  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 29, 2009 -> 09:33 PM) Remenowsky strikes out the side to hit the 100 K mark on the season - in 57.1 IP. Also, anyone else find it odd that Charlie Shirek made a relief appearance? I believe he's out of the rotation to limit his innings pitched.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 29, 2009 -> 07:42 AM) For those that have ever subscribed, I want to know can you get archived games as well? Like if I want to go back and watch Mark Buehrle's perfect game can I do that? Also, can I get games from previous years as well? Any info would be very much appreciated. Yes to all three. I was watching some games from 2005 via MLB.tv the other day. The games are usually archived around 1-2 hours after they finish.
  4. Not a good start from Griffith; 2.2 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 4 BB, 3 K, 2 HR, HBP.
  5. Charlotte vs. Gwinnett Torres starting Birmingham vs. Huntsville Winston-Salem vs. Lynchburg Postponed Kannapolis at Greenville Griffith to start Bristol off Great Falls at Helena
  6. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 02:14 AM) His last month or so has been really encouraging. It's a shame we don't have another 2 months or so of the minor league season so we could find out if his vastly improved plate discipline in August is for real, or if it's just a one month fluke. His defense is phenomenal, both according to the numbers and scouting reports, so if he hits he could become quite a prospect.
  7. Eduardo Escobar bumped up to 2nd in the order and he's responding; 2-2 currently with 2 stolen bases and 2 RBI's.
  8. Was Trading Brandon Allen a Mistake? In one of Kenny Williams’ lower profile moves from this season he dealt a young 1st base prospect, Brandon Allen, to the Diamondbacks for reliever Tony Pena. Since the trade Pena’s performances have been uninspiring, to say the least, and Brandon Allen has been destroying PCL pitching, resulting in a promotion to Arizona. So I find myself posing the question; was trading Brandon Allen a mistake? --------------------- Basically I break down Allen's numbers when in Reno and try to explain why they are somewhat misleading also I give my thoughts on what I expect from Allen going forward.
  9. Holmberg done; 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K. Santos Rodriguez on in relief.
  10. Charlotte vs. Gwinnett Egbert pitching Birmingham at West Tenn Winston-Salem at Salem Kannapolis at Greenville Leesman pitching Bristol vs. Pulaski GM1 Holmberg with the start Bristol vs. Pulaski GM2 Great Falls at Missoula
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 02:31 AM) I am pretty surprised to see Jonnie Lowe, Henry Mabee and Jacob Rasner on that list. I figured there would be other guys ahead of them. I don't mind Rasner or Mabee being there but Lowe and Cassel don't deserve a spot.
  12. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 02:05 AM) Charlis Burdie (apparently pronounced Charlie Birdie-ay) just keeps on putting up numbers. I really want to see him in an age appropriate league. I spoke too soon; 2 IP 3 ER, BS, L.

  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 01:54 AM) 9 errors and 6 PB so far in 40 games - seems awfully high as an error number for a catcher. That's 30+ errors in a full season. He's young though, so, we'll see. Yeah he appeared to have something of a meltdown yesterday with three of those errors and one of those passed balls, before that he was doing OK.
  15. Miguel Gonzalez keeps on hitting. 2-2 currently with a double. I really like him.
  16. QUOTE (SockMe @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 12:42 AM) ball 4 base hit right here Alex Does anything good ever happen when Hawk says that? It seems like that line results in an automatic strikeout.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 12:51 AM) That doesn't mean we need to like the errors. When people start praising his range I'll happily see them knock his error total.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 12:05 AM) Nix has 10 errors in 69 games worth of play this year. Only 51 of those were starts. Nix' defensive value comes from his range, not his error rating. I'm not sure how many times that needs to be pointed out.
  19. Charlotte off Birmingham at West Tenn Zaleski with the start Winston-Salem at Salem Justin Edwards starting Kannapolis at Greenville Sauer starting Bristol vs. Kingsport Great Falls at Missoula
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 10:24 PM) Good to see Cassel in there - after a big year in AA in 2008, he really bombed out in 2009, so he obviously needs some work. I think it's a wasted space personally. His big 2008 season was only big in regards to his great ERA, which isn't a good statistic for projecting a prospect, his K rate and K/BB rates were not good and I don't think Cassel has any Major League potential.
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 09:27 PM) http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....all-league.html I assume Jonnie Long is Johnnie Lowe? Yeah he means Lowe. Just got my post up on FutureSox.com: http://futuresox.com/frontpage/?p=1285
  22. QUOTE (jenks45monster @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 01:34 AM) That's fine. So he would be mine? Yes, well, assuming you want him. I should have edited the title before I moved it to a board I couldn't moderate.
  23. This would work better as an AAP, do you mind if I switch it up for you?
  24. QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 01:06 AM) How does DSL compare to other minor league levels? It's a considerably lower standard than US rookie ball, players either need to put up eye popping numbers or need to be really young in order to draw interest.
