QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 05:23 PM) If you take the test instead of going to the birth, I guarantee you get on the show. Hmmm...

QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 04:10 PM) I think I read somewhere the Show's got an unplayable Single A team for franchise mode, but I can't find it now. If it isn't all three playable, then I'm not interested. I'll wait until 2011 and play 2K8 again.
-
I've said before he reminds me of Craig Biggio, now he's doing a reverse Biggio.

For those who care, in MLB 2K10, you can only play the AA and AAA teams in franchise mode. There are no A teams. I think it's the same the MLB 10 The Show as well. That's a deal breaker for me. I'll stick with MLB 2K8 another season.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 08:17 AM) You sure about that? It's green when I select the color from the palette. I've never heard of green mustard.

I would, but I may be at the hospital with a childbirth thing the night of the test.

QUOTE (scenario @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 11:58 AM) A's prospect Grant Desme retiring from baseball to join the priesthood? I'm sure that has probably happened before, but I can't remember anybody getting as far as he has and then escaping to the cloth. "Desme is leaving baseball at a time when his fortunes seemed to be rising fast. He batted .288 with 31 home runs and 89 RBIs in 131 games last year. Then he starred in the Arizona Fall League, where some of the game’s top prospects compete each year." We'll.... he'll make a helluva church league player. Maybe I'll get to meet him one day if he comes to the TV network I work at.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 01:13 PM) I talked to someone last night that told me the current plan is for Trayce Thompson to spend next season in full-season A ball. That could change if Trayce struggles in minor league camp though and shows that he would be better fitted with extensive coaching (Fall League). He is incredibly raw, but the person I talked to last night was absolutely raving about his tools and long-term potential. Ryan Sweeney was rushed to AA in my opinion back in 2005 and he looked overmatched all season. He did hustle though. I hope they don't do that with Thompson.

Sit down for this one...the White Sox signed Jeff Hulett. He's a utility player, beware Justin Fuller.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 20, 2010 -> 03:40 PM) Does mustard color signify hatred? That is green.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jan 20, 2010 -> 03:15 PM) I’m still picking up the pieces of my shattered soul from my crushing defeat at the hands of Cubano in the ROY voting last year. Hopefully, I’ll be able to rebound and look towards the future. They don't have a jackass poster category, T-Bolt.

Tim Tebow to appear in anti-abortion Super Bowl ad
JPN366 replied to Balta1701's topic in The Filibuster
Personally, I am Pro Life. For scientific reasons, not any moral or religious convictions. But, I know it's only right and fair for abortion to be legal. If I knew someone who was considering abortion, I would try to convince them to not go through with it or at least consider it a last resort and to consider adoption. But, I know it's ultimately their choice. Technically, I guess I am both Pro Life and Pro Choice. I may get flamed for this, but not everything is so black and white, especially abortion. I try to be reasonable about it. The Pro Life movement spends too much of their time trying to change laws when they would do better to try to change hearts and minds. I'm certainly not sticking up for any organization that is racist or bigoted by any means. I just think people need to come to the middle to find peace. -

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 19, 2010 -> 04:10 PM) You can't fault the Bills for trying. At the end of the day, it's just not an attractive option. There's not enough talent there to win, but it's too talented to be one of the worst teams in the league and ending up with a top 5 draft pick. Instead, they are consistently stuck with a pick between 7-12 and just haven't gotten any impact player from that position. They don't have a franchise QB, and Brohm might be the only QB with tools capable of starting at some point in the future. The left tackle entering the season was like a 7th round pick from the previous season and was still raw, their OLine is mediocre, their starting running back is closing in on 30 (though he's playing younger than that), their backup running back is a 1st round bust who should get released this offseason because he's not very good and he's an idiot. The best wide receiver on the team likely won't be returning; not because he doesn't want to, but because the front office doesn't want him. The #2 receiver used to be a great deep threat but now he's not any more intimidating than Dennis Northcutt, the TE's are pretty much garbage with Shawn Nelson being the only one with a lick of potential. The defense had talent, but fired their defensive coordinator from the previous season because he took over as interim coach and the team wanted someone else. He's now in New York. The special teams was arguably the best special teams returning unit in the entire NFL (though probably behind the Cleveland Cribbs' special teams), but they lost that coach too. It's a sad situation, and the team needs a great pick, some bold moves, or for Zeus himself to play quarterback. You forgot that they might relocate...to Canada.

QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 19, 2010 -> 12:47 PM) Before we accept that, maybe he did need some advice. Maybe he should consider a "Prince Albert?"

QUOTE (scenario @ Jan 19, 2010 -> 11:23 AM) The speed number itself (average time = 4.15 seconds going from home to first) based on very small sample (2 at-bats?) tells us very little. Especially when you consider that the difference between "average" and "above average" is only 1/10th of a second. I think it's more significant that out of the 45 players evaluated, only 10 had a higher grade. He covers a lot of ground in the outfield, I think his speed is good enough.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 1, 2009 -> 08:43 PM) I feel really weird asking about this, but I'm uncircumcised and over the past few weeks my girlfriend has been dropping hints that she wants me to do the snipp snipp. I will admit my ding dong does look kinda strange right now but I read that its rather painful and that it can take off inches. What are your guys thoughts, being some of my closest friends here on ST. Thanks guys. If you do it, she owe's you BIG TIME. See what you can bargain out of her.
