  1. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 02:29 PM) Bout time, now lets see if he keeps on hitting and becomes a legit prospect. As much as I like him, I do think he could use at least half of 2012 in AAA before he's fully ready.
  2. KW Jr. will break camp with the 2013 White Sox regardless, wearing #6...
  3. Kuhn not in the lineup tonight, maybe on his way to Charlotte?
  4. QUOTE (LayelBurton @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 09:12 PM) White Sox debut for LHP Brad Furnish: 2.0IP 5H 5R 4ER 2BB 0K as starter for Winston-Salem Short rest didn't help him. He threw 7 IP last Thursday.
  5. Don't count on the Barons game happening.
  6. McPherson to the DL, Ricks activated. I'm sure Ricks goes back on the DL tomorrow, either Kuhn is finally promoted or a AAAA type infielder is acquired to take the spot.
  7. QUOTE (gfbaseball @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 09:56 PM) It was a barn burner in Great Falls today, unfortunatly that describes the temperature and not the game. The Voyagers mustered just four hits and no runs on a beautiful 92 degree day. They didn't even get a runner to second base. Offensively there wasn't anybody worth mentioning. Sam Phippen pitched good in 5 innings striking out 6. The fifth inning he gave up a broken bat single and a walk that was followed up by a passed ball that put runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. An infield grounder to short next, that would have been a double play without the passed ball, and a drippler up third base line brought in the two runs Phippen gave up that inning. Take away that passed ball and I don't think Phippen gives up any runs that inning. Helena just got the breaks (broken bat pun intended) that inning. Rubber match tomorrow for the 4th. I wish it was only 92 here.
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 09:32 PM) Yeah I wrote that, needs updating. I doubt he's a closer, or at least not a prototypical one. His fastball barely scrapes 90. He's done well because, as Buddy Bell put it, he can "hit a gnat's ass on both sides of the plate", plus he can locate like that with 4 different pitches. He's also ballsy, doesn't walk guys, and has a funky delivery that makes the FB seem faster. If all goes well, he's a setup man: keeping guys off the base paths, stranding inherited runners with a high K total, and making the fireballing closer look like he's throwing that much faster. Not really that funky.
  9. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 09:51 PM) Wilkins went 4/5 with a 2B. 5 hits, a homer and 5 RBI.
  10. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) Can someone please give me a refresher course of what happened to Kyle Bellamy this year? Is he hurt? All I know is that he was put on the 60 day DL at the end of March. Guessing a major arm injury or arm surgery.
  11. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 10:45 PM) Kevan Smith: 2-3, 2B, HR, 3 RBI. Apparently pulled though, any idea why? I just realized Terry Doyle's name sounds identical to Bob Ueker's character (Harry Doyle) in Major League. Really just a random observation. I think Terry is in the wrong system though. Seems like the prototypical Twins-system pitcher. Won't blow you away with stuff, but won't walk people and just gets the job done. He's having a great year and hasn't posted an ERA above 3.00 in any year in the minors. That's insane. He probably deserves more hype. Anyone (Mr. Doyle?) have a scouting report? QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 12:44 AM) It was outstanding. Terry's an impressive pitcher. He works quick, Mark Buehrle like quick, he attacks hitters, doesn't nibble, trusts his defense and is incredibly composed. He pitches even better with runners on base.
  12. How about Terry Doyle. 8IP, 1R, 6 K's, 0BB, 103 pitches.
  13. QUOTE (LayelBurton @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 03:49 PM) Knights' Michael Restovich on the 7-Day disabled list again And that brings them to 24. I guess Zaleski is okay.
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 02:34 PM) Not at all, just that it's entirely possible and probably likely that Kuhn would go through a similar adjustment period and that he is not as good defensively as Morel. There is a drastic difference between the minors and the majors and the grass is not always greener. The infield dirt is rougher in Birmingham. They go through more balls than any other team.

    A Personal Note

Paying $19.99 to see a woman naked on a website doesn't mean she's your "wife."
  16. Cody Winiarski assigned to Great Falls, Marcus Semien assigned to Kannapolis.
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 01:06 PM) Then how is it wrong? If Morel is better defensively than Kuhn, isn't Kuhn worse on defense than Morel? I didn't SAY he was bad. I thought that was what you were implying.
  18. Godfather trilogy Scarface Most Hitchcock stuff, I have a set of 14 of his movies. 2001 This is stuff I want to watch.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) I saw it. There was some good stuff, but it isn't the legendary movie it has been turned into. It is a romantic comedy with sports. Eight Men Out is WAY better. If you subtract Susan Sarandon and add more baseball stuff, it would've been really good.
  20. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 12:32 AM) So that way Kuhn can come up and do the exact same thing Morel is doing offensively right now while being worse defensively? That's so wrong. Morel is better with the glove, but Kuhn is in no way bad. This myth that Kuhn is bad defensively needs to stop.
  21. I think we've become a collective consciousness.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 05:14 PM) JPN, please change your sig. Be a pal. I get sick to my stomach every time I see it. Sorry, can't do it. Gio made too good an impression on me personally to ever not support him.
