  1. Word up, Jay. I'm sick of this No Boras bulls***. Get over yourself, Jerry.
  2. Renteria is extremely clutch, every time I'd watch the ESPN highlights, he was knocking in important runs. He's the kind of guy I want.
  3. Jay Gibbons. Gibbons = Borchard
  4. Using guides to take all your pictures that would probably take a year to do...
  5. Oh, how I wish.
  6. I'd prefer we sign a player who can hit .290 throughout the whole year. Polanco didn't hit higher than .270 until August.
  7. Ah, the great thing we all call ignorance.
  8. I wouldn't expect to hear anything new, just another waste of time.
  9. I think it's funny imagining Lincoln just laughing at everything he says, especially when he's talking about the deaths at Gettysburg, and he's just laughing so much. I thought it was too long as well, but it deserved to be posted because I found it hilarious.
  10. Top Five Shmop Shmive. I could really give a flying crap about home runs these days. Have home runs helped us in the past? ALways one of the top 3 in home runs is this ballclub, but have we done anything with them? Is Konerko really the better hitter? It's obvious he's the better slugger, but is he the better hitter? He could be, he could not be. Using home runs to compare who is better or not should be a thing of the past. I've learned my lessons about home runs, and I've learned that they aren't half as great as people make them out to be.
  11. Any two hitters are comparable. The White Sox are looking for a grind-o-rific 2005 ballclub. SO let's compare the grindyness of Konerko and Gload. Gload is by far more grinder than Konerko. Just because they aren't the same mold player doesn't mean that they are not comparable, especially in the position the White Sox are in.
  12. Is he really? Look behind the stats. Do we need Konerko with Thomas and Lee already our big power hitters? Isn't Gload exactly what KW is looking for? A grinder, a guy who gets the job done and earns his paycheck?
  13. This needs to be done to find the general consensus. You approach a wall, a wall with two doors. One door says "Paul Konerko", the other says "Ross Gload". Set aside are some papers stating the obvious... Konerko: Loves the fastball, has trouble hitting breaking stuff. Slow. Inconsistent. Base-clogger. 35 HR/100 RBI guy. Fan favorite. Great guy. Right-y. Gload: Grinder. Not a lot of power but can spray the ball to all parts of the field. Nice range, nice defense, average speed, but not a base-clogger. Generally quiet and unknown by the common fan. Gets on base and works with the speed he has. Lefty. Be sure to set aside any of those "this is how our team would look if if traded Konerko", put all of that aside and just think: Which lineup would work for us better? One with Konerko, or one with Gload?
  14. I think you underestimate Gload way too much. You said earlier in this thread that he cannot replace Paulie. Well, that's obvious, but if we traded Paulie, we are not looking for an exact replica replacement. Put in Paulie's position in this lineup, Gload would hit 100 RBI easy. Home runs don't win World Series, that's been proven year in and year out. If Paulie is such a huge asset to this team, why haven't we done jack in the last five years? It's time to try something new, and Gload is the new. Everyone acts like they know everything about the White Sox and their payroll. Well, you don't. Kenny has said payrolls that they may have, but never have they said "We are NOT going over so-so amount of money". Why do you think three fastball hitters is better than two fastball hitters and a grinder? Your Red Sox have virtually no fastball hitters, most of your team are grinders, and you're telling me the White Sox would be fine with their 3-4-5 clogged with hit or miss hitters? Now, say more than "to each their own", and there's no need to say "Johnson would take up 1/4 of the payroll", really, who cares if he does? If he makes a difference he deserves all the money he gets. You said he's no longer a 16 million dollar pitcher and I laugh. Johnson 1) Puts butts in seats 2) Wins games 3) Finishes 2nd in the NL Cy Young race when he should have won it if it weren't for the godawful team behind him And more. Tell me why you think 3 hit or miss hitters is a good thing. Tell me why basket case Garland is a better thing than Randy Johnson.
  15. Dismantle the team? Garland is running out of time here, he's developing a reputation of being a basket-case. Some may sting from a trade of Paul Konerko, but we have a perfectly fine replacement in Ross Gload who is 100% more of a grinder and left-handed. Gload makes our lineup more scary than Konerko. If we end up with Grilli as a 5th starter, I would not mind a damn bit. He kept us in games. He pitched his ass off to prove something. After his first few shaky starts he really settled down and pitched like a 4th starter. If we end up with a Johnson Garcia Buerhle Contreras Grilli I think that would be swell. In my opinion, Grilli proved to me he can be a fifth starter if thats how it ends up. Konerko came up with some huge hits this year, but so did Gload. I recall Gload hitting Frankie Rodriguezes nasty curveball right down the right field line for a double. That impressed me so much. IN that sutuation, Konerko would have struck out or grounded out weakly. Paulie is a fastball hitter, Gload is an everything hitter. Lee and Thomas are fine as our fastball hitters, we do not need three.
  16. Why? I know you'd take him any day of the week on the Red Sox just because of him and Schillings comraderie in Arizona. Old or not, Randy Johnson is Randy Johnson and I'd take him as my ace any time, and so would any other major league team. Randy also thinks that he could go another four or five years, the credibility of his statement is questionable, but if he's determined, he'll do it, and if he ends up on the Sox, has a great season, and says "I'm good to go a few more years", then we have a good chance of re-signing him. But, Randy would not be the first pitcher to pitch in his mid-40's. He is also a CLASS ACT DELUXE. The man is one of the nicest you'd ever meet. My grandfather and grandmother met him when they lived in Arizona during the Diamondbacks title run, and they know for certain he'd hang up the cleats after his contract runs out if he knew he'd be ineffective due to injury. The guy still throws 95+, he still strikes out guys by the dozens, and he's still an ace.
  17. How exactly do I get them? Do I take a truck down there and forklift them in?
  18. Need some help helping Wu Zi Mu. The mission in his casino where you gotta go to the gravel pit (quarry) and get the explosives and then something... well I have no clue what to do with the explosives before they detonate. Any ideas?
  19. GTA Thread > this thread
  20. Snipers suck dick. :fyou
  21. I'd also add that our stadium is a launching pad not only for us, but for him. We all know he owns US Cellular Field.
  22. Holy s***, that means you have to be in San Fierro at midnight probably a thousand times and more to find every single one. About those oysters, I've been underwater tons and haven't even seen one! Wow.. gettin 100% is going to take a LONG time.
  23. I just got done with flying school. That was a blast! Then I went and took a cargo plane from San Fierro for a spin. Also, monster trucks are awesome, but how long till I can find another after the initial monster truck mission?
