  1. QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 03:06 PM) I started playing Uncharted and I beat the game and got the gold trophy for all the treasure in about 6 days or so, there's 2 other gold trophies you can get if you beat it on Crushing difficulty so I tried that. I got past a couple of levels but... yikes, the AI rushes and flanks you and does headshots if you pop out of cover. Yikes, that's terrifying. I wanted to try to get the platinum. I beat it on hard and got all the multiplayer trophies, but wanted to take some time away from it before going back in on crushing. Hard difficulty had me swearing up a storm in a couple sections. That was part of my hesitance to go back in for crushing. I don't remember Uncharted 3 being super crazy on crushing, but Uncharted 4 on hard was a pain.
  2. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 07:52 AM) Omar Gonzalez probably hit a wall by staying in the league too long. Now he's in mexico so maybe things will get better. Gonzalez was a regular starter for the Mexican League champions in his first year in Mexico. How is that hitting a wall by staying in MLS too long? If anything blame Klinsmann for not selecting him.
  3. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Jun 18, 2016 -> 08:44 AM) Any game recommendations? I have terrible internet so multiplayer isn't really an option for me. And I don't really like shooters. I have my eyes on Firewatch and the Middle-Earth game from a couple years back (big Tolkien fan). Firewatch is good. Life is Strange and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture are good games in a similar genre to Firewatch. Resogun is a must-have if you like twin stick shooters at all. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 18, 2016 -> 10:11 PM) Yea one of my fave games. Rockey hockey is the best. Yeah, the hockey version is killer. I don't like how much the ball bounces in the soccer version. I wish you could play hockey single player. I only play multiplayer when one of my buddies is on to play with.
  4. Nice top of the order for Great Falls prospect wise with Alex Call (third rounder), Jameson Fisher (4th) and Corey Zangari (top 10-15 prospect entering the year) taking the top three spots.
  5. Good day of E3 press conferences yesterday. Microsoft announced a sleek slim model. Then Sony killed it with a new IP that looks cool in Days Gone, a Spiderman game and Horizon Zero Dawn footage. Seriously how good does this look?
  6. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 03:04 PM) What is with FOX and ESPN feeling the need to given a token analyst spot to former US women players? Both the girl on FOX and Wambach have been terrible and useless. Wait, Wambach when describing Bale's first have goal said she was happy and proud of him. Dynamite drop in Abby, that broadcasting school is really starting to pay off.... I can't argue with that, but the other side is that Julie Foudy is fantastic. She's been doing it for years though.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 07:56 PM) For the FS people out there, any of the late HS picks worth being excited about? I know we drafted our future grounds keeper in the 31st round, but other than that? I know you're just hating on Bossard because the White Sox are known for nepotism with draft picks (I can't believe this isn't a Matt post I'm replying to), but Bossard is a real prospect. Real good shortstop, strong arm, good speed, baseball junkie type. He was a decent high school pitcher, too. Could throw upper 80s.
  8. They are doing 5 rounds per hour, which means they'll be at this until 7 at the current rate. My goodness.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 03:43 PM) Have to say I'm a bit disappointed that with a comp pick used on a reliever we then have had to use so many other picks on college seniors for signing one third round level high school shortstop. I really like Collins, Hansen and Fisher, but this isn't the haul I was expecting. I'm very open to the fact that I have never heard of any of these players though, but considering the interviews of hostetler I'm surprised to see our strategy of basically slot for top three players then a bunch of college seniors to sign one high schooler. They only drafted one college senior and technically he's a redshirt junior.
  10. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 12:49 PM) Is there an active list of the players the Sox have drafted somewhere? http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2016/...-draft-tracker/
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 08:15 PM) Matt Cooper is having himself quite the unexpected year. I wonder if we're talking about him enough. These numbers are staggering and they're not new this year. The only thing that's new is that he's doing it while starting. At 24 and with nothing but success in the minors, Cooper probably needs to move up to Birmingham this season.
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 10:29 AM) I've seen like none of roland garros after the first day. Kind of hoping for Tsonga to get to the final. Me neither, but I think clay is such a bogus surface that in my mind the French doesn't even count as a major.
