  1. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Feb 19, 2015 -> 07:54 PM) Wow, IGN gave The Order quite a dissapointing review. Definitely will be passing on that game now. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I actually really liked The Order. I can see some of the complaints people had with the early game being a bit slow and not a ton of gameplay, but I had fun with it. I think it breaks down into two camps. If you're one of those people who doesn't care about the story in games and skips cut scenes, then stay far clear of this game. If you think of cut scenes as a sort of reward for beating a section of gameplay and don't mind watching the story unfold for a few minutes in between gameplay sections, then you'll probably enjoy this game. It's gorgeous, the world they created with the knights is cool, I enjoyed the story, the science weapons they made up are super fun. The gameplay is fairly average for a third-person cover shooter, but nothing egregious. There's a s***load of quick time events, which I normally can't stand, but this game's weren't annoying. I can see why a lot of people weren't thrilled with it (although there are very few bad reviews, simply average/ok ones), but I enjoyed it. It's not five hours long like leaked on the internet, you'd have to sprint through the game to pull that off, but it's shorter than an Uncharted game for example. If you're worried about it, get it for $20 at some point down the road and it will give you a good weekend.
  2. Rose had 1 assist, 0 free throw attempts and 11 turnovers. What a weird game from him.
  3. Is there any way the refs give the Bulls a chance in the OT?
  4. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Jan 27, 2015 -> 11:49 PM) YOU'LL NEVER SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT HINRICH AGAIN Until the first time he takes the floor next game.
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 27, 2015 -> 11:44 PM) What a rotten foul call against Nikola Yeah, it's hard to get called for a charge after you passed the ball and when you never left your feet. That was a terrible call.
  6. The podcast has been live for over a day now. It's on our iTunes feed and available at futuresox.podomatic.com. Enjoy!
  7. No posts about that Bahamas Bowl? Central Michigan comes back from 35 points down in the fourth quarter, scoring a 75-yard touchdown with three laterals on a play that started with one second left and then going for 2 and losing? Unreal
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 20, 2014 -> 03:06 PM) I can live with that game. Kids are starting to believe. They just need to stop giving up on possessions early with threes. Tough loss. I'm worried mizzou may not score vs Kentucky though. Yeeah. They still suck, let's be clear on that. Maybe in two years they'll be competitive again. At least they played hard. Some early nervous turnovers ultimately seemed to cost them.
  9. what is it with illinois and chucks? that was a god awful possession a god awful shot and it went in. dumb luck. always with the chucks with illinois
  10. I listened to all 12 episodes in about a day and a half, total binge. Enjoyed it. The ending is as expected. From the start I really thought he did it, but the case was so f***ed up that I don't know how they found him guilty. Seems weird. I think Jay was more involved. That he got no jail time for it is the weirdest thing about the case to me.
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 4, 2014 -> 10:47 AM) Let me know your thoughts when you finish it. It ended up being maybe my least favorite AC game after the first one. Yeah, agree on ACIII. It started a run of technically very impressive games for AC though. The size of the wilderness in ACIII is awe-inspiring once you start running around. Same goes for the open sea in Black Flag, very impressive. The rest of ACIII (main character, story, mission structure) was disappointing. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 8, 2014 -> 02:12 PM) Anyone here play FIFA Ultimate Team? I have, but I try not to get too sucked into it because I refuse to give them extra money for it. I get some free packs for my pre-order bonuses and eventually give up on it. It always seems to play differently than the regular FIFA modes. I can't put my finger on why, I think it has to do with the chemistry stuff, but it always feels different.
  12. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 08:17 PM) HEY I TAKE OFFENSE TO THAT WE BEAT A DAMN GOOD IOWA TEAM You should know better than anyone that those games never make any sense. It's a true rivalry game where the relative quality of the two teams rarely seems to make a difference.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 1, 2014 -> 03:15 PM) Scott Frost to Nebraska, I'd venture to say this is a worse hire than Beckman on the surface day 1. Where are you getting this from?
  14. QUOTE (Sox Fan In Husker Land @ Nov 30, 2014 -> 12:42 PM) As a lifelong Husker fan I agree with the decision to fire Pelini. Nebraska may have won 9 games every year under him but they we were beating nobody good. Our best win this year was against 7-5 Iowa. Bo Pelini at Nebraska is 5-18 against teams that finished in the Top 25. 0-10 against teams that finished in the Top 10. In 7 years he had 0 conference championships, 0 BCS games. The last 2 years NU finished 5th in the Big Ten and 3rd in their division. The last 2 years NU played 4 teams that finished in the Top 25 and lost them all. Not to mention the blowout losses to teams with lesser talent (408 yards to Melvin Gordon really!). Nebraska is a blue blood program and can do better. To those who say who can they get better? I don't know until we try, all I know is Pelini wasn't going to lead NU to anything worth a damn. Oklahoma sucked after Switzer and fired 2 coaches before they got Stoops. Bama had multiple coaches between Gene Stallings and Saban. In college football it is all about your head coach, if Nebraska gets a good one we will be back to being good quickly. The Big Ten West isn't very good. I agree with the first half of the post, but you start losing me by saying Wisconsin has less talent. The problem for Nebraska is they don't have that much talent. That's a big reason why they are losing to good teams. Nebraska was a blue blood program, but in modern college football where every team is on TV and every program gets plenty of exposure, recruiting to Lincoln isn't as easy as it used to be. The bottom line is recruiting at a high level without a dense local area to pull from is tough. Oklahoma is similar to Nebraska except the proximity to Texas recruiting is a huge difference. Being in the Big Ten probably hurts Nebraska's recruiting as well. I think you can argue for Pelini being fired, and you brought up some of those points. I just don't buy the elite program deserves better part. Pelini's overall record should be perfectly acceptable. I will say that the lack of apparent upside is the problem. If he had some 7 or 8 win seasons mixed in with some 10 or 11 win seasons fans wouldn't be so upset. The 3+ losses every year and lack of a great, memorable season is why he is fired.
