Well a few positives I noticed at the yard yesterday...
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 03:37 PM) All my trends continued today, other than Logan and Fields. Still, good to see this team has SOME positives. Really? I didn't see the game but it would seem like Triple-A Day didn't do all that well.

Players only Team meeting after the game
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 12:36 AM) I shouldn't even have to read Thome's name in a Sox loser thread or in any other threads for that matter unless of course that thread's title is "Players who are actually performing up to standards this season." The guy is having an outstanding season, kicking several forms of ass. Instead of Thome, Konerko and Dye need to step it up how about Konerko, Dye and Pierzynski or any of the other chumps currently showing up strictly for the paycheck need to get their collective heads out of their collective asses. It's demented that Pods has the highest slugging in your sig.

He's been working on developing his change, IIRC.

What do you suggest we do with Aardsma? I find it hard to believe his career has hit its apex.

What was that slider like pitch Aardsma threw newa the beginning of the year then?

I'd rather keep Kemp out of the clubhouse. I also doubt Buehrle gets 20 mil per.

6/9 Games
BHam wins 3-2 on a Vic Mercedes walkoff. Charlotte loses 8-7 in extras. Bourgoeis, Anderson and Tomas Perez finish with 3 hits each. Sweeney finishes with 2. Wasserman with another solid relief outing, while Babula blows it.

Happy 20,000 posts to me.

What would happen if we still had Freddy Garcia?
If Garcia was still on this team, the supervolcano under Yellowstone Park would have erupted in May of 07, causing widespread destruction. In retrospect, it's better we traded him.

Happy 20,000 posts to me.
Wow, I have wasted a LOT of time here. I blame Gage. He IM'ed me one night, and I've been here ever since kissing his ass every chance I get. And on a particularly slow night, we might as well have a thread glorifying me without Murcie or Spiff around.

Just an idea(Sox and Padres)
On the bright side, you look at that deal, and if none of the three resigns, you get more supplemental picks with Linebrink and Cameron than just Dye.

6/9 Games
Kannapolis kicks a late field goal, but still falls by two touchdowns, 18-6. Carter finishes 1-5, Shelby 2-4, and Gartrell with a knock. Oneli Perez spoils Gio's great effort, giving up one of Gio's runs and one of his own. MacDougal has a perfect inning. Anderson and Tomas Perez both with 2 hits so far.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 09:04 PM) Dye will still draw some interest for his power and not being overly expensive. But odds are, if he continues to hit this way, we won't get anything in return for him. If he heats up hopefully against NL pitching for the next 2 weeks, I could see the Dodgers making a run for him, and we could probably get a good MLB ready prospect if thats the case. Buehrle is our top trade chip right now, and we could probably get 2-3 really good young players from a contender from him right now. Braves are a possible suiter for him, IMO (Jarrod Salty!). Jose Contreras should have some good trade value as well. He is a veteran with good stuff still and signed for another couple of years, and is putting up good numbers so far this season. He has a no trade clause (limited?) I think, but I could see him waiving it for the Mets because of El Duque. The only problem with that is the Mets rotation has been lights out, but I don't think Hernandez will be dealing like this all season. The Braves are an option as well. Iguchi, we'd be better off keeping, and then deciding in the offseason if he is worth keeping. Mac and Aardsma both could bring something in. Of the two, I'd rather keep Mac because he does have better stuff and I think he is the better overall pitcher. Tell the Dodgers we want Ethier in exchange for Dye. I'd be surprised if we net much for Dye unless he starts heating up soon. He may be affordable, but he looks like he aged 5 years during the offseason. I think Buehrle would be the only one we'd regret trading. He'd bring back good talent, but he's the one guy I want to try hardest to resign. Count was the guy I wanted to move prior to this year. His season has gotten better, but he's still got that NTC. The only problem with dealing Iguchi is that our best inhouse replacements are Andy Gonzalez, Alex Cintron or Jason Bourgoeis, or possibly even Tomas Perez, all of which will make me vomit. That and there's no reason to trade either of Aardsma or MacDougal. we'd be trading both at lowest value.
