  1. So........Iowa State is 2.5 point favorites at Drake tonight. If you're a sports better, that's gotta be an intriguing line. ISU beat Drake in Ames by 48 last year, and won in Des Moines by 20 two years ago.
  2. Regardless of what happens, Caldwell cannot be the coach next year.
  3. He can get a good night's sleep though thanks to NyQuil.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 08:32 PM) It's $18 million, and you know as well as I do that half the teams in the league will find a way to make that happen if he's available. There would clearly need to be rebuilding, but that's why they'll be having almost 3 first round picks this year. But you're also getting rid of a guy who is arguably the best player in NFL history. This isn't a Brett Favre deal. Peyton Manning's a whole different animal.
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 08:15 PM) If Colts get 1, they can trade down get a ridiculous stock pile of picks and pick another QB later on. Brees for Vick worked out well. Back before the Colts sucked major donkey balls, I thought Landry Jones or even Kellen Moore could be decent fits.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) You have to trade 1 of them. I don't care that the new cap rules would make it possible to hold on to both. There is just too much value tied up in the qb position. Someone would empty 2 drafts for either of those guys, that would rebuild to Colts for 5 years. What do you do then? Trade the greatest QB of all time? Trade one of the top draft picks since then? It's a tough call. I'd lean towards keeping Manning, but it's tough.
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 07:31 PM) If Indy gets #1, it would be dumb to not draft him. Peyton Manning is a unique situation. We've seen that he's apparently worth 10 wins a year. I think the decision will have to do with how healthy Peyton is come draft day.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 03:46 PM) Well at least we still have that. I know it has been 30 years since they beat someone who mattered, but I still love seeing them in it. We can debate the definition of mattering, but they did beat Oklahoma last year. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 06:56 PM) Welcome to the party, please wipe your feet at the door. Beer's in the fridge. Enjoy it.
  9. I have no idea how the Colts want to handle this. It'd be great if Luck could sit behind Peyton. Don't think that's an option though.
  10. With the NBA season dead, gotta imagine a lot of NCAA games will bump up on ESPN. Should be nice.
  11. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 02:13 PM) As much as college football has sucked for my teams this year, I'm going to enjoy the oncoming BCS cluster. If Arky beats LSU and OU beats Okie State, all hell breaks loose. Make it happen. Or just cheer for ISU to beat OK State on Friday night. ESPN at 7 PM, replacing Heat/Cavs.
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 14, 2011 -> 10:06 AM) When the f*** was this? I was probably chilling in my dorm lounge with people. Not a big partier. SoxTalk = ultimate downtime site. SLaM can kill a LOT of time.

  15. Heads22 replied to Heads22's topic in SLaM
    buhhhh buh buh buh
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) He woulda fouled out in the first half 20 mins, 10 pts (4-4 fg), 5 reb, 2 fouls. He won't have to start, so I'll take that.
  17. This has to be Lowery's last season, doesn't it?
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 09:08 PM) We lost to a division 2 team. Awesome. Too bad you didn't have Booker's three point acumen.
  19. Big 12 football is entertaining if nothing else.
  20. QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 06:12 PM) I'm very curious to see how TCU does in the new Big 12. They have to do at least as well as A&M has. Wonder if they can blow leads with similar gusto to A&M......
  21. The TCU/Boise game gets a clutch pass interference flag. We're not done yet.
  22. TCU/Boise or A&M/K State? wow.
  23. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 01:51 PM) Transfer U in a battle with Lehigh. Book the first big off the bench, Heads? http://youtu.be/1IdZkGnVBas Royce White is special. Knocked some of the cobwebs off today. Won 86-77, but ISU was up something like 26 in the second half and then proceeded to give not a f***. Team misses Diante Garrett though. Booker was the first big off of the bench. Hit a three for us.
  24. So which one of these Spartan players will transfer to Iowa State after the season?
