QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 10:05 PM) Game should definitely be closer than the opening 24.5 line. I just wish someone would put the damn thing on TV. That's horrible. East Carolina-Central Florida is on TV at the same timeslot, . Maybe we'll lose Meyer on the flight down so we can start Arnaud or Bates. Not even so much as an internet feed. Next week, all 6 Big 12 games are televised.

Saw it. Expect State to try and completely control TOP like it did against Nebraska. I have a feeling we're going to put our only CB with any size, 6-2 Allen Bell on Crabtree. Just like I said about the Nebraska affair, if ISU can be on the plus side of turnovers for once, they have a chance to win.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 09:00 PM) Would be kind of funny if we dealt for Pierre, not Furcal. If by funny you mean retarded.

What's the episode where the three different patients die at the end, and the families say "I'm just glad there's someone that cared about him/her at the end"?

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 05:15 PM) UNI #1 in some of the D-IAA polls. Not that anyone but me cares, haha. I'd like to see Drake make it into the FCS playoffs. UNI has a habit of choking, but it turns out that their win against ISU might not have been over the worst BCS team ever ever.

ISU +25. That's a tempting play.

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 02:21 PM) I just heard that the wind's going to be blowing out to left field tomorrow. I really hope Arizona doesn't pitch Webb in game 4. Save him for game 5, because if you lose tomorrow and lose that game with him on the mound, you give the Cubs all the momentum in the world for game 5. What about the Cubs gives you any idea they have a chance to make it to game four? They've played bad fundamental baseball, as well as their pen blowing rather large testicles.

Why Not Owens?
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 12:19 PM) No, but he is arb-eligible through 09 according to Roto. Right now, I think that Greene, Furcal, and Renteria, or even better, the young guys those last 2 are blocking (Escobar and Hu) would be ideal targets for the Sox this offseason if they were to deal Jon Garland. I think that, if those guys perform up to the levels where they should, any of those deals solve an awful lot of our problems for next year. I sure wouldn't mind Furcal either.

Why Not Owens?
Could always see Garland and Uribe being shopped to the Pads for Kahlil Greene and others, unless I missed something and he was extended...

Why Not Owens?
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 09:20 AM) Only because of his arm. Otherwise, he is already better out there than some starting CF's in this league. A centerfielder that can consistently give up an extra base to a baserunner can really hurt a team. I don't like the fact that he has to double hop it to the cutoff guy.
-
Why Not Owens?
He's not a centerfielder.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 07:17 AM) I'm just glad I don't have to hear every Cub basher's mouth because the Cubs have lost. "OH MY GOD, THEY'RE THE BEST TEAM IN THE NL!!!!" "OH MY GOD, MY NEIGHBORS WILL BE SO MEAN TO ME!" I hope the people who b****ed all season about how afraid they were, or are, of the Cubs have been really giving it to Cub fans. Hell, I -- I of the, "Wrigley Field is beautiful, I don't mind the Cubs very much" mentality -- have really been giving it to Cub fans. And one Cub fan in particular.....if choo know what I mean. Christ, have you ever been there? I saw Maddux versus Felix Diaz a couple of years ago and it started to rain.....my dad and I got wet in a rain delay despite sitting in a totally protected area. The I-Cubs park is nicer.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 12:15 AM) I realized tonight that I am older than Justin Upton. I'm gonna go buy a case of beer and drink myself to sleep...OR NOT. It's depressing when you're older than some of these guys for the first time.

The Ideal Job
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 01:01 PM) The advantages of our line of work is that in a very short time we can (depending mainly on the corporate or private route taken) dictate our hours and pay scale. I don't mind the corporate route, but sometimes I do wish I went the other way. The good news is that in March and April I can really cash in if I want to. I thought winter months were better for the baby market....
