Benetti to Tigers
I actually think he's got a pretty good voice for it. I'd be interested in knowing why some people don't like him - earnestly, because I thought he was more than fine. I think Amin is one of the best announcers out there. Monaco is fine, maybe he'd grow on me. He seems very generic.

Benetti to Tigers
I may be the only person voicing this opinion but I liked McKnight as a fill-in and would be okay with him. My first choice is Adam Amin however (won't happen)

'23 -'24 Free Agency
I think the amount of time spent worrying about anything in free agency is time wasted with our rotation, like I said earlier. Without at least three more major league starters its not worth even considering worrying about how we are attempting to win.

'23 -'24 Free Agency
And that's the internal decision to be seen and what they need to decide. Are they (misguided or not) trying to win? Is this a punt year? How does that 14 million factor in? To me you can't realistically think you're a contender with a rotation of Dylan Cease and 12 children in 4 different trench coats. So you're gonna spend money on something, so it might as well be on Tim to run out 2024.

'23 -'24 Free Agency
I guess I think if they're thinking they won't be competitive, Colson will be the guy starting late '24 into '25, and Tim is fine in the clubhouse? Bring him back, whatever you replace him with will be bad and very short term. $14 million for him beats most of the options and doesn't really hamstring you.

'23 -'24 Free Agency
They haven't earned the benefit of the doubt. I think they rushed Colas due to his age and investment. There's bits of useful baseball player in there, but I fear the Sox already screwed the pooch on him.

'23 -'24 Free Agency
I guess I'm weighing the Anderson decision on if they think they can compete and if they're going to spend on anything else. If they're not gonna spend on anything and they think they'll suck, you might as well spend on Tim unless you're going to put Lenyn there for a year til Colson is ready. I'm as willing to burn it all down as anyone, but unless he's destroying the clubhouse, I think bringing him back is the option unless it isn't

'23 -'24 Free Agency
To follow up, my Tim decision is purely predicted on whatever you think he is in the clubhouse (which we truly don't know). If he's a problem, he's gone. If you honestly think he's a net 0 to a net positive you bring him back as there's no real reason to think we compete next year. You're not blocking Colson yet. He's still one of the more popular players we have. And there's some reason to think his year was injury fueled. Bad year + bad team = whatever. Bad year + good team = we are good in spite of him. Good year + bad team = move him. Good year + good team = well that'd be neat.

'23 -'24 Free Agency
I'll be shocked if one of Merrifield or Frazier aren't on the team next year. TBH, the Anderson decision will signal so much about what's going to happen. I actually think in a vacuum you bring back Tim because the price isn't outrageous in comparison to what you'll spend for terrible options at the position, but it isn't a vacuum.

Literally the only issue I have with letting TA move on is whatever idea we have to replace him

per Merk- Baseball America
Just a heads up for something I discovered a few weeks ago - I use the Libby app to check out ebooks through my local library, and surprised to see that they offer Baseball America as part of the magazines you can electronically check out. Thought it might be worth letting some of our minor league followers know that if they have a library card, it might be worth checking the Libby app to see if you have free access to BA.- 2023 College Football Thread
