  1. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 03:41 PM) Just downloaded Age of Empires II from Steam for $3.99 Somebody is enjoying his relative downtime in the offseason.
  2. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 02:43 PM) This is going to sound preposterous but I quit high school basketball because I played in a similar fashion to Stephen Curry, except he is ion's better than me. It's not just AAU, it's all organized basketball, namely my school (Catholic). Coaches take the fun right out of it by playing system ball, if you wanted to do something against the norm and you were successful at it, you ended up on the bench. Guess how that worked out? Our team (filled with some of the best players in the nearby Chicago area) went 2-22, worst record in our schools history. Note Reiteration: I am not comparing myself to Steph Curry other than the fashion in which we played in Nazareth?
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 1, 2015 -> 08:25 AM) Yeah. I don't see any similarities in the MSU loss and this win. I thought going for the win was the right move for Minn the way their offense was rolling and the defense finally made a play. I stayed away from everything college football for a few days after the MSU loss so I don't know if any Michigan fans came on here to say MSU didn't deserve it. It was a fluke but the lack of execution by Michigan lost it. It was their own fault. Dropped 1st down passes, etc. As opposed to the lack of execution by Minnesota? I'm not saying it's the exact same thing, but it's similar in that one team had the game won and blew it based on a surprising series of events. Just like Michigan blew the game with MSU doing little to win it themselves, Minnesota's mistakes only required one goal line stop by Michigan's defense.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 31, 2015 -> 10:46 PM) Yes master. No reason to be rude. Was just commenting on how lucky your school was. They deserved to lose.
  5. QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 31, 2015 -> 09:53 PM) How about them Canes?!!? lol You want to explain what happened there? They reviewed a penalty, but didn't review the guy whose knee is clearly down? WOOOWW
  6. New rule for the Michigan fans on here: no more b****ing about the MSU loss. Stole the Minnesota game just as much as the MSU game was stolen from you. You break even.
  7. What's everyone's take on Noah playing limited minutes? When the Bulls get outrebounded like they have been in all 3 games, it makes me think the small lineup is costing them too much.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 24, 2015 -> 09:54 PM) 3) Poor Nebraska...growing up with Oklahoma as my second team because my dad went to school there, I can for the first time ever say I'm starting to feel sorry and pity for their great fanbase. They definitely deserve better. That program was so good that they were like the Patriots of twenty years ago, and for most of the Osborne years. It would take a lot more for me to feel sorry for Nebraska. They made a mediocre coaching hire and it's burning them earlier than expected. College football has changed so much in the past 20 years with more programs getting national exposure on TV. Nebraska will never return to anything like it's best years because when it comes down to it you're recruiting college kids to the state of Nebraska. That's an extremely tough sell, even if Lincoln is a nice city.
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 23, 2015 -> 10:41 AM) Mobile gaming on devices focused strictly on gaming is more or less dead with smartphones being so popular. The 3DS at least has some great exclusives like Pokemon, Mario, and Zelda. The Vita never had any decent first party games. The first part is undeniably true. I will disagree about decent first party games. I liked the Uncharted game that launched on it along with Gravity Rush and Tearaway. Maybe those games aren't for everyone, but I liked a few first party games. That said, my Vita doesn't get used much anymore. I think the system has been slowly dying for a while now anyway.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 12:30 PM) I am pretty sure Northwestern is the worst team ever ranked as high as 13 after week 5 in NCAA history. They're still the only team to beat Stanford and the only team to beat Duke, and that was on the road. Say what you want about their garbage performances in two losses, but they earned that ranking with two quality wins as good as anyone in the country had at the time. Kind of forced the voters.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 10:42 AM) burbs Labriola Pizza Barra Brix Wood Fired Pizza city Eataly Sono Fire Side Coal Fire La Madia I've been to Bricks a few times. That place is legit. The fried egg pizza is special.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 18, 2015 -> 07:01 PM) Dantonio didn't try and meet Harbaugh to shake hands after the game at midfield. Ran to tunnel and started yelling at students from reports. If he didn't get so butt hurt about a 20 year olds comments 8 years ago, nobody would care. We only call them little brother because it gets under their skin so much. He's such a miserable old f. Hope OSU destroys them for the frauds they are. Wahh wahh, he wouldn't shake my coach's hand. Look, it's not the classiest thing to do on his part, but don't act like it makes a difference. We make too big of a deal of these handshake snub things. It's not relevant
  13. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Oct 17, 2015 -> 08:50 PM) As the resident NU fan, I feel like I need to make a statement as well... Northwestern was supposed to be mediocre to poor this year. Their D returned a lot of their depth chart, but also lost a couple of major playmakers (Campbell and Ariguzo were the main ones, also some LB and DL depth). The offense was nearly a complete question mark with a RS freshman QB (albeit one of their better recruits in a while) and inexperienced and/or bad players returning on the line and in the receiving core. Most fans I talked to had them around 5 wins before the season. Well, they already have 5 wins, and not against completely s*** competition either. Obviously the last two games have been ugly, but those are also the toughest games left on the schedule. At Wisconsin is the only game that looks scary at this point, and I'm not really sure how good they are. The others are @ NEB, vs PSU, vs PUR and ILL at Soldier Field. Their defense is still decent as long as their opponent doesn't start on NU's side of the field constantly. They just need to stop being complete f***ups on offense and get some punts that go farther than 35 yards. I would assume Jackson will be much more involved against more manageable competition, which should keep them in games more. Bottom line is even if they go 2-3 the rest of the way, they'll have exceeded nearly every reasonable expectation. They bailed on the run game way too early today. Jackson can't have 10 carries and Thorson 35 pass attempts in a game you trail by 6 points at halftime. I should have said it on here, but you could tell in the earlier wins that Thorson wasn't needed in them and when Northwestern was in a tough spot and needed him to win a game for them he wasn't capable of it. I'm not calling for backups, but Thorson just sucks. The playcalling is frustrating. I'd give Justin the ball 25 times every game.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 04:24 PM) Will Grier suspended for PED use. Sorry Florida This seriously couldn't have happened two days ago?
