  1. I'm surprised I'm the only one who didn't like the trailer. It looks fine, but absolutely nothing about that is stand out. Compare that to the Ep. 7 trailer and it's miles apart. I guess we're at the point where people will go gaga over anything new in the Star Wars world. This looks mediocre.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 6, 2016 -> 12:20 AM) Warriors chokin' on a fat one. Looks like the pressure has finally gotten to them. They'll have to win out now to top the Bulls. Yeah, what a shock. Definitely got sloppy down the stretch, which made me think it was a bit of a choke. Minnesota has some really good young talent though.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 4, 2016 -> 01:52 PM) It's the race to 81 points in the Prem now. Most points Spurs can get is 80, but they have a far larger goal differential than Leicester. If Leicester win 4 of the next 6, they win the league. It's not really much of a race. It's more of a Leicester have to struggle down the stretch to blow this. It can totally happen, but I wouldn't call a 7-point lead with 6 games to go a race. The only reason people are talking about it like it still is is because Leicester is the team that's in 1st. Besides, Tottenham still has home games against Man U and Southampton, solid teams, and an away trip to Chelsea. It's not like they're going to win out.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 10:55 PM) I don't know if anyone watched the USA U-23s lose to Colombia but that was some downright cowardly officiating. I've never seen a team flop and go down and embellish injuries at any level more than Colombia did tonight and they were consistently rewarded for it in the 2nd half. I'm not arguing with how Colombia played, but the U.S. got away with two clear stamps that were worthy of red cards. Ref missed both.
  5. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 08:39 AM) And Alli was MotM, his late miss notwithstanding. Tottenham 2, Leicester 1. COYS, motherf***as. LOL too bad that wasn't the score in either of the league matches.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 25, 2016 -> 10:01 PM) They will be heavily favored to win both home games and the vacation at St. Vincent so they should be fine. But this leaves them zero room for error. Yeah, they'll be fine. They actually started last cycle the same way. Beat Antigua at home, tied at Guatemala and lost at Jamaica in first 3 qualifying games. Still worth noting how awful the team looked.
  7. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Feb 22, 2016 -> 01:59 AM) Did you actually play it? I found it far less "spongey" than the youtube video of other people I saw playing. Sure, it takes far more bullets than most games, but I was never overwhelmed and it actually provided some cat and mouse shootouts in my experience this weekend. Also, the Darkzone is a lot of nervous fun. Yes I did. It's not that ridiculous, but the lack of enemy stagger and the combination of them running out in the open is annoying. The AI uses a dumb strategy: running out in the open in the middle of a fire fight and then gets rewarded because you can't punish them for it. Yeah, you get some free shots and can occasionally get enough hits to put them down when they run at you, but the fact that they don't stagger when you're hitting them is stupid. It just seems like a game that is fighting itself. The setting and the premise are super cool and engaging. Then you have these super stupid enemies that really take away from the immersion the rest of the game brings. Also, stop it with the damn numbers when I hit an enemy. It's hard enough to see, which is a fair choice to make, but don't make it harder to see because there are number popping out of a guy's head. I think I'm more disappointed because of what that game could be instead of what it actually is. I'm not sure if that's fair or not.
  8. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Feb 21, 2016 -> 03:37 PM) Anyone playing the extended Division beta this weekend? Thinking bout getting it if the reviews are good for PC, but it's one of those games where you need a group of friends to play with to really enjoy it I suppose. XCOM2 and Tomb Raider are taking up a fair bit of my time ATM though currently. It's good, not great. The bullet sponge enemies and dumb AI make it weird. That said, I have at least one friend who said he will play it so that makes me twice as likely to get it.
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Feb 18, 2016 -> 07:21 AM) I'm not sure how an exciting last match day deciding the fate of the two largest spending clubs who had been the only two contenders for months is the same thing, but ok. It's not the same thing, but it was definitely exciting. I love this Leicester team, both in strategy and the story. Watching them press so efficiently is a special thing to witness. They were driving Arsenal crazy before the red card. Arsenal was never comfortable on the ball. Still, that Man City finish is truly unbelievable. Throw in the rivalry dynamic, that Man U was top of the table when they finished their match only to see Man City score after the United game was over and that Man City hadn't won a title in forever. The whole season of Leicester is better if they win, but that finish was truly remarkable.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Feb 15, 2016 -> 07:27 AM) Arsenal with a last second winner and Spurs with a late winner over City make this a lot more interesting now. This has been the best title chase since I started following English football Did you miss the year Man City won on an extra time goal in the last match of the season?
