They haven't been awful before tonight aside from the Kentucky game. Tough schedule to start any year between Kentucky, Florida, Michigan State, Utah, and Georgetown. They don't look as good as years past though.

This will shock and amaze all of you, but Iowa State landed a transfer today. Deonte Burton from Marquette, picked Iowa State over UCLA, presumably after seeing how the Bruins game went.

I know everyone is excited for Iowa State/Drake but UNI/Iowa in the Big 4 nightcap should be a fun game.

Sox acquire Jeff Samardzija and Michael Ynoa
What a douchey column. "I don't like Jeff Samardzija anymore because he's now on the South Side. Let's now discuss any possible way this could go wrong."

Sox Actively Shopping Viciedo
It'd be interesting to see if we target Ackley. Could try and work in Catcher in the Rye references then.

Sox to introduce Samardzija, Robertson, Melky on CSN
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but Samadzija seems pretty damn pumped to be on the White Sox. He's also quite loquacious.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 09:25 AM) I really don't like that this Iowa State team appears to soft-pedal it when they get a lead, especially against a lower level team. Signals potential danger later. And the pre-game technical was just incredibly stupid. I think the last game was a case of it being like their third game in six days, coupled with the fact that a bunch of them made a night of it after beating Iowa.

Sox sign Melky Cabrera
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 13, 2014 -> 11:31 PM) My god Rick Hahn on fire. He's just swinging his dick around at this point.

Iowa doesn't have anyone that can create. Pretty good effort without Dejean-Jones and McKay.

Suspended for one game. The Ames cops are pretty damn lenient these days.

And Iowa State loses Dejean-Jones to a freaking drug house arrest. What an idiot.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 09:06 AM) The BIG is a conference that is short on elite teams but also short on terrible teams. You line the BIG up 1-14 against most conferences and you are going to lose a lot of matchups at the top but win a lot of them in the middle/bottom. Where does Nebraska versus Incarnate Word slot?

Oh God, his handling of the questions about the Cubs from Boers and Bernstein was fantastic. His audible sigh when asked about the Cubs was great.

Sox Actively Shopping Viciedo
Bob Nightengale @BNightengale The #WhiteSox, who are searching the marketplace for another OF and bullpen help, are telling teams that LF Dayan Viciedo is available. Trader Rick is apparently not done. Nothing that we didn't know, but Nightingale often has the best and most relevant info.

Hard to argue with very much of what he's done. I mean you can but you can't argue that he hasn't tried a lot to improve the on field product into something immediately.
