Ozzie's thoughts on Brian Anderson
QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:13 PM) If we are going to talk about not having cherry picking allowed, why not talk about the entire season. And if the entire season is the case, BA STINKS! There is no point in twitching this fact around at least this year. Perhaps, he will be better next year, but as far as this year is concerned, BA is a great disappointment. You know there's a friggin difference between one week, two months and an entire season.

Ozzie's thoughts on Brian Anderson
QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) He's looked pretty clueless over the last week. I'm not sure that's my definition of giving a damn. Give me a f***in break. You can cherry pick a f***in bad week for Alex Rodriguez and Albert Pujols.

Ozzie's thoughts on Brian Anderson
QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:03 PM) I don't mind anything Ozzie said about Anderson because he has had a very dissappointing season, and before the cheerleaders can put down their pom poms and rush to the computer, two decent months do not a season make. I don't understand why Anderson has a Hall of Fame wing here at soxtalk. A lot of it is because he's one of the few that actually look like they give a damn in the second half.

Ozzie's thoughts on Brian Anderson
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 12:45 PM) Brandon McCarthy sucked last year just check the numbers but if you're going to do that you'll probably want to ignore the fact that his ERA for the '05 season was lower than all five of the White Sox starters in 2006. Player A: .264/ .326 OBP/ .431 SLG/ 8 HR/ 35 RBI/ 16 BB/ 52 K/ 5 SB/276 AB Player B: .282/ .333 OBP/ .427 SLG/ 2 HR/ 12 RBI/ 8 BB/ 26 K/ 1 SB/124 AB Should be pretty easy to figure out B. A might be a little tougher....but it's interesting to note that if you double B's at-bats....he's essentially the same player with a few less home runs and RBI.

Ozzie's thoughts on Brian Anderson
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) The reason this is all bugging me is because it's so painfully obvious that Ozzie has no clue about his own players and team. Ozzie has no freakin idea how good of a player BA has become. You people act as if he' s Cy f***ing Young or something.

Ozzie's thoughts on Brian Anderson
IIRC, Brian has said he'd go to Winter Ball all along, but he mentioned that he wouldn't mind a break, or something along those lines.

Ozzie's thoughts on Brian Anderson
I wonder how many of you anti-Brian posters are this way just because he's not Aaron f***ing Rowand... I honestly think that's half the issue some people have with him. Cause he's not Aaron.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 12:17 AM) It's fun that you people can continue to speak in absolutes with absolutely no evidence to back it up. How about instead of using "man crush" over and over you give me some legit statistical proof to back up your claims? No, you can't do that because it's not possible. So the Sox need someone to get onbase???? Anderson is not capable of doing this huh? Over the past 3 months here are the OBPs for a select few players: Iguchi: .353 Uribe: .289 Crede: .329 Podsednik: .309 Pierzynski: .306 Anderson: .338 Yes, Anderson is far and large the worst hitter in the Sox lineup at getting on base, of course the stats don't back this up but hey what the f*** does that matter. You're just twisting the stats to back up your argument. You know as well as I that person's yearly stats paint a complete picture of their development and where they are.

Ozzie's thoughts on Brian Anderson
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 11:25 PM) He's "picking" on Brian?? Just so I'm clear, Ozzie should be saying what about Anderson's struggles? "Brian's our centerfielder. Today and next year and the year after that. End of discussion." And Anderson deserves to start in CF every game regardless of his performance at the plate. Wouldn't hurt. He's said stuff like that before.

That deadweight is like our 4th best hitter since the break.

Ozzie's thoughts on Brian Anderson
We need more speed in the outfield? Apparently he doesn't watch him out there. Maybe Brian needs to change his name to Aaron.

Despite the fact our O took a s***, Javy deserves a f***in hand. He manned up, it's a shame no one besides him and Sweeney did. Nice game, Javy. Nice game.

QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 08:07 PM) yea but dye and anderson deserve to be in if josh fields can play LF he deserves it more, and every other spot is pretty much nailed down unless he could teach himself ss Teach Fields to play second or something. Seriously though, Ryan is ahead of Fields for a spot in left.

Heads, here is some real catfishing . . .
We typically fished for carp at the lake in town. A lot of people don't exactly fish for catfish around NE Iowa...