  11. I guess I'll be the minority and say LaVine is way better than Gordon. His first dunk was the best dunk of the night. LaVine's problem is he makes the dunks look so easy. Gordon didn't do as much for me.
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 10, 2016 -> 05:16 PM) I'm not sure I have the patience or skill to develop 10 young players, maybe 2-3 while the rest of the team is filled with OP players I like from UT. I'm sim the first year and most of the second year. By the time I get to the Championship I usually start playing more/most of the games.
  13. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Feb 10, 2016 -> 12:46 PM) Finished it in one sitting? Damn, must not be that long. I only put in about 30 minutes last night. Still on day 1. It wasn't one sitting, but one day. But yeah 4 hours as said above is probably about right.
  14. Finished Firewatch in a binge last night. I like it. I liked it more in the first couple parts, but then it got a bit weird in the second half. I still recommend it. It's different from most other games out there. I can't wait to see what this studio has next. Firewatch is worth playing, but flawed (both technically and in story).
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 9, 2016 -> 05:38 PM) Yup, developing players is all the fun of career mode. Good young players to target: Embolo, Boufal, Tielemans, Coman, Bellerin, Dybala, Traore. Good list here: http://www.futhead.com/16/career-mode/play...ng_beast_rating You actually play with big teams? I always start with some League Two team in England and build them up. In year three I'm currently in the Championship with 6 teenagers starting and 10 starters 21 and under. Not even a little bit realistic, but it's fun to play with the kids as they develop.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 11:16 AM) This season's been great to watch from the outside looking in. I don't really have a horse in this race, I just want to see chaos. Leicester City winning the Prem would be the largest dose of chaos in decades. Hasn't it been 20 some odd years since someone outside the big 4 (+ Man City) have won the Premier League? Now there's 2 non big 4 teams at the top of the table, including one that was in the Championship not too long ago. Blackburn Rovers won in 94-95, but they spent a lot of money and even broke the English record transfer fee for Alan Shearer. They had finished 2nd and 4th the past two seasons. So even that team was a big team at the time. Leicester is a total underdog so you'd have to go further back to match it.
  17. QUOTE (shysocks @ Feb 8, 2016 -> 10:03 AM) Clearly they're going for an RPG feel, but it is true that enemies (and players) felt very spongey. I'm chalking it up to beta limitations for now; hopefully the full game gives us more ways to keep firefights interesting. The Dark Zone definitely needs some balance tweaks as well. There should be more disincentives for going rogue - take away more XP & money for death, maybe make them use separate extraction choppers from everyone else. To your point about long fights, one of the cheap tricks I took advantage of was that you lose rogue status after you die. So if I'm in a group of 4, we're all rogues, and I die, I can just respawn, trot back to the fight, blindside the enemy (who has forgotten about me by now), and rejoin my team. If you're within a certain distance of rogue teammates, you should be instantly flagged rogue. Good points on the Dark Zone. I didn't get to mess around in it that much so I hadn't put too much thought into it. This makes it sound like Division will be another game that will be much better a few months after launch than it will be at launch once they figure out tweaks like this.
