Sox @ Seattle, March 11
QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:35 PM) The way I see it is if you think you are ready and you play great in ST and earn the job, you should get. I really hate it when people use the term 'rushing' when the player earns the job. Rushing a player to the bigs is like what was done last year w/ Anderson. He didn't earn the job, but awarded the job. If Ryan is our starting CF this year, Ozzie will f*** him up. I guarantee it. I'd much rather have him try and continue to develop as a corner outfielder in Charlotte, because that is his future. Anderson wasn't rushed. He just didn't hit in the majors. 25 man roster? Is Anderson out??
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:38 PM) Perez can play the corner OF in the same sense as Paul Konerko can play CF. But if Paul can show enough grinder spirit, I'm sure that's good enough.

Sweeney could dearly use another year in AAA, so I'd like to see him fail in ST, as strange as it sounds. He has a chance to blossom in Charlotte, but would likely just be f***ed with in the majors. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 02:30 PM) There will literally be no one of interest pitching today. No Masset, Gonzalez, Danks or Floyd. Sweeney and Anderson's presence may be the only saving grace. I'm looking for some Matthew Inouye today. And God knows, everytime the Sox are on TV in Spring, we're gonna get some Rogo.

Rowand to the Sox??
QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 11, 2007 -> 11:53 AM) Ryan Sweeney and Luis Terrero are both above average defensively in CF... Back to Reed, I would be a big fan of getting him back. I have always liked him, and I think he has been underachieving these past 2 years. I think he can still turn into that .330/.370/.400 guy a lot of people thought he would be, like myself. And even if he does start at AAA, he still has more potential to be a leadoff hitter then Owens, plus he is a stud defensively. Like someone else said, he is like a younger but less polished form of Darin Erstad. One's not an actual CF, and the other one sucks.

Lisa Dergan needs to break him in half or something, that way, if he gets hurt, no one can feel too sorry....

Sweeney deep flyout. QUOTE(beck72 @ Mar 10, 2007 -> 03:31 PM) So Owens was the guy being "nonchalant" going after the ball according to Chris and Ed. He also can't throw worth a crap, so that doesn't help matters. BA's batting .286 now. For the love of God, keep it up. It's good for the team.- Sox vs. Oakland, March 10, 2:05 (SS)
Singleton said BA laid off a breaking ball off the plate...which will be good for him cause he had some serious trouble. BA sac fly to RF. Good for him.- Sox vs. Oakland, March 10, 2:05 (SS)

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 10, 2007 -> 03:28 PM) I'd rather not have Masset pitch today since tomorrow's game will be on CSN. I'd much rather see him pitch live for the first time this spring tomorrow. Touche. So would I. Crede doubles. He's on some sort of fire. - Sox vs. Oakland, March 10, 2:05 (SS)
