  1. Sounds like something might be announced soon.
  2. Whoops, now with 99% in, Santorum leads by 5 votes.
  3. Santorum with his victory speech as he's trailing.
  4. And Romney takes the lead by 62.
  5. I think most of the outstanding precincts are in Linn, Johnson, Scott, Dubuque, and especially Story counties, which Mitt's all winning.
  6. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 10:59 PM) in case of a tie, Vanilla Ice actually does become the default winner. it's in the Iowa state constitution. It's all coming together nicely for you. Santorum lead of 37.
  7. For s***s and giggles, I'd love to see this somehow end in a tie.
  8. Michele Bachmann does realize 95% of caucusgoers didn't pick her in her "home state" right?
  9. At 92%, Romney now holds that 13 vote lead.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 10:12 PM) Santorum put everything into this state...practically living there for much of the last year. Romney just fought back the final week/s when things finally turned against Gingrich and all the soft money destroyed him...Swift Boat/Bush vs. McCain/Perot/Kerry tactics Paul did well...Santorum seemingly got the entire Huckabee vote. 4th place allows Gingrich to live on a bit longer, Bachmann and Perry are pretty much done, although Perry will try to rally in South Carolina with his homespun speech. By the way, as a native Iowan...we have one of the best educational systems in the U.S., although we do get the leftovers from the Chicago suburbs who can't get into Northwestern or Illinois, haha. Those are the same college kids who got so firmly behind Obama in 2008 and helped turn the state for him. Instead of all those college kids being clustered in Johnson and Story counties, a lot of them were spread out in their home counties which really did help.
  11. CNN currently has Santorum with a 13 vote lead over Romney.
  12. I'd be surprised if Romney doesn't pull this out.
  13. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 08:47 PM) Iowa is just a bunch of drunk hillbillies. unless someone i like wins. then they have probably managed to sober up for a couple weeks, get a GED, and actually made a reasonable decision. There's no chance that Vanilla Ice wins.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 08:23 PM) What is it, like 15% of eligible voters will actually turn out here? Something like that. People don't even realize that Republicans are easily the number three group in Iowa behind independents and democrats.
  15. Guessing it goes: Romney Paul Santorum Gingrich Perry Bachmann
  16. NBC stepping out on a limb with "Too Early to Call"
  17. CNN's way too early polling shows a top tier including Romney, Paul and Santorum.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 3, 2012 -> 05:22 PM) Congrats Iowa for propelling Rick Santorum to 3rd place. Great job! It bothers me that people think this represents our state as a whole.
  19. It's the big night here.
  20. I'm not even sure what fight you're trying to start here.
  21. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 2, 2012 -> 06:07 PM) Big 12 PRIDE The conference played more entertaining football all season long at a higher level.
  22. Imagine that, the Big Ten still sucking.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 04:08 PM) Don't forget also clearing nearly $10 million on Teahen. Esp. if we happen to sign that Cuban guy. If the intent of that move was truly to clear salary, then Frasor never should have been a target.
  24. I think the return is more than OK for Frasor, but it didn't make me any less frustrated that he was the prize for Edwin Jackson, who I thought should have been worth a more dynamic package than he and Stewart.
