QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 04:21 PM) Seriously? That's ridiculous. Yeah, so I use the checks.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 02:15 PM) I write checks for rent... For the mortgage, they charge $4 extra to pay online.

I got a 9.69% raise due to being grossly underpaid.

Gettin' paid...more. Which actually already happened without any effort on my part.

Does anybody like Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash? It's only available October through December for some reason, but I love it.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 01:03 AM) The cartoon selection back in the 70s/80s are so much better than what kids get today. Kids of today are really at a disadvantage to their programming. It seems that most programming today is targetted at really small children or the teen/adult crowd. I have done my best to purchase or locate the content from my youth to help my children see some of the cool stuff that I grew up with. So far my son has really fallen in love with a lot of the same programs that I grew up with. Sure kids today have the cartoon network but there is only so many times you can see Spongebob Squarepants, Chowder, and the other silly things that get repeated like 30 times a day. The current Saturday morning programming is a joke. Thank god for streaming internet sites, dvd collections, and media platforms like my ps3 to help bring this content to the current generation. Bugs Bunny/Road Runner show Voltron (Vehilcle and Lion ) Robotech Thundercats Superfriends Battle of the Planets Ultraman/Spectraman Mighty Mouse Tennesse Tuxedo Woody Woodpecker Hell Tex Avery cartoons in general Tom and Jerry Peabody and Sherman Show Rocky and Bullwinkle Captain Caveman Scooby Doo Dynamutt The Bannana Split show Magilla Gorilla Atom Ant Wonderbug Hong Kong Fooey Popeye Show Hell TV programming in general has changed to the wrong side now. Friday and Saturday night used to have actual programming as it was family night. I miss sitcoms, I mis s the Saturday night TV programming. I am sick and tired of damn reality TV. We are at the 7th level of hell in reality TV programming when some of the B list celebrities are getting reality shows. There is actually a show called Conveyorbelt of Love on TV. This is when you see we have reached maximum meatball status. I have Tom and Jerry checks. They used to be scenes that filled up the whole check, now they are just stylized with the two in the center.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 11:54 AM) I remember when school didn't get called off for piddly little six inch snow falls... They shut down everything in Alabama when there is a mild threat of snow. The grocery stores run out of milk and bread.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 04:21 PM) Ah ok. Ya I remember something to that extent, but I got Viciedo and C.J. Retherford mixed up in names, but remember that whole height thread. C.J. is 5'11" for sure too.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 10:27 PM) I still think he will end up in RF. I mean it makes too much sense especially for his cannon of an arm, not to mention we are very weak in RF prospects. Hell even LF I can end up seeing. (Pierre is here for two years, which I'll almost bank that is how long it might take for 20 year old Viciedo to develop in AAA, not to mention if Q is still around as the future RF) I don't think I want a 5'11 (I remember JPN saying he's actually shorter than that like 5'9-5'10) guy manning that position. (especially with errant throws to 1B.. would save alot of errors having a taller 1B there even if his D isn't that great) Nah, he's at least 5'11".

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 01:33 PM) Being a Chicago native since birth, I should be used to the incredibly cold weather. Unfortunately, I hate it more than anything. Lately I have been trying to battle this with many north face coats, wool coats, etc and I never seem to be warm enough. Walking a dog at 11pm down madison st at night is frankly painful for me. I have been looking into down coats etc lately. The question is, what jackets, hats, etc do YOU use to stay warm? Well, it's as cold down here as it ever gets. I usually go with either a blue and green plaid hoodie or a black pea coat.

I don't know if it's Beckham's debut with them, but AC Milan is taking on Genoa live on Fox Soccer Channel right now. Plus, he's playing a winger postion instead of midfield.

QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Jan 5, 2010 -> 09:15 AM) I remember Bozo and Ray Rayner. I never fulfilled my dream of playing the grand prize game on Bozo.

QUOTE (juddling @ Jan 5, 2010 -> 12:21 AM) usually the music director had it marked somewhere how long the intro was so you could hit it if you tried. Man....sometimes i miss those radio days. My PD had the intro listed on the log, I just couldn't hit it. I used a 360 audio bank to record my ad liners.

QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 11:34 PM) Where you using records or carts? We had a little count down thing to tell us when the lyrics started so we could nail it everytime. Software. BigEdWalsh would be most familiar with the station I worked on.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) DC really isn't like that anymore. Birmingham is bad, bad dangerous, not to mention the 10% sales tax. That's why I moved to Hoover in 2006 and recently moved to Pelham.

QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) Two things stand out to me. One, it's so easy to get music today. When I was a freshman in college (1990), one of my friends used to call the local UofI Urbana oldies station and request "Brown Eyed Girl." Then he'd add, "I'm taping it, so please don't talk over the beginning music." I bet he recorded it ten times with the guy talking up the song right up to the first lyric. I guess that's a little better than me watching Friday Night Videos and taping songs by holding my little radio with the cassetted player up to the tv speakers. That's called the intro, DJ's talk over the music until the lyrics start. It's actually very hard to perfect. When I was a DJ, I could never do it right.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 08:12 PM) Well, clearly you've never been to Washington DC. There's street signs but it doesn't matter, because none of them actually lead anywhere. But Atlanta's layout looks like it was planned by a drunken ass redneck with a crayon, and has been pointed out, all of them are named Peach-something. Nope, I don't want to get shot. And, yes.

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) Catherine Keener, actress in many good indie films but probably most famous for playing the gf in 'The 40 Year Old Virgin'. Also, who is that angry, ultra conservative skinny blonde who is always running her mouth on all the cable news shows? Always forget her name. One more: Chelsea Lately Keener is in good shape for a woman her age.

I made some stupid, stupid decisions because of AOL.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 4, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) I remember in 1995 when I first signed up for AOL. It was so awesome to hear, "Welcome!" My first IM was from someone I didn't know typing, "m/f?". I replied with, "Up Yours!" I thought someone was calling me a Mother F*****.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 09:26 PM) When you were headed to an unfamiliar place and you had to call a friend and use their crappy ass directions instead of looking it up online or plugging it into a GPS, and there was a chance you'd get lost and have to find a pay phone. Street signs. Unless you're in Atlanta, that's the only place that doesn't have enough street signs.
