  1. I just don't say his name. I shorten it.
  2. Shoe's run wasn't earned. Wright didn't pitch that bad last game, but more importantly we didn't score. He could have given up 1 run and the Sox would have still lost. It's insignificant.
  3. Kelly Dransfeldt hit a 2-run double to give Charlotte a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 7th. Kohlmeier is pitching well. Also Birmingham is winning 4-0, top 7, and Winston-Salem is losing (shocking) 4-2 in the top of the 9th.
  4. Oh so you are looking in a mirror? 1 more strike Marte! I normally hate relievers pitching over 2 different innings, but he seems to be doing alright....
  5. Good to see Gload producing and the offense scoring without a HR. BTW, Steve how often do you see dumb people?
  6. Oh Jas, get over Chris Young. I'm not saying he's bad, but you hold him in such high esteem.
  7. This makes up for yesterday when Casey was rung up in the 4th on a brutal call. The count was 3-2 with runners on 1st and 2nd, 2 out, in a tie game. Casey took a ball way outside and the ump struck him out. It was ridiculous. Even Chip Caray mentioned that it meant something for Casey to argue a call because he never argues. That call was basically cheating it was so far off the plate.
  8. McCarthy and Castro, who is 19, are going to be studs this year and in the future. 10 Ks is sick, I just hope he doesn't become Jon Rauch (really tall, K machine that doesn't do it in the bigs).
  9. Kanny lost 4-3. Chris Young hit a HR.
  10. That's really wrong. Those assholes had to get the Padres involved in this. Stupid PETA, next thing they are going to say is that having pets is wrong. :headshake
  11. Kannapolis is losing to Lake County 4-3 after 7 innings. Brandon McCarthy started. If you want to listen to the last two innings of the Kanny game you can go here and click on the listen live link. W-S, Bham, and Charlotte all start around 6:00.
  12. Pippen shouldn't be hated on. He was the 2nd best player on that team and will probably get into the Hall of Fame for the simple reason of what he did with the Bulls.
  13. Good to see my article brings a lot of comments.
  14. Yeah Reed in CF. I'm a Rowand fan, but Reed gets priority on my list. Borchard should turn it around, but he's losing my faith by the day. I had faith in him going into the season. Bryant is surprising, but I doubt he will keep it up.

    I'm pissed

Don't you just hate when guys just hit it back? That reminds me of a funny story. Last year my school's varsity team (I was on the sophomore/JV team) would have placed in a tie for 3rd in state, but one of our doubles players smashed in racquet after his team lost their match. IHSA (Illinois High School Association) took away a point from our team, costing us 3rd and a trophy. :fyou that dips***. Nobody liked him anyway, he was an asshole.

You do have a racquet, use it! I've cracked a couple racquet frames in my day, good and bad times at the same time. Good times because it makes for a good story, bad times because I had to tell my dad I...uhh...broke my racquet.
  17. Super cool work by The Cheat. I gotta learn how to do that. Reed has back-to-back 3 for 4 games, that is extremely encouraging. It is great to see him hitting .400. I am really starting to believe that he is going to become a great hitter in the bigs. After last season I was thinking that he was going to become a solid hitter for us (I mean he was compared to Mark Kotsay for crying out loud), but now damn... Also Borchard struggling has me really worried. When I wrote my Kannapolis preview for FutureSox I was thinking the same thing, noticing that Gray wasn't going to play much. W-S' infield has room for improvement so I would think there is a chance for somebody in the Kanny infield to move up if they play well. Thomas Brice was player of the year in Kannapolis, but the W-S outfielders took priority over him getting promoted. I think he has a chance to be a big leaguer because he is hitting again this year, but I don't think he is going to be a top prospect ever in his career. I personally see him being dealt by the Sox in a trade for a reliever this season because he is DHing in Kanny and we have a bunch of outfielders in our minor league system. I'm not saying we should or will trade him, but I'm saying he is expendable.

  19. 1899-1910 the Dodgers were the Brooklyn Superbas. Best. Nickname. Ever. Anybody got anything to top that?
  20. I thought Pip said he was going to retire at the end of this season before the season was over?
  21. That's weird as hell. What you did was bad, but I can't imagine something that harsh being a punishment. That sucks big time. Why was the teacher crying? WTF?
  22. Smilie request of the day: We need a broom icon to use for situations like these!
  23. I didn't say you couldn't have both, I said we don't. The bullpen can be fixed, but it hasn't looked so good as of now.
  24. Our Birmingham lineup isn't impressing me much more. There are some guys at Bham, but I don't see any of them dominating enough to get called up. The thing is after we traded away quite a few prospects for Everett and Alomar among others our higher minor leagues are thin. We had a good draft last year and those guys are now in A ball so our A ball teams are pretty loaded with talent. W-S could use some pitching, but the point is that Kanny is stacked and so is W-S for the most part. If we stop trading away prospects (not saying it's a bad thing) we will have more talent in the minors, but that isn't always worth it.
