The Official, "What I did today thread"
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 08:03 PM) Played the best round of golf of my life. I shot a 96 losing just 3 golf balls. This was keeping the real score, any out of bouns penalties counted, if I lost the ball I hit a provisional, no mulligans, nothing. I was totally impressed cause I was playing one of the hardest courses in California (well it was just ranked as one of the 5 toughest new courses in the US). Only flaws was I 3 putted the last 3 holes when I was about 9 feet away looking at par each time (it was rather pathetic). And on the final 2 holes of the front I shot a double and triple bogey. Aside from that I was really on. Had 2 300 plus drives (one 311, the other 300...give or take a few yards depending on pin placement). Ya, it may not be an impressive score, but I'm way cocky now about my golf game and look forward to going back out in a few days only to get my ass kicked in. Psh.....why do you only play 9 holes?

New Idea for leadoff hitter next year
I really don't think that leadoff is something that Pascual Matos couldn't handle. Man's got skillz.

Charlotte wins 4-3. Randolph 6 IP 1 H. Fields 2-4; Sweeney 2-3 2 RBI. Logan 1 IP, H, K, W (2-1); Garza vs Tracey Friday. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...ox&did=milb Birmingham OFF WS wins 11-6. Hansen 3-5, 2 HR; Lucy HR. Perez 1 IP, ER, 0 R (0.47 ERA); Rodriguez, 7 IP, 7 H, 2ER http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...ox&did=milb Kanny loses 9-0. Flores and Farfan bad, Chirino and Omogrosso on fire. Chirino 2.1 IP, 0 H, 1 BB, 3 K. Omogrosso 1 IP, 0 H, K. Coming into tonight, lefties hitting .045 against Brian. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...ox&did=milb GF wins 4-1. Williamson 7 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 8 K. Lost no hitter on triple in seventh. Shelby with an error that allowed the first baserunner. Madsen 3-4 (.357) http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...helrok_grfrok_1 Bristol loses 13-5 in thirteen. Stires .1 IP, 5 BB, but no hits, so I suppose that's a plus. Jason's boy Woodson not so good either. Texeira has that ERA down to 0.47 with 1 H and 2 K in 2 IP. Gartrell 3-6. Jacob Jean screwed up in the thirteenth, allowing 8 runs, 6 earned, on 3 hits and four walks. Bristol pitchers walked 16, which generally doesn't work. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...brlrok_brirok_1

Series Preview: White Sox @ Blue Jays
QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 07:41 PM) i still think a white sox sweep prediction is a little generous... I'm Mr Sunshine. Also, 2-3 is definitley in the realm. I'll ban myself for a day (only a day cause work needs to be done around here... ) if we don't.

Series Preview: White Sox @ Blue Jays
The last two Jays' pitchers in the series needs to get their spiff together then, because they've looked like crap. That and I think we can beat Halladay. We step it up against good pitchers. It'll also help if Thome and Paul are back against Doc, cause they can work the count and get him out of there earlier.

Midseason Top 20 coming soon
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 03:26 PM) I can't even think of or find 20 prospects in our system that I would want to rank. I tried to make a list, but I had too many 23 year olds in A ball on my list, so I gave up. Pretty scary how raw and thin our talent level is right now. We were pretty close to cutting the list off after 5.

Recruiting Thread
Apparently he was a silent committment to ISU, but nothing's been said to back that up. And now he's a Hawk. I guess Ferentz decided he wanted top Iowa recruits again. Hawk fans are still pissed about Blythe though. I swear he's the best in the Big 12 at shoving a DB and getting away with it.

Series Preview: White Sox @ Blue Jays
Series Preview: White Sox @ Blue Jays By Alex E. The White Sox fell out of the Wild Card lead on Wednesday night as the Royals took advantage of the weather and morbid Sox pitching to salvage a win in the finale. The Sox now go to Toronto trying to push one of the other few Wild Card contenders out of the race for the seeable future. READ MORE

Midseason Top 20 coming soon
Broadway's done well, though. Also, although the Met is a pitcher's heaven, Lance has better BAA numbers and the like on the road.
