There have been at least 6 incidents in the past five years when a streetlight has turned off as I walked under it.

A little off topic, but the night before the Columbia disaster, my dad asked me to download "Space Oddity" for him. We thought that was beyond creepy.

Once you have a kid, I'm pretty sure that they are priority numero uno. I'm not a parent, but I generally thought that was how it worked. If you don't want to spend more time to work through the stuff with your kid, look into additional education opportunities or tutors. Normally, there will be some upperclassman or some kid at the high school that does get the stuff that would be willing to work with the girl, free of charge.

Ugh. Loans. The nice thing I have going at ISU is my work-study job. I worked 3 hrs a week @ 6.50 and had more than enough money to cover incidentals that semester. I started with 200 in that account and it's around 400 now. At the beginning of my second semester, I was able to switch to have my current 4 hours a week credited against my student loans through the university. It's 26 bucks a week, just change, I know, but even something like 300-400 bucks that I don't have to pay back later on my student loans is gravy.