  15. There's not enough talk in this thread about how awful the SEC East is.
  16. QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 23, 2014 -> 10:31 AM) Let another program get Haith'd. Ha, very nice reference.
  17. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 22, 2014 -> 10:09 PM) Feel bad for Dasox after watching those last minutes. Wow. I don't feel bad for him since his team played turn down for what like 19 times on every third down (including twice if there was a penalty or a timeout). I never want to hear that song again. MIZ
  18. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 21, 2014 -> 09:28 AM) I went with Dragon Age. By the time I finish it, FC4 will be $30 bucks. Yeah, but it has dragons in it. That's lame to me. I don't like the fantasy stuff. It's not for everyone.
  19. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Nov 20, 2014 -> 11:16 PM) Just bought a new vidcard recently and get to pick a free game. So Assassin's Creed Unity or FC4? is there a clear better choice or can't go wrong with either? They are different genres, but Far Cry is getting far better reviews. The online stuff for both isn't working right (Ubisoft is saying all their recent releases are overloading their servers). But it really should be first person shooter vs. third person action/adventure.
  20. It's funny how the narrative can spiral away from reality with some of these games. AC Unity has run fine for me. I did have two occasions where the frame rate really dropped. One was when I went the wrong route on a timed puzzle early in the game. Once I realized I was going the wrong way it ran fine. The other I think was related to the companion app or my internet connection because it was really choppy after I had been playing for a few hours and it was right after I started messing around with the app. Once I experienced problems I just turned it off for the night and haven't had any problems since. The game is really fun and I would hardly describe the game as broken or unfinished (although the patches may be a reason why it's run perfectly the last few days). It wasn't some unplayable mess or anything. I did hear the co-op was worse so maybe that's what is bothering people (haven't gone online with it yet), but if you like single player AC you'll like this game. A lot of improvements. The downward free-running is awesome although the upward climbing is tricky to get it do exactly what you want.
  21. A perfect day of college football from an entertainment standpoint.
  22. Abdullah's Heisman candidacy is gone. I'm not sure he was ever a legitimate candidate, but Michigan State's defense is absolutely dominating this game.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 4, 2014 -> 06:33 PM) Miss St. is probably the best team I've seen all season, as strange at that sounds Yeah, that team is legit. Ole Miss beat Alabama, but Mississippi State is much better to me.
  24. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 27, 2014 -> 10:58 PM) imagine Georgia winning out and beating an undefeated SEC West team by less than 1 score. I know it's just a scenario, but I'm pretty sure you don't have to worry. Road games at Mizzou and Arkansas and a home game against Auburn. What Georgia has shown so far hasn't added up to winning out in that schedule (which isn't even that hard).
  25. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 27, 2014 -> 10:25 PM) It's the best but I dont think they are nearly as good as they've been hyped. The conference has been so hyped that when they lose within the conference, the winning team flies up the rankings and the losing team just falls a few spots. I said it a few weeks ago that South Carolina had no business being ranked where they were. Missouri is probably going to get into the low 20s now and I wouldnt be surprised to see South Carolina sitting at 25 because after all, they only lost by 1 to another SEC team. I'll give you Alabama,Auburn and TAMU as very good. Georgia will probably win close to 10 games because they play in the east and they always avoid having to deal with atleast 2 of LSU,Alabama and Auburn(they only have Auburn). Everyone else could easily lose 4 games this year. And what makes Miss St a top 15 team? Winning at LSU is always good but what makes that an impressive win so far this year? LSU looked like s*** for 45 minutes against Wisconsin and looked like s*** for about 55 minutes vs Miss St. So maybe LSU just isnt that good this year by their normal standards. SEC overranking in the polls is rampant, but also irrelevant. All that matters is the top 4. A crap Missouri team getting ranked after a s***ty performance that somehow won getting ranked 25 is meaningless if it happens. I know I wouldn't vote for them, but I also saw South Carolina get dominated in every aspect by Texas A&M in Week 1 and knew that team wasn't good. A team being 12 instead of 18 ultimately means nothing.
