i am drunk in 2009
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 03:28 PM) So how was VEISHEA this year? Give it a B+/A-. Welch was shut down Saturday as police pepper sprayed some people by the fire station, but otherwise it was a grand drunken time.

Eleven - nil. Singled and doubled to death.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 09:04 PM) Romero's hurt. Jack Egbert just sucks. I'm so sick of these pitchers out of our minor leagues who throw 88 mph fastballs. I thought we were done with that terrible part in our franchise history? He threw 93-94 pre injury.

Pretty nice cleanup job by Jack, all told. Nice to see. First I've seen him pitch in a while....lot of movement.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 08:44 PM) Has anyone ever heard Egbert talk? Does he have that annoying Staten Island accent?

And Egbert throws the DP ball, and it gets screwed up at second. Rains/pours. One more, Jack.

Well, I'm watching now, hopefully my boy Egbert shuts em down.

And Brian promptly turns a ball that possibly could have been caught into a single into a double.

Didn't see Brian's atbat, but from what I read his double was opposite field? He seems to be a bit more comfortable (finally).

Mike MacDougal DFA'd
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 22, 2009 -> 02:35 PM) He did make 5 relief appearances for Charlotte and gave up runs in 3 of them. He wasn't too impressive there last year. The bottom line is if MacDougal showed any hope of turning it around, Egbert would be a minor leaguer right now. He most likely is in over his head, but it isn't his fault he is in that situation. He was coming off of injury last year and had a good spring this year. If his FB is indeed down its not a great sign, but it's not like he had an Arnie Munoz like debut.....he walked Nick Markakis and gave up a home run to Aubrey Huff.

LOL, yes, Egbert's crap because he gave up a walk and a HR in his major league debut. Maybe we can give him another outing.

So, if you register on TakingBackSunday.com, they give you a free download of their new title track, New Again. Kind of a throwback to their more rockish music, more upbeat. It's different without Fred Mascherino in the background, but this sounds very TBS, unlike Sink Into Me, which I liked once I first heard it on the radio, but would not have picked it out immediately as TBS.

Well, Carlos is on pace for about 100 homeruns or so this year. That kind of pace is a little unrealistic, so I'm gonna bump the projection down to about 85.
