Arizona Fall League
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 15, 2009 -> 11:20 AM) Long also had an injury prior to the Sox drafting him. Oh, okay. Didn't realize they both had similar histories.

Top-5 prospects Kenny will trade this offseason
QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 25, 2009 -> 05:56 PM) Who had Egbert in the pool? Early win for you, even if it wasn't a trade per say lol. Me.

Arizona Fall League
Matt Long pitched pretty well with the Barons once he moved into the rotation.

Arizona Fall League
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 04:35 PM) I believe Long had Tommy John on his elbow in 04, two years before the Sox drafted him. As of the draft he was supposed to have plus-heat and a plus-curve. That sounds like Omogrosso, but I could be wrong.

QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 03:04 PM) RBI ground out for Danks. Retherford RBI triple. I love this guy as much as Hawk. That's just C.J. being C.J.

Arizona Fall League
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 03:22 PM) If he can do that and not get hammered, that's a good sign, because he doesn't really have any plus stuff. He's control-reliant. I didn't understand why he couldn't get in a good groove during the season this year.

QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 02:26 PM) I really wish someone on here loved Chevelle as much as me. Their new cd really is their best. You all need to check it out, "Sci-Fi Crimes" I do. "Roswell's Spell" is my favorite song on the album.

Arizona Fall League
QUOTE (scenario @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 10:27 AM) He has a good arm. In junior college (and when he started at ASU) he was a pitcher. But his coach at Arizona State said he thought CJ might end up as a catcher if he made it to MLB. Bottom line is the kid is a ballplayer... can play pretty much any position... and did in college. In fact, in one game he both pitched and caught in the same inning. LOL. He can hit like a mofo.

Arizona Fall League
QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 10:14 AM) I hope Retherford does really well in this league. I wonder if he could catch and be an emergency 3rd catcher if Flowers and Pierzynski are in the same lineup. How's his arm? He can throw a wet tennis ball pretty far.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 10:10 AM) I've heard that he can hit 100 with movement. Sounds like the White Sox love his arm. Yep, but the movement causes him to have no control.

**Official Twins vs. Yankees Thread**
Can we safely assume that Nick Punto is the Dewayne Wise of the Twins and vice versa? You think Ozzie was trying to copy that formula?

**Official Twins vs. Yankees Thread**
Next year it will be piss, shoestrings and snow. Oh golly gee whiz!

**Official Twins vs. Yankees Thread**
Just goes to show you that you can only do so much with piss and shoestrings. Way to go Twins!

FutureSox Post-Season Top Prospects List
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 11, 2009 -> 02:50 PM) Ima go out on a limb and say Jim Gallagher is a huge sleeper next year. Every level he goes up, he gets better. I liked what I saw of him. Great glove at first, good hitter at the plate. He used the same bat most of the games I saw, sounds like he always made good contact. He can drive the ball good to the gaps, would've been homers if not at Regions, he can hit singles, doubles and triples, good RBI producer. All around good player.

FutureSox Post-Season Top Prospects List
QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Oct 11, 2009 -> 04:58 PM) BTW I found this interesting too. I looked at a scouting report for Brent Morel when he was drafted, which says: That bolded part really caught my attention. I wonder if the Sox ever thought about that? With Beckham appearing to have captured 3B and Morel looking like a really solid player, a successful transition to catcher would raise his prospect status and trade value a ton. I'd say that's maybe a good idea. Other than Phegley, who'll likely be in W-S to start 2010, nobody would be in the way of him playing catcher at B'ham, where he'll likely be in 2010. For what it's worth, my top 5 was Flowers, Hudson, Viciedo, Retherford and Marrero.

Young, Studly, Under Team Control Outfielders
QUOTE (scenario @ Oct 10, 2009 -> 07:59 PM) I still think Aaron Cunningham would be a really nice pick-up. He's under the proverbial radar... a spare piece in the Oakland outfield... Start by offering them Josh Fields. Add another player if necessary. You got my vote on that one, I love AC as a hitter.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 8, 2009 -> 11:31 PM) The entire Double AA roster minus D2. We have to give you new people to write about. There will be new guys in B'ham anyway. I'm only expecting a few repeaters for 2010.

Ranking these guys is all subjective anyway.

Dewayne Wise Declares Free Agency
So he declines being outrighted to Charlotte, which by the way is close to his hometown, declares free agency, will probably wind up with another AAA club, when he could have remained with the White Sox, the only place he's likely to see the Majors???

Dewayne Wise Declares Free Agency
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 12:05 PM) He'll sign with the Nats. Hit .333 in 666 PA. 35 HR's 25 outfield assists, 120 RBI, make 5 game saving catches then become a key figure on Obama's staff. 222 hits in one year, does he even have 222 career hits?

Discussion: Project Prospect's Top 25 pitchers
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 8, 2009 -> 06:41 PM) If he's the 3rd best pitching prospect in baseball, Kenny needs to trade him ASAP and this is coming from the guy that was jizzing all over Huddy when I saw him this past spring. I wouldn't trade him at all. But, if he was to be traded, what would be a good return?

Discussion: Project Prospect's Top 25 pitchers
Considering the success he's had this year, I'd say it's fair.
