  1. QUOTE (black jack @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 12:06 PM) did anyone else click to see the remix? Would she let Colby get to fifth base?
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) Throw her in, and you got a deal.
  3. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 11:19 PM) No he doesn't. Today is the second game since July first Freese hasn't started, and all but one of those starts has been at 3rd base. Descalso has played more SS than anywhere else since Freese came off the DL. My bad, I was thinking they platooned. Didn't realize Descalso played shortstop too.
  4. I have a feeling that Tyler Kuhn is being kept in AA to up his trade value. I've had that feeling for almost 2 months now. I could see the Cards liking him.
  5. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 06:05 PM) Do you think they will bench Freese for Teahen? He already platoons with Daniel Descalso.
  6. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 09:40 PM) People also are ignoring the fact that elite relievers come and go. Linebrink used to be elite, what's happened to Jonathan Broxton? Brian Wilson wasn't always this good. What happened to Bobby Jenks? George Sherrill was good for 10 minutes. Joe Nathan. Cliff Politte. I could go on and on and on and on and on. Relievers are the MOST unpredictable players in baseball. Exactly.
  7. Jackson and Teahen to the Cards for Rasmus, Quentin and Pierre to Atlanta for Beachy and someone else?
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 03:39 PM) I'd shave my legs and buy a Gordon Gartrel if we could sell them on that.
  9. Lars Anderson could probably be had in a possible deal with Boston.
  10. Could the Cards be sold on adding Teahen to the deal? He might thrive under La Russa and in that offense. They really don't have an everyday third basemen.
  11. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 11:46 PM) Good comp. by the numbers. Ravelo doesn't walk either. It's the same story. He's young enough to develop the power, but Gilmore obviously didn't and then of course can he stick at third? Gilmore certainly looks like he should have power, he's a f***ing horse.
  12. Thus why no one else claimed him off waivers.

Going to see 10 Years Saturday night at Workplay Theater in downtown Birmingham. Super psyched. This will be the 5th time I've seen them live, 3rd time at Workplay. The previous times were at Zydeco and B & A Warehouse, both in downtown Birmingham. Zydeco's a dump though. All three places are smaller clubs, so you're close to the band. Workplay is awesome because they don't allow smoking inside, has great acoustics, has plenty of places to sit, tables, booths, or you can just stand up near the stage and is just perfect to see a show at. 10 Years is also fantastic live. Great energy, always a great show. Where you at, Sonik22?

The real question is, why the hell hasn't Jeff locked Jordan down? I would've married her back in '09 if I was him.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 07:59 PM) Nevin Griffith is bad. He wears contacts (I would assume) when he pitches, I think he just needs to wear his glasses instead. I know for certain he wears glasses when he's not pitching.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 21, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) When I read that statement comparing Phegley and Viciedo, I assumed it was talking about his bat development. Viciedo's bat wasn't there at all his first year, it wasn't until last year that his bat really started picking up to good levels. With Phegley missing nearly all of last year, I can see why he could get lumped into that boat. Hopefully this means JPN really likes his bat. I do like his power, it's surprising. My statement about him and Viciedo was that people had nothing but negatives to say about him when the facts are that they were both doing well and improving. Phegley's batting average definitely needs work, but so far he's done well in AAA. My main point about Phegley is that if he's well liked by the pitchers in the system, then as long as he can bring a .250 average at the big league level, with some power, then he'll have a long career. All around the league, there are starting catchers who aren't exactly offensive forces. But, the pitchers like them. Carlos Ruiz isn't the starter for Philly because he tears the cover off the ball. I wasn't aware Kevin Goldstein had spent so much time in my hometown watching Barons games since last summer. I'm seriously getting tired of reading people make these negative statements about Phegley's defense when they haven't seen him enough to make even a flash evaluation. He needs work on passed balls, blocking in the dirt, period. His defense isn't anywhere near a concern or worrisome. I know I'm not a professional scout, but I'm not blind and mentally handicapped either. I know baseball. I'd like to know how many games Goldstein has seen Phegley play. I doubt it's as many as I have.
  18. I think Phegley will surprise a lot of people. The negative reports on him are just the same as the negative reports on Viciedo...uninformed b***s***.
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 02:37 PM) I'll beat everyone else to it: Brandon Allen has homered in each of his last two games for ARI. Didn't he hit one of those like 500+ feet? Doesn't shock me. He has scary monster power.
  20. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 07:35 PM) That could also be the Charlotte manager. Remember he is learning to play LF. He hasn't begun to learn LF yet. The only time he's logged in LF was a few innings in the AAA All Star game, then he switched over to RF.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 04:28 PM) Sometimes when sarcasm is so obvious, I feel green to be unnecessary. Good point.
  22. QUOTE (LayelBurton @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 05:26 PM) Jonathan (J.C.) Casey assigned to Bristol from Great Falls Terry Doyle on the 7-Day disabled list retroactive to July 18, 2011. Nasty blister.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 02:46 PM) That's usually because their roster is unusually healthy though. True, but when they're sucking hard, some changes should be made.
