs to keep their starting pitchers in the game. Hot-headed manager Senichi Hoshino, who helped create an ugly international incident by shoving first baseman Yasuaki Taiho into American umpire Mike DiMuro, who had been invited to umpire in Japan by the Central League . Hoshino also forbade his pitchers to apologetically tip their hats after drilling a batter. The trade of the sluggers and the reputation of being a thug team is what makes me see them as the White Sox of Japan.
  18. I'm all for Iguchi. If he has a good time here, maybe, just maybe, him and Shingo and their tales of how fun Chicago is will allow us a shot at that amazing Japanese pitcher. (Name forgotten)
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) Not so humble opinion.... Just being accurate. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahhhh. There's a new one every day. IGAHB
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) IMNSHO <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Some of these crazy acronyms are too much for me.
  21. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 06:56 PM) Maggs was hurt before the Garcia trade. We got Garcia on June 27th. Maggs missed about a month before the trade, then played 10 games after the trade in mid July and was done for the year. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maggs was on the 15 day DL and we all thought when he came back everything would be peachy. Guess not. Even without Maggs and Frank, I still thought we had a shot at it. I'm just crazy like that.
  22. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) Yeah and Girlie is so consistent right? :rolly <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  23. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) Not really, if you'd been around and see how we've folded the past few years, it was pretty damn predictable. Once Maggs was on the shelf, I don't think many gave the Sox a shot and rightfully so. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, but Maggs went down like a month and a half after we traded for Garcia. When we traded for him we were contending. Yeah, sure, they're history shows nothing but folding, but if you really thought that they were done when they traded for Garcia, then I'd have to question the fact that you're a White Sox fan.
  24. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) We weren't contending, we were pretending, like usual. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You know, it's really easy to say that when the season concludes.
  25. Bruce Levine seems pissed off about this. He was going on and on about him being a massive cancer. They had a clip of AJ talking and he said he never had a problem with any ChiSox players and that he has a lot of respect for them and that he also knows Frank and Buerhle.
