He'll start, but he won't be 100%. Lot's of interesting questions.... Will Albert Young finally break out? Will Drew Tate be healthy enough to pick on a shaky ISU pass defense? Can the Iowa DB's handle the ISU WR? Will ISU throw the f***in ball to Blythe? ISU should (theoretically) pick apart the Iowa secondary, but it seems like we've been trying too hard to f*** ourselves over.

AND THIS BALL GAME IS OVA!!!
QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 05:22 PM) So are we going to get a new "The Fuse Is Lit" banner now? And will it also be a joke after we lose 3 of the next 5? If you have an issue with how we do things, PM us. This is the last time you do this in public.

What would a playoff rotation look like right now? I'd have to go Garland, Vaz, Count, Buehrle.

Whatever happened to the payment chart you worked out? Doesn't 1000 bucks get someone of your choice banned?

Help earn Soxtalk.com some $$
http://bleepingidiots.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10213 I signed us up for an opportunity to make up to $125 for the boards. BleepingIdiots.com has a contest going on in which the best boards will win prizes. What you have to do is register over there and make 10 posts before you vote for us. If you vote without 10 posts, we lose your vote and we need as many as we can get right now. I thought we could at least give this a shot. The contest is run by a Soxtalk member, Sam, who we're pretty sure isn't a crook. The cash would go directly back into the site (or a funny hat for Jason). If you're into this sort of thing, go for it. -- I'll also add, if you don't want to do this, it's no big deal. We aren't planning on it or anything, it'd just be something to keep this place humming. Iowa State football has already killed me inside, so a loss of any potential cash won't hurt much.

2006 Congressional Elections Thread
I think it's a lot of growth in communities like Decorah and along the US 20 corridor from Waterloo east. It's nice near me, dammit. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 11:12 AM) From what I have been reading lately, northeastern Iowa has found itself moving that way anyway. The northeastern corner of IA, particularly in the driftless area, has become a popular spot for exurbanites to build homes, communes and various compounds. Also a very popular place for organic farmers. The rest of Iowa on the other hand (aside from Des Moines), with the loss of the Farm Democrats, has trended right. Sort of an interesting duality going on there. I just noticed this....what the heck does that mean?

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 10:44 AM) I'll even go out on a limb and say when it comes to "stuff", I'm far more impressed with Vasquez than Brandon. At least with Vasquez you can see why he's major league, despite his problems this year. I don't think anyone ever claimed Brandon has better stuff than Javy.......Javy's problem has always been putting it together.

Yup, I just saw the poll showing Braley ahead of Whalen 54-41....meaning the Eastern part of Iowa will switch from red to blue should everything hold.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 10:29 AM) Peyton Manning has a freakishly long neck, it's disturbing. He has now passed Chris Bosh and Mark Prior for most brontosaurus like athlete. If you're into that sort of thing.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 10:47 PM) Well I guess I should be happy that Peyton won (even though I hate him). I was rooting for the Giants, but in the big picture its good for the Bears that both the Cowboys and Giants lost (afterall, while I expect the Bears to win the division, its always good when two teams that will likely be in the thick of the playoff race lose). And I'm sorta happy the Bears won, both cause I had them in Pick'em and my fantasy team has the Bears D. Do you feel as dirty as I do now after saying that?

And that's a White Sox loser
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 08:07 AM) I just also mentioned 3 situations where Guillen used Brandon to start off innings, in times where he would have effectively been a starter, coming in with games tied, and him needing to suck up innings to give his team a chance to score and win the game. All 3 of them in a row, he gave up runs in his very first inning out there. Tell me how effective he would be as a starter if he gave up runs in the first inning in every outing? He'd be half our starting staff.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) Anyone who says Anderson has been clutch is insane. He has more "worthless" hits when the game is out of hand then anyone on the team. Indeedy.