  18. QUOTE (shysocks @ Feb 5, 2016 -> 12:05 PM) Anybody try The Division beta last weekend? I gave several hours to the Xbox One version and I think it has a lot of potential. Because of the way players can flip from friendly to hostile on a dime, the different ways to play PvP were extensive, and that was with 75% of the skill tree and many of the other depth elements completely disabled for the beta. Seems like a fun loot shooter that I'm liable to sink a lot of time into. I only got to play for a couple hours, if that, but I really liked the Madison Square Garden mission. If those are what the story missions are going to be like, sign me up. The open world is really pretty and I like the premise, even if it is entirely absurd. The one major gripe I have is the bullet sponge enemies. The elite enemies or whatever they're calling them are just dudes walking around with a winter coat and a snow cap and they take a full round of bullets without staggering. I wish it was more like The Last of Us multiplayer where it hurt to get shot a couple times and you had to make a med kit and take time to apply it to heal. That would make their dark zone area much more interesting. No one would want to get into a fire fight with another player because it would be so easy to die. Now if you get into a fire fight it could go on for several minutes or one of you could easily just bail in the middle. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 5, 2016 -> 01:28 PM) I had a really bad Fifa moment where I had this really creative and fun end of transfer window, and didn't realized I needed to accept their contracts after i got the "accepted" emails. So the window ended and I was like..."where is everyone". So I basically lost all my players and gained no one. I should probably be fired. Ha, I would have just quit and reloaded. FIFA career mode is so flaky that weird s*** happens all the time.
  19. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Feb 3, 2016 -> 01:46 AM) Also, Firewatch FINALLY got a price. The game comes out in a week and finally a price. $17.99 on pre-order! http://www.firewatchgame.com/ Can't wait for that game. I've been following it for....around 6 months or so. Yeah, I'm really looking forward to that one as well.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 07:11 PM) Fully agree with your point on shorter season. Make sure you get quality. 6 is tough cause it almost doesn't feel like enough, 12 might be a little on the long side. I feel like 8-10 is perfect. Ensures every episode is quality while still being able to follow the greater arc. I honestly had forgotten how original this show was and when I saw the initial intro fire up (I haven't watched xfiles since I saw the last of the movies years ago) and it instantly brought me back to when I was a little kid and would watch the show in its earliest years(and sometimes it would cause me difficulty sleeping, haha...parents, what the hell were you thinking). Freaking show aired when I was 10 years old....unbelievable. I've been rewatching on Netflix for the past couple months. I haven't gone full binge mode, I'm almost done with the first season. It really does bring back how fantastic the show was. So many good stories.
  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 02:40 PM) Loved that they stuck with the retro intro. Yes! I geeked out when I saw the graininess of it. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 04:18 PM) Episode 3 is supposed to be the high water mark of the series. Have to imagine they'll bring it back because how popular this run is. I actually hope they keep it to shorter seasons, more British in style. They don't need to do 24-episode seasons anymore. We have 200+ episodes already. Just do the best storylines you have. We don't need filler at this point. The 6-episode run gives them a chance to do a larger arc while staying on point and throwing in a couple stand alones (which were usually the best ones). Maybe limit it to 12-episode seasons.
  22. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 09:07 AM) The second episode of The X-Files last night was great. Much like the original run, it was a standalone case while the overall series plot line was referenced. Mulder and Scully easily fell back into their banter, complete with Mulder's dry, sarcastic comments. It's a shame there are only four more episodes. Hopefully they'll bring it back again next season. Yep. The first episode got some mediocre reviews, but after watching that one you could tell it was just to set things up. This episode was more of what we want, a stand alone that ties in to a bigger picture, like you said. Good character development, too.
  23. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 23, 2016 -> 10:00 PM) I remember when they lost to Brooklyn at home a few weeks back, and credit to Hoiberg and Bulls they've certainly turned it around since then. Nah, they had lost 6 of 8 entering this game. They're still a mess.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 08:29 AM) No it won't. They haven't started production and that will come out in 2018 at the earliest. LOL on cue. Breaking today: http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/news/av...r-2017-20160122
  25. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) Thanks for the great work as usual. If you had to only pick one, which Sox prospect do you think increases his stock the most in 2016? I'll go with Corey Zangari. I think he continues to hit in Kanny next year, which would be very impressive for his first full season of pro ball out of high school. To go way more off the radar, a lot of people that voted like Carlos Perez. Dominican catcher that hit well over there last year as a teenager. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) Micker Adolfo. If he stays healthy and begins to tap into his raw power...he will be on everyone's top 100 prospect lists. Might have to wait another year on Adolfo. He had the fluke injury that resulted in a broken leg running the bases and I think that will slow him out of the gates.