  15. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Oct 11, 2015 -> 08:04 PM) Agreed. I still cannot believe Tennessee blew that game against them 2 weeks ago. We were clearly the better team. Epic collapse. You break even because they should not have won this past Saturday. Dobbs played the second half of his life.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 03:04 PM) Michigan is going to boat race Northwestern and then they will free fall back to their norm. Like usual. Northwestern that is. Nothing would surprise me with Northwestern, good or bad, but they will win at least 8 games with their schedule. I'd be surprised if they don't win 9. The Big Ten West is historically bad, there's no game left they can't win. They still host Penn State and Purdue, which should be fairly comfortable wins. I still don't buy that Illinois is any good (they've played OK for two straight weeks, but that's still a team that lost to North Carolina by 34 points). Iowa isn't anything special and they come to Evanston next week. Road games at Wisconsin and Nebraska are tough only because they're road games, those teams are entirely average. Also, boat race? WTF?
  17. I don't understand why they didn't put a campaign in Battlefront. I would have bought it. All they had to do was make two missions per map, one with the Rebels and one with the Empire.
  18. Didn't see the earlier calls people are b****ing about, but I thought that 3rd and goal PI call against Nebraska was quite generous. The second PI was obvious though.
  19. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 02:31 PM) Anybody got NHL or FIFA 16 on PS4? I have FIFA.
  20. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 21, 2015 -> 09:11 AM) According to the ESPN Football Power Index, best chance of finishing the regular season undefeated: Ohio State 28.9% Boise State 20.9% Mississippi 16.7% Baylor 9.6% Notre Dame 8.4% Boise lost to BYU. Was this the chances of going undefeated the rest of the way?
  21. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Sep 19, 2015 -> 11:17 PM) You and I could have made Texas' team in 2013. Strong had nothing to work with to start and only giving him 2 years to fix Mack Brown's mistakes would be ridiculously stupid. That's fine, just don't be surprised if he doesn't turn it around.
  22. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 19, 2015 -> 03:21 PM) Firing Charlie Strong would be really stupid. Racist assholes. He's 7-9 so far at Texas. Yes, it's early in his tenure, but that's pretty pathetic given the talent level and recruiting base at Texas.
  23. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 07:31 PM) Downers Grove North football is taking it back to '04 and bringing home a state championship this year. Book it. They'll be lucky to make the playoffs. They'll probably be 2-4 heading into a winnable final 3 games. That program has been way down the past couple years.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 09:02 AM) SEC Qb play is terrible outside A&M and Dak. Nobody has stepped up to replace some of the big shoes from 2 years ago with Murray/Manziel/McCarron/Franklin/Shaw/Mettenberger/ and even Wallace and Marshall seem a step above here. Maybe Dobbs will end up being tops in league, but everyone looks pretty crappy (until Drew Lock takes over world) I don't think Dobbs is any good. Tennessee was leading despite him and then that caught up with them.
  25. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 12, 2015 -> 09:30 PM) So, Missouri won, but... Pretty sure this offense will be miserable again. It's last year's team with different strengths on defense. I haven't decided if that's good or not yet. Defense still looks great (the early turnovers seemed to mask that), but the offense is still a mess. O-line looks worse and we have no RB depth thanks to injuries. Also, those 2 TD catches by Houston were out of this world. If that's how you have to score a touchdown then the defense did its job.
