QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 01:33 PM) That's all he got for signing ..other than that, he gets paid the same as the other guys. Not a bad way to make a living.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 11:09 PM) Non-Voters are personally responsible for the slavery and lynchings in the south.. My college professor says so.. I wasn't aware those things were still going on.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 12:43 PM) How about Ozzie Guillen? He played for the Braves at the end of his career, and I think he even has playoff coaching experience. You forgot the green.

QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 12:41 PM) That was his signing bonus ..these guys who aren't early-mid round draft picks don't get paid very much at all ..BUT the White Sox do take better care of their players better than other teams. They pay them more, their food in spring training is better..etc. I know, just making sure he got more than just a grand.

Guillen, Williams almost come to blows during shouting match

QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 12:15 PM) What does that tell you about our amateur talent acquisition? That all falls on the GM to employ the right scouts and draft and sign the right players then make sure they are developed. If that is not happening, which it isnt, that is the GM's fault. Also, having someone tell Tyler Flowers to change his swing is counter productive. It's almost bordering on sabotage. -

This is what happens when you trade away every prospect you have. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 08:34 AM) Shirek pulled from his scheduled 6/8 start, no word as to why. Just pushed back a day, no worries. He pitched tonight (6/10), but got hit hard again.

QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 06:00 PM) OHHH another fact about Chase ...He wasn't drafted, but received a call asking him if he wanted to sign with organization as a free agent, of course he said yes ..they gave him the $1000 bonus he would have received had he been drafted, because they thought he should have been. I hope he got more than just that.

QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 05:57 PM) He absolutely is!! Whether people on here like or hate him, the guys he plays with love him. He's always playing jokes (putting eye black in Dan Blacks hat and convincing him the stuff on his forehead is his hat melting) ..and making them laugh, they have nothing but great times with Chase. They all see how well he plays when he gets batting time and they know he shouldn't be in Bristol ..they are all convinced he'll be moving up ..and these are the guys that see him every single day. Obviously I'm rooting for him, but if he doesn't go up..that's great too ..he can stay home with me! Nobody dislikes a guy who works hard and is blue collar all the way. By the way, you do realize people on here would love to hear his inside insight into the pitching prospects in the organization.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 09:02 PM) Who the f*** is Chase Blackwood??? Her soon to be husband, and a catcher in the organization.

Shirek pitches, guess nothing was wrong, just getting a extra day of rest. Didn't help though.

QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 05:42 PM) Just couldn't accept that someone genuinely liked Blackwood huh?!?! LMFAO ..It's ok, I respect everyone's opinion, they can all speak whatever they wish, it harms me none and motivates Chase ..So I let them say what they want and it won't get to me! No, it was more of just discovering the missing puzzle piece. I understand being a fan, you just seemed like it was on another level, like it is, that he's the love of your life. That's why it makes more sense.

QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 05:44 PM) I have NO idea ..He is going to be #26 in Bristol, he requested #18 because that's my favorite number, but it was already claimed! I guess the clubby in Winston-Salem is a Nazi.
-
QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 05:36 PM) LOL What does that explain?! ..Why I like him so much? Yeah, it all makes more sense now.
-
QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 05:29 PM) He didn't get to choose his number there. I don't see why not. There's no #26 jersey for Birmingham. There's actually no jerseys with 6's at all for some reason.
-
Can I offer some advice that you can pass on to Chase? If or when he comes back to Birmingham, there is a group of female stalkers that take thousands of pictures at the games and follow the players to wherever they go to party. They also try to get close to family members and girlfriends/wives. I know the players have to be nice, and I know they can't stand these women. A few are middle aged, a couple are young, a couple are weird and hideous. Just a warning for Chase and for you if you visit him if he's ever in B'ham again. We'll make room for you in our section that way you can be close to the home dugout if you ever come down here.

QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ May 21, 2010 -> 01:48 PM) **FUN FACTS** Favorite food: Spaghetti Favorite color: Black Favorite number: 26 Favorite music: Reggae Blackwood is the middle child and only son to Rori and Martin Blackwood. His father's middle name is "B". His mother is a breast cancer survivor. Why didn't he wear 26 when he was with Winston-Salem? I know they have a #26 jersey.

That means you're robbing the cradle then.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 05:09 PM) I knew it! Chase Blackwood is your fiance. That explains a whole HELL of a lot.

QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) C's - Dan Black, Chase Blackwood and Dylan Tonneson to Bristol. Rob Vaughn to GF. Pitchers - Ryan Buch to Bristol. Curry, Burnside,Thompson, Simmons, Garcia to GF Matt Harughty to Bristol, Piteno to Bristol .. Jeff Tezak to GF, Rob Cummings to GF, Ryan Lee to GF, Ryan Hamme to GF, Kyle Davis to GF, Juan Silverio to GF I can tell you more tomorrow. Of course this can change, depending on who signs and who doesn't. Jeez, how'd you find out all that?
-
QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 02:51 PM) As of now he's going to Bristol. Do you know where more players are being assigned?
-
QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 02:43 PM) The only catcher going to GF so far is Rob Vaughn. Ryan Buch is going to Bristol for a couple starts, then to Kanny on the 27th. (so I hear) Dylan Tonneson likely could end up in Great Falls.

Nevermind, I saw what you wrote in his AAP.
