  1. I had a dream last night... I dreamt that I turned on the tv and the Colts immediately scored a 40 yard touchdown pass. I think I know what to expect today.
  2. Why not? He's not making 8 mil. Makes much less. Had a great season OBP wise for the Yanks. Only 26. Why not? This is a guy I could see KW realistically going after, low risk, high reward.
  3. Ahem. In 2002, the Yankees signed Jason Giambi. Perhaps that is why Johnson played so little games in 02 and 03! If I had the choice, I'd be starting Giambi over Johnson any day.
  4. Didn't I just provide for you the reasons he played that many games!? Maybe you should learn how to comprehend writing.
  5. 1) the Yankees got a better 1B in Jason Giambi (then) 2) Year 1 he did not play the full season because he was a September callup (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong) 3) Year 2 played 129 Games in the Yankees all star lineup, pretty good for a rookie! 4) Year 3 same thing as in Year 2 5) Year 4 = Injury He'd have more opportunity here than he did in New York. I'd be willing to bet the Yankees are kicking themselves for trading JOhnson period in the situation they're in for First base.
  6. Isn't it! Johnson is by no means the best option, but he is very much so not the worst! At his age, he still has some upside, especially when his value is so low and we could get him for a bag of peanuts. If he sucks, suck it up and send him to AAA and start Gload. It's that easy.
  7. How would Nick JOhnson NOT help the Sox? He would have a great bench player in Gload remain that, and while I think Gload could start every day and be fine, some don't. Johnson breaks up our righties, provides some pop for losing PK, drives in runs, and posts a better OBP than PK. I could definately live with that.
  8. Hey ANthrax, just for your information, N. Johnson was riddled with injurys all last year. Perhaps, by some strange means of logic, this affected his swing. New concept, yes, I know. Maybe with some good conditioning and workouts during the offseason he'll be 100% by Spring Training. Johnson posted a .422 OBP in about 300 at bats with the Yankees in a healthy year, he's only 26, and he has tremendous upside. Not to mention he makes a very small amount of money (1.25 mil in 2004), like I said, low risk, high reward.
  9. After a full non-injury plagued year in Coors East, I could see Johnson putting up .280/.400+ OBP, 25-30 HR, 80-100 RBI easy.
  10. Whoops, sorry I forgot, Jay Gibbons and Jeremy Burnitz are a hell of a lot better.
  11. Rumors are the Expos/Nationals/Senators want Wilkerson to play 1st so that they can free up room in the outfield. His value is extremely low right now, and he's another of those low risk/high reward guys KW likes so much. If we pull off a deal trading PK, and then maybe throw Munoz and a couple mid prospects at them to get N. Johnson, well first we'd be acquiring two Johnsons then we'd have a powerful left handed stick who'd probably thrive off of Coors East.
  12. I don't even know if these two are arguing or not... but if they are, I request that you two please leave it off of these threads. You guys have hijacked almost every thread I've read on this board just mocking each other, its getting old to read.
  13. So true. I hate what the NBA has become. It was a lot cooler when the players wore normal shorts that didn't hang to their ankles, but rather above their knee, didn't have tatoos, stupid headbands, corn rows in their hair, and most of all, their ATTITUDE.
  14. Make 'em the Washington Senators. I'm all about the past.
  15. If the Cubs offer him something, don't offer him anything! That's why the original post said "if the cubs balk at him and no one else seems interested"... If the Sox are the only team to offer anything, then he has no choice. I'd offer an ST invite with an incentive laden contract as soon as possible to coax him to sign early if he's not looking to break the bank.
  16. If the Cubs balk at him offering himself, and no other team seems interested, what would you guys think of a Spring Training invite for him? He'll probably get a major league contract from some team though.
  17. You're not the only one saying please please please.
  18. I was at that game... f***ing amazing game it was. There were liek 12,000 people but it sounded like 40,000. I remember watching PK go to home to take his swings, I think, "Damnit, we're going to lose.." first pitch GONE! The crowd was astonished! After that we felt like we COULDN'T lose. Frank had like a 10 pitch at bat, and after a near miss, we just knew he was gonna hit one out, and he did! I will always remember that game.
  19. Christmas I'll be getting it.
  20. I hope it's true we're showing interest in Renteria. f*** the Cubs, get Renteria!!
  21. Good! I'm not the only one!
  22. Nail biting Teeth Grinding, although I've stopped recently which is good And my newest one, twisting my hair into knots. I have longer hair, and I just play with it like a damn girl.
  23. In any case. I'd take an SS of Renteria, 2B of Uribe, and 3B of Crede or SS of Renteria, 2B of WIllie (lefty), 3B of Uribe
  24. When has Gibbons hit close to .300? Gibbons would come wayyyyy cheaper than having to trade Konerko for him. He was awful this year.
