  1. Ahh yes....Aaron "Jesus" Rowand. Man never misplayed a ball in the outfield and never struck out on the slider low and away. And BA's 2nd half numbers this year don't actually look better than Aaron's from 2nd half 05 if he got equal playing time....
  2. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 04:44 PM) 3 ) No more excuses... I'm sick of hearing about future HOF'r Brian Anderson from his fan boy crew... I understand he's hitting .295 since the break but has even a one of those been a clutch hit... God forbid he drive in any important runs... Yet the guy who has one of the most natural swings in the organization in Ryan Sweeney is treated like crap on here... Say what you want about Aaron Rowand but he hardly ever hit below .270 for an extended period of time... And at least he could hit in the clutch! Get off of it. After Aaron was traded you were ecstatic that BA would get a chance. What has Sweeney shown you to make you believe he had a chance outside of one game?
  3. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) I have to say that Brandon "The Savior" McCarthy is overrated as well. He is definitely the most overrated pitcher on this team. He may have a great future, but his present is mediocre at best. He has not pitched well this season. He would not improve our rotation. If you have a 4.79 ERA as a reliever, what kind of ERA does that translate to as a starter? Undoubtedly over 5. We don't need another starter with an ERA over 5. McCarthy also cannot be counted on in close game situations as a reliever. I sure hope he develops and improves. I'm more than a little worried about him being in the rotation next year, which apparently is a certainty at this point. "The Fuse Is Lit?" How f***ing hilarious. Gotta love the mindless cheerleading though. However, after a game like this and what I expect from the west coast swing, that banner is going to make me even more depressed. If you don't like it, leave. We're not hosting a forum just to have people b**** at us.
  4. I hate Grady Sizemore so much.
  5. The evidence really mounts up against Brian.
  6. Setting the scene.......UNLV appears to complete a pass on 2nd down to a reciever at the ISU 15 or so wiht like 25 seconds left. It appaerared there was a fumble but no call. Since the clock was running, the UNLV QB got the team to the line with 2 seconds left and spiked it. All of a sudden, play stops. The call was under review for apprximately 10 minutes, and 5 seconds were put back on the clock, giving them third down. Five phantom seconds appeared out of nowhere....but it didn't matter as the final play took the time off the clock. Steichen passed it to the back of the endzone where the guy caught the ball out of bounds......then things got weird. ISU waited for about a minute atnd ran off the field. UNLV didn't leave. As ISU ran off, a UNLV player went to midfield and jumped up and down on the logo. That got the crowd pissed. Then UNLV refused to leave.....and no one knows why yet. About 15,000 of the 45,000 waited approximately 10 minutes until UNLV left. The players ran off like they had just won, jumping up and down and holding helmets high in the air. Strangest f***ing thing. On a side note, apparently I got tipsy before the game. I just felt buzzed but apparently it was hilarious. Row44 will be happy to know this. EDIT: The play was reversed.....it was initially ruled a fumble recovered by the receiver but then it was changed to incomplete.......but why did it take so damn long?
  7. ISU looked pretty damn good in the first half, then everything......stopped.
  8. That was f***ing weird. 16-10 ISU win, as it was sthe UNLV backup QB tearing us up. After the game, NLV refused to leave the field.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) Or a NAZI!! Better yet a CommieNazi.
  10. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 12:56 PM) Anderson must have killed Ozzie's favorite goldfish, because if a veteran CF is brought in next season, it will be a huge mistake. I'm still going with the "Brian's a commie" explanation.
  11. Lance Broadway would likely disappear in a deal like that.
  12. Yah, Lucas got DL'd. You forgot Eggy.
  13. Nary a mention of Boone. Tsk tsk.
  14. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...p&team=home Eeeeriely similar to a certain game last year.
  15. The bullpen minus Jenks was awesome tonight. Most of what Freddy did, even. Nice to see Logan come through exactly where we needed him, and MacD and Matt pulling our ass out of a fire.
  16. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 12:39 PM) Heads, I finally saw a poll on IA-1. Democratic candidate was up like 13 points. REALLY. I honestly thought Whalen would be closer, especially in a district that has supported Nussle for so long.
  17. Too bad the Clonies have a night game tomorrow, because Black Jack was by far my favorite fill in announcer last year.
  18. Announced on WGN that he'll fill in for Hawk tomorrow.
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:50 PM) BECAUSE BRIAN ANDERSON IS THE WORST THING EVER TO HAPPEN TO BASEBALL AND SHOULD NEVER PLAY AGAIN!!!! And, he's most likely a Communist.