  13. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ May 31, 2016 -> 07:29 AM) As far as TV coverage of the sport in the US goes... NBC>ESPN>>>>>>>>>>>FOX ESPN's handling of the World Cup in '10 and '14 was masterful, as is its handling of the Euros (they didn't do a bad job with their PL coverage when they had a match a week back in the day later, being the first PL broadcaster in the US to send their own teams to cover the matches on site). Clearly NBC learned a lot from them, inclulding poaching Rebecca Lowe off their Euro '12 coverage. FOX really does lag behind and it's disappointing to see that they'll have the next THREE World Cups. They have improved, however. Their FA Cup and CL coverage is better than it once was. I didn't really see any of their Women's World Cup coverage last year but heard it was a step forward for them. We'll have to see how they do this summer with Copa America. Thank God ESPN still has the Euros. (I think they already sealed 2020 as well) I actually think Fox did really well with the Women's World Cup so I'm hopeful it will get better. You're right though. They do lag behind the other two networks in terms of soccer coverage. Their Bundesliga and Champions League coverage is only OK and their streaming support is well behind the other two.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 25, 2016 -> 04:10 PM) I'm thinking about visiting Chicago in July to catch a USMNT game during Copa America. Not sure how sold out that'll be. The tournament ends in June so I hope you're not hoping to see them play Copa games in July.
  15. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ May 19, 2016 -> 12:28 PM) Finished up Uncharted 4 last night. I'll go with 8.5 out of 10. Very solid, very fun, but the amount of climbing was a real drag. If this had been the first game in the series it would have been an easy 10 out of 10 and the issue of climbing wouldn't have been a thought. But after 3 games i've had enough. That's really the only negative I can think of though. The game is gorgeous, the writing is good, the story is good, and the game play is really smooth. I've had a hard time evaluating the game on a scale because it's so much better than every other game in a number of ways, but it falls short in a few ways, too. That said, I didn't think it was a 10. I actually liked the climbing because it was much smoother than the previous games.
  16. This week's episode of Archer was one of the best the show has had. They've had a few great ones this season.
  17. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 12, 2016 -> 08:31 AM) Assassin's Creed trailer. With the exception of the Kanye track (who thought this was a sound artistic choice?) this looks dope. I agree! I was pleasantly surprised that this didn't look like crap. Still think it might be for fans of the series only.
  18. QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ May 12, 2016 -> 12:48 PM) Yeah I'm copping that. Good looking out. I make more money now than I did last gen so I can actually have both consoles, lol. Uncharted was one of the ones I missed out on that I wanted to play really bad, this is back in the days when Mass Effect was still a Xbox 360 exclusive. You really should play the first 3 first. It'd be nice to get all the references in 4, but you should play them just because they're also awesome and really fun.
  19. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ May 11, 2016 -> 10:17 AM) Played the first few hours of Uncharted 4 last night. Easily the most photo-realistic graphics of any game i've ever played. Incredible. Also loved the nod to prior games in the series and also to the ps1 in one of the early chapters. Agree on all points. I got all sad and nostalgic during the opening credits when I realized this is the last one.
  20. This Blazers-Warriors game is fantastic. Draymond Green also went off at a ref during a timeout in a 3-point game. Kind of crazy that he lost his mind. Could have been T'd the way he ran up to the ref.
  21. 6 stolen bases off the Jordan Guerrero/Jeremy Dowdy battery tonight. That's terrifying when you consider Guerrero didn't give up any hits and walked 4.
  22. What does everyone make of Zangari's start? Hit his 5th homer tonight, but has 41 K in 96 PA. Should we be happy that an 18-year old has a .216 ISO in A ball or worried that he's striking out like crazy? QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 04:40 PM) http://mlbfarm.com/index.php?team=CWS Better link That site is pretty cool. I wish it was a little cleaner looking.
  23. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 01:08 AM) Honestly, that's such a weird thing to say. OK fine. It just seems like overcorrecting, but I'm not going to pick this fight.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 11:16 PM) I found their male leads in the first 6 installments pushing their masculine agenda. OK PC police. Does it make you feel important because you're PC bro? That was only two characters. I'm just saying they don't get points for female characters, nor should they.
  25. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 12:25 PM) The trailer was pretty good, but I can see why it wasn't a WOW or anything. That said, before the trailer, I was more psyched for this movie than any of the other episodic pieces. A Star Wars offshoot that's a spy thriller, minus most of the Jedi magical stuff and more grit? With a cast including guys like Forest Whitaker and Benedict Cumberbatch? And a female lead? Definitely in for that. Not that the female lead is a problem, but they did just have one. I did get a sense that they may have been forcing it in that regard, but Daisy Ridley was great so who cares.
