QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 10:35 PM) OK, I have to find someone who speaks German to find out what that kid is saying. Supposedly he is actually playing Unreal Tournament, which is a first person shooter. I youtubed it and found the real subtitles.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 11:09 AM) While I am very happy with the grade, there are so many things wrong with this. 1.He obviously didn't read the paper. 2. If he did, He just doesn't have a backbone, and changed it because I questioned him. 3. If that is the case, then couldn't I have done that with everything in his class 4. If it happened to me, how many other kids got the shaft.... Welcome to college. It sounds like a relatively big class in which case papers simply can't be read when they are that size.

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Dec 19, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) Embarassing showing by NIU tonight. Granted TCU is good and I didn't expect them to win, but it would have been nice to at least see GW go out with a good game. I don't want to be a dick, but NIU simply wasn't good this year. I would have been surprised if the game was close. I was surprised that Wolfe couldn't do anything. 28 yards on 20 carries is epically bad. -

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 19, 2006 -> 10:39 PM) Missouri isn't likely a top half of the conference team in the Big 12. Better teams include Kansas, A&M, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas Tech, Kansas State and possibly Baylor. Then again, a compentent coach might make a difference. Tech and Kansas State? Are you serious? K State is a different team with Walker, but Tech?! Tech has won at Arkansas and lost at Stanford as well as a couple top 25 road losses. They've proven as much as Mizzou to this point, I doubt they are a better team. I would have agreed with Baylor earlier, but the Bears have struggled so far this year. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Dec 19, 2006 -> 10:47 PM) Mizzou is maybe the 8th best team in the big 12. KU, A&M, Texas, Tech, OU, Ok State, Baylor, then ISU and Mizzou This is about as easy as you can get. ISU and OU are horrible. How can you put OU ahead of OSU? It's also a conveniently biased list as you have K State lower than they probably belong as well. KU #1, MU and KSU very low. Good to know you think with a clear head. Geez, Mizzou almost (and should have if they could grab a clutch rebound) beat Illinois and they are getting hated on. I don't mean to claim a moral victory, but Mizzou is probably a bubble team come the end of the year. -

The problem with that argument is it means more for a team like SIU to beat Missouri State or Wichita State when those teams have quality wins, better resumes, and more respect. At the end of the year when everyone is looking at tournament resumes, Valley teams will have better SOSs because several of the individual teams have quality wins. -
Good news because it's a b**** to drive from Phoenix area to Tucson. Hopefully this goes through.

After a lackluster season from Flores he was released.

Looks good, but the hardball times links are labeled harball times. Thanks for this though, it's nice. As a result of this thread I've wasted a good amount of time on the add-on website. I got a few on here now, very cool stuff.

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Dec 4, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) at this point, too, i think the rankings are more a way to promote certain match-ups than anything else. for example, i don't think it was much of a coincidence that osu found itself at number one a few days before their nationally televised espn game against north carolina. Exactly, which is why there is no reason to start polls late in basketball. People would have to be more avid fans to know they are watching a top ten team early on. Also, polls don't get used at the end anyway. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 4, 2006 -> 01:20 PM) New rankings out: UCLA number 1 in both polls. WSU up to 10th in the ap, still only 16th in the coaches poll. Butler 14 in ap, 15 in coaches. SIU gets 30 votes in the ap and 22 in the coaches. How is WSU still behind LSU in both polls? Even worse, they are one spot behind them in the AP. They won at LSU and haven't lost to anyone, how is LSU the better team? -

So no one probably cares about Mizzou basketball and rightfully so, but they beat Evansville 73-54 today. That in itself isn't post worthy, but Evansville shot 28.1% as a team. Two starters went ofer the field (0-11 and 0-9 respectively) and another fouled out in ten minutes of action. That's impressive sucking. Basically Evansville's highlight was one of the players' girlfriends. -

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Dec 3, 2006 -> 08:33 PM) Good thing I bet the over in each game. Everyone was posting in the football thread while some very notable stuff in college basketball happened today. I was just saying that college football stole the spotlight. I said what I meant. -
I'm definitely down for this deal to happen. That would be awesome. It sounds ridiculous from the Yankees' perspective, but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if they end up doing a similar deal that's below A-Rod's value just to get rid of him. I'm thinking we would have to throw in something else for this to work though.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 3, 2006 -> 08:16 PM) Hell, the Rose Bowl has already received permission from the City of Pasadena to run a 2nd game in that stadium a week after new years. The people running the bloody stadium saw the writing on the wall a year ago. I believe that would be for the extra BCS Championship game though. -

What's stupid about this is that the voters had Michigan ahead of Florida before the SEC title game. There is no way the win over Arkansas made the voters all of a sudden think Florida was better than Michigan, they just didn't want to see a rematch. It's as if they know Michigan is the better team, but don't want to see a rematch. -

The thing is that Michigan lost by 3 in Columbus. What if the game is in Ann Arbor, Michigan wins, and the tables are turned? A rematch can be justified, but I'm not sure it's the best thing for college football. A new opponent would make sense. -

Wichita State was up 15 late, 'Cuse goes on a 17-2 run to tie it with a minute plus to go. WSU hits a free throw and gets a stop. Up 1 about 40 seconds left 'Cuse steals it and has an open layup. The guy missed it off the front rim, WSU gets the rebound, hits both free throws and wins the game. Geez. That said, the Shockers have won @LSU and @Cuse. Top 10? -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Nov 30, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) Now don't go overlookin' Evansville!! You're right, the U of I game is quite a ways away anyway. I'm actually afraid the team will have a letdown against Evansville, a team good enough that would certaintly beat Mizzou if they sleep on them. Tonight was by far the best the team has played all year and isn't as good as they played. That said the pumped up home crowd had to have something to do with it so maybe I can expect close to that at home from now on. They have played poorly enough at stretches so far this year where they could lose to a team like Evansville. -

Mizzou manhandled Arkansas 86-64 to move to 8-0. It was Mizzou's first good win (Davidson and maybe a couple others are decent mid-majors, but mostly a cupcake schedule). Mizzou played very well and did it on national tv. The crowd was just short of 5,500 because of the storm, half the crowd was students or at least close, but it should mean more fans will come from now on. I want to get cocky and start trash talking U of I for the Braggin' Rights game, but it's Mizzou sports and the football team let me down so I'm going to stay cautiously optimistic. Anybody watch the game? -

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 29, 2006 -> 10:46 PM) well even on the bench he is probably the best basketball player in the building. With Oden expect 10 less points from UNC and 10 more for OSU, he is THAT good. He hasn't played a college game yet that's a stretch. He is exceptional but he's not going to change a game by 20 points.
