  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 02:19 PM) I thought green = sarcasm? That was what I meant, just didn't use green at first.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 02:14 PM) Ryan Sweeney recently complained about how the Sox always used to try to make him change his swing. He needed to.
  3. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 01:57 PM) White Sox prospects are not allowed to struggle, they are not allowed any margin of error. Fixed it.
  4. Go to Dairy Queen right now and try this...I've lost track of how many I've had. Strawberry Golden Oreo Blizzard

QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 12:58 PM) Or, just search the internet and avoid the movie. That works too.
  6. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) Hud The Stud allowed a 2-run HR following another walk. 2 IP, 1 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K White Sox prospects are not allowed to struggle, they are not allowed any margin of error.
  7. Flowers hit a ball so far in Mobile that the umps couldn't tell if it was fair or foul. He would hit balls in batting practice over the giant centerfield speaker at Regions Park. That would be 500 feet. If you're concerned about him not panning out, consider that the White Sox didn't draft him to begin with.
  8. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 11:45 AM) I like players who actually hit the ball, for starters. Flowers does.
  9. The hardest hit balls I've ever seen were by Tyler Flowers, Mike Stanton and Ryan Braun.
  10. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) Who holds the record for the longest home run at US Cellular Field? Hit the ball hard, never said how far. Do you not like players who hit the ball hard? Have you seen so many infield flyballs that you don't remember what it's like to see someone hit the ball perfectly?
  11. Flowers actually has plate discipline, incredible plate discipline. I'm sure most of his K's are looking, not swinging. Most of them were looking last season when I saw him play.

If you watch "The Spirit" long enough, you are rewarded with Eva Mendes bare assed.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 12, 2010 -> 10:04 AM) Yeah I need to start watching cinematic masterpieces such as Land of the Lost and The Spirit. Laugh, it's supposed to be funny.
  14. QUOTE (Mattchoo @ Jun 13, 2010 -> 09:48 AM) I cannot envision AJ getting traded tonight. Flowers is just not good enough. I think the Sox should trade Flowers before it's too late. By the way, this is coming from an huge Flowers fan since we acquired him. The only other player I've seen hit the ball as hard as Flowers is Mike Stanton.
  15. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 12, 2010 -> 07:19 PM) You're Chase's favorite!! haha I've been reading all these things to him, mostly he just laughs about it and says "That's fine". That's because I support the players, all of them. They're "our" guys, as someone on here once said. Unfortunately, there are people on this board who have the attitude that if a player is not a top 30 prospect, he isn't s**t. If a player is doing well, it doesn't matter to some people if he's not one of the big names. Some just don't respect the minor league players, they're just currency to them. If I could play catcher for a rookie level team, I'd be thrilled to death, and I don't even like playing catcher. There's a reason why guys play minor league or independant ball until they're 35-40 years old. There are just some posters on Soxtalk that are basically nothing buy haters, jealous that they are not pro baseball players and have their spouse supporting them every step of the way. Since I cannot play my favorite sport, I can at least enjoy the season tickets I have for the Barons. And, I'll always be out there to support those guys, because I know they appreciate it. I have a $200 baseball glove given to me personally by Micah Schnurstein to prove that appreciation.
  16. The Dash are close to clinching the first half title, so I imagine we'll see some changes in about a week. Brandon Short has 93 hits in 62 games, which leads the Carolina League.
  17. All she ever said was that he works hard and doesn't let adversity get in his way. She never claimed he was Barry Bonds. What's wrong with hard workers in the organization? I wish I could play pro ball, even if was in the lower minors.
  18. I'm sure if he gets a chance to catch Chris Sale, you guys will be lining up to hear what he had to say about it.

Watched "The Spirit," "Land Of The Lost" and "Religulous." Liked all three, plenty of eye candy in "The Spirit."

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 09:11 AM) Reluctantly agreed to watch Grey Gardens over the weekend with my wife and it turned out to be quite interesting. Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange were terrific. And it's based on a true story. You have a vagina.
  21. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 11:47 PM) Just pushed back a day, no worries. He pitched tonight (6/10), but got hit hard again. Now he's on the DL.
  22. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 02:42 PM) Not when you love Baseball as much as Chase does!! It's a good thing I love it too ..when he's home, it's Sports center ALL DAY EVERY DAY!! HAHA Do you guys have the MLB Network? It puts ESPN to shame.
  23. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 11, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) Chase will be home tonight and will be home until the 14th ..If you can think of some specific questions you would like to ask, he said he would be happy to answer them as long as it's something he's allowed to!! There are some bits of information that they aren't allowed to just tell people! We'll give you tonight for personal time. Set up a thread in Future Sox for questions and he can answer them tomorrow.
