QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:36 AM) Ely was one guy I really would have liked to hold onto....kinda puts a downer on things for me... Yeah, I hate to see Ely go as well. Very friendly guy in person, I think he has a lot of potential.

Link and Ely are both good guys, I wish them well.

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:32 AM) Ely and Link http://twitter.com/jonmorosi/status/6702106304 D'Oh!

Toronto is going to turn around and trade Michael Taylor to Oakland for Brett Wallace.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:20 AM) Do people really think KW would give up Hudson for Juan Pierre? lol. It's obviously not Hudson since there are two players going back to the Dodgers. But, never say never with Williams.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:10 AM) I'll be pretty ticked if one of the guys is Santos. If he develops control, then yes it would suck to see him go. But from what I saw this past season, I wouldn't hold my breath.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:06 AM) Neither of those guys have real value. I don't think that's the level of pitcher we are talking about here. I think its more like guys who have higher ceilings than that. I'd go with the list including guys like: Ely, Link, Shirek, Torres, Nunez, Santeliz, Harrell, Omogrosso, Hynick. But NOT Hudson, or Bellamy. I wish we knew who it was though. For $4M/year over two years, and giving up (probably) nothing huge, I like this deal. Pierre is a decent OBP and speed guy, plays OK defense except for an awful arm, and comes cheap. Now, as others have said, we just need a power bat to bolster the DH position, from the left side. I would not be surprised if it was Thome. I'm not saying those guys aren't possible. I hope they're not. I'd say McCulloch would definitely have to be on the list though. Like I said before, I'm hoping this is part 2 of the Thome deal and the White Sox aren't giving up too much talent in return.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:04 AM) Maybe the guy from Colorado whose name I can not spell properly. The Dodgers probably have a list of five or six guys to choose from. Who is that?
-
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 11:01 AM) Possibly Link, Torres, Santeliz or Santos too Santos definitely is possible, he was showcased in the AFL.
-
"The pitchers on the list are all pitchers who could pitch in the big leagues by 2010, the source said." Okay, then McCulloch and Derek Rodriguez.
-
In a nutshell, I'd be shocked if Kyle McCulloch is not one of the two.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 10:47 AM) I will in heaven if those are the type of guys we gave up. The thing that scares me is that we got a bunch of cash. Even with the Dodgers paying part of the salary, I think they just wanted to unload him. So, McCulloch and Infante would be enough to part with Pierre. Plus, keep in mind the White Sox did the Dodgers a solid in the Thome deal. They got Thome for practically nothing, this is part 2 of that deal.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 10:44 AM) People need to stop worrying about the payroll. This is the old $0.50 argument yet he seems to always find the smart money when it is needed. He will play poor to get cash with players and then add the prospect wheather it is Ryan Rupe, Royce Ring or Ryan Meaux to give the team giving the cash something to hope for. Jenks will not be a salary dump. This trade came about because the Dodgers could not get a better offer and KW most likely forced their hand. I think Vlad Guerrero comes here to DH. The bench is looking pretty loaded now if there is a backup catcher signed. If it is Buck, won't the Sox then have two of the three pieces that KC got for Beltran? John Buck? He signed with Toronto.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 10:41 AM) Love to see who we gave up. Not thrilled about this move at all but he's definitely better than the options we had. Better not have gave up much. I'm gonna say it was Kyle McCulloch and Gregory Infante.

I have Aaron Rodgers and he had his worst game all season in my first round playoff game. I lost by 30 and nobody in my starting lineup scored a TD. I had Rodgers, J. Stewart, Shady McCoy, Justin Forsett, Vincent Jackson, Greg Jennings, Robert Meachem, the Ravens D/ST & Garrett Hartley.
-
The White Sox also resigned Dylan Axelrod.

I found the info about the signings on Baseball America's site.

Just though I'd post this if anybody was interested. I meant to do it a while back but forgot. Barons YouTube

Also, the Future Sox Twitter page was referenced on MLB Trade Rumors in regard to these signings.

IF Freddie Bynum and OF T.J. Bohn. Both will be 30 to start next season and will likely be playing for Charlotte.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 11:47 AM) What are some of the players the Sox might look to get from the Rays for Jenks? Jeremy Hellickson?

QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 04:46 PM) Everyone charges extra for Setanta, it's a premium channel. La Liga is on ESPN now actually and seems to be once a week, but I've only noticed Barcelona games. I might have to look into the cost then.
