QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 03:52 PM) I'm always completely nude when I post here so it's very easy for friends and family to know when I'm visiting the site. I think I'm in love.

QUOTE (IceCreamPants @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 12:55 PM) I ask this because recently I have had a strong suspicion that my fiancee has found out my dwellings around here and my old name was making it very easy. She has given clues by calling me shipps before which is possible thats just because people naturally give that as my nickname considering my last name. I just dont want her here. This is my place to talk to the guys and gals and be free to say whatever I want. Sometimes even more free than what I say to my real friends....wel actually probably not, but at least as free to speak. So if you are reading this ,Adrianne. Please leave. Don't you know your soul will be gone soon? You are now a collective, there is no Shipps anymore! You may as well change your screen name to ShippsAdrianne and give her your password.

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 03:29 PM) I wish Lance Broadway or Kyle McCullough were good enough to be ROOGYS

Ryan Hamme was demoted to GF, Jordan Cheatham was demoted to Kanny so that KW Jr. can get more at bats and Greg Paiml was demoted to W-S. Paiml was the kids jersey giveaway for the Barons due to his local ties.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 09:16 AM) I have created his exact replica in MLB 10 the Show. So there's that. I couldn't make him skinny enough in MLB 2K8.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 05:28 PM) Charlotte now has two open roster spots. Charlie Shirek was demoted back to B'ham and placed on the DL. The Knights have three players on the DL, Jeffrey Marquez, Greg Aquino and Josh Kroeger. All of which have been on the DL for the minimum 7 days. I'm guessing Marquez will be activated to fill the rotation opening and either Viciedo or Lillibridge will be sent down to take the other spot when Teahen is activated. Kroeger was activated.

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 10:41 PM) Don't know if it's because of the pitching coach (perhaps something altered mechanically) or maybe cause his stuff translates better in higher levels (that does happen at times with hitters or/and pitchers) but Leesman has been much better in AA than he was in single A. Still not completely sold yet, but he has held his own. Dusty Harvard had himself a night.. and so did Great Falls. It didn't start out so well though.

Ozzie will pitch him once over the next month.

Demoted back to B'ham and placed on the DL again.

The Red Sox will make a big push for him now that Youkilis is out for the year.
-
By the way, there is an open roster spot in Charlotte. EDIT: Two open roster spots now.

I got his autograph in 1993 when he was a catcher for the Blue Jays AA team in Knoxville.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 08:29 PM) Ian "2010's Seth Loman" Gac with a two-run double. Why those two haven't been promoted is beyond me.

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 05:01 PM) Nice day for Escobar. He is going to be one of the key guys for the Barons next year when they get good again. I hope you're right.

Will Sale wear the cursed #41??

QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 09:22 PM) This is an article that I found through mlbtraderumors, it's an interview with our minor league hitting coordinator. If you go all the way through there's also a link to an interview with our minor league pitching instructor and some other good links at the bottom of the page. I took the article with a grain of salt, especially the stuff about Jim Gallager http://www.thesportsbank.net/chicago-white...he-radar-names/ Marrero had an outstanding season last year, how in the hell do they consider what he's done this year to be progress? Christian would be happier if he was hitting like last year. Gallagher is a good ballplayer and I'm a fan, his ceiling would maybe be a Ross Gload type at most.

Average defense, not bad, not great. LF or RF only.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 05:28 PM) What do people think about Stefan Gartrell? He's got a .920 OPS against lefties this season. I know he's a bit old for a prosepct, but does anyone think he could be a cheap reserve OF for us next season? Has anyone seen him play and could comment on his defense? I watched him play in person for almost 2 years. Tremendous power to all fields, very patient at the plate, good athlete overall.

Torres comes up to start the second game of the DH, then he is demoted after the game is over. Sale is then promoted from Charlotte.
-
Sale would probably be promoted after Torres makes the start in the second game today if Torres is demoted afterwards.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 11:09 AM) Definitely sounds fishy. I don't understand the rush to promote Sale when Threets has done everything asked him. The only thing I can think of is that Threets, despite being a lefty, doesn't get lefties out at a great rate (this year at least and granted the sample size is small). They are batting .364 against him with a .825 OPS, righties on the other hand .190/.372. I know Sale might have something in his contract, but why not just wait til September. Carlos Torres. He was scratched from his start today in Charlotte.
