I'm trying All-star with Pared's and I'm liking it...I'm 0-2 but I honestly know it's my own fault I lsot.

Spring Training photos thread
The smile on Frank's face is awesome. For some of you more medically inclined people....for a right handed batter which calf would be more important in generating a swing? I would tend to think the right but I may be mixed up.

Brian Anderson to start in AAA
QUOTE(Beastly @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) I hope Politte doesn't faulter tho if he does, I hope Brandon comes up. He's a great insurance policy if El Duque goes down. I think thats one of the only reasons Kenny Williams signed Hernandez is that he has McCarthy to fill in for him. Adkins should begin on the club, I have not liked what I have seen from Cotts thus far. How does Politte fit in?

Colorado held on. Texas has to be back on the bubble now. Let's hope that the state of Texas is finished off tomorrow.

Brian Anderson to start in AAA
He was just assigned to minor league camp. I'd be shocked if he's anyplace besides the Queen City.

Ever Get Made Fun Of?
QUOTE(Yossarian @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 01:06 PM) That's a hard question to answer. In high school teams with really good pitching can dominate. It's not unusual for a hot shot high school pitcher to have 18-20 K's in a 7 inning game. Some have K'd all 21. What you will find is a great disparity between the top teams and the also rans. There is a much wider gap at the high school level than in the minor leagues, let alone MLB. The really good high school teams will have team batting averages over .350. Notre Dame High School of Niles, last years IHSA AA baseball champs had a team batting average of .358 going into the quarter finals (elite 8) of the tournament. Joliet Catholic, the state runner up was batting .374 and had a team ERA under 1. A friend of mine who plans to play catcher at Wartburg (D3 in Iowa) said the goals they set for this year was win conference, make it to state and bat .375 as a team.

Your studly admin....
QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) We really have some basketball talent on this site. That's cool that you can play at your high school and not be that great. My school is so huge it's very hard to make a varsity sport. Either your parents suck the cocks of the coaches or you are super talented in order to make the team. As for my basketball season, I averaged about 10 points a game in intermurals. My team was awful, something like 5-15. My best game was 20 points against another sophmore team and we won by 2. We have 500 students 9-12 and 20 guys out for basketball. I was like one of 12 guys that dressed every game.

I'm partial to Wake myself but I decided to go with the Clones. They'll need a sharpshooter.

Your studly admin....
We had our winter sports banquet tonite. Look at these monster numbers one of your admins put up for his career. 24 games, 1-5 3pt., 2-9 2 pt., 2-5 FT, 9 total points, .4 ppg, high game - 3, 1 OReb, 3 DReb, .2 rbg, 2 fouls b****es. Seriously though, I'm so glad I went out. It was so worth it. Better than that jackass Jason and his intramural badminton.

Stud catching prospect available
I'd much rather have Davis than House until House could prove he's a suitable major league backup. As far as a 1b/DH for when/if Paulie leaves....we already have one. His name is Ross and he likes talking about how lucky he is to have gotten his wife.

I do have to say Brandon impresses me more and more the more I hear about him.

Levine on Borchard's stock + Harris to Milwaukee?
Of course we could do it, have Valdez or Ozuna as the backup IF and with Mackowiak being able to play cOF we could just get rid of Timo.

Ever Get Made Fun Of?
People don't like baseball here. Also, what's a reasonable team batting average for high school?

Levine on Borchard's stock + Harris to Milwaukee?
I'd find it hard to believe that we could only get Mackowiak (sp) for both of them. Maybe a PTBNL also. I'd like Mackowiak. However, there's such a glut at COF and could he play SS?

Brian Anderson to start in AAA
He was there last year but never got a chance to produce. He was the Southern League batting champ in 2003....that's why he was my origiinal sleeper.
