It's not really irrelevant when you're discussing his trade last year.

The argument isn't really "they knew what they were getting into". It's that these teams can do better by these players without overextending themselves.

In terms of short term relievers that pitched for us, Anthony Swarzak deserves nothing but love.

I'm not sure how everybody can be wrong, but they are. Swarzak was absolutely not "pretty bad". He also did not command any more than Cordell, with no track record to speak of. I'm actually more incensed at calling Swarzak bad for us. If this is pretty bad, god help any reliever we have that isn't Mariano Rivera. If the confirmation vote is already decided, I guess I have no issue with people like Heitkamp voting for confirmation if they think it will help them. But I agree that it won't win/lose them an election.

Anyways, like I said, I'm not gonna let me get this down. Out of Giolito, Renteria and Jeanmar, I bet two of the three are gone in two years, and it's not Lucas.

That's fair, but I also agree with what fathom has said in the past that when you know they're around their limit, getting them out of there. Lucas was over 100 pitches, which is well after when he usually loses his stuff.

I'm not particularly concerned about his stamina, this organization has had numerous issues, that hasn't been one. Like I said before though, I understand the bullpen is deeply flawed, but I have no clue why we even brought Lucas back out.
