Sox "expect" Buehrle back
Twenty over two years or twenty a year? The latter wouldn't make sense. I envision him getting about 12 a year. I want to see Stewart get a shot. I apparently only saw him when he didn't suck, though.

Sox "expect" Buehrle back
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 01:30 PM) That article made it sound like Mark's return would screw things up in part because of Humber and Stewart who both reeked the last half. Mark's return isn't making anything inconvenient IMO. What do you guys think of the two of them? Are they just average or 2 guys to get excited about? Don't forget how bad Danks was his rookie season. Sometimes, guys just need to get the innings and learn about pitching. Both have rotation potential. Humber was once considered a top prospect in baseball.

New York Times has Mizzou to the SEC. Hopefully the Big 12 can add BYU, West Virginia and Louisville and leave it at that unless ND would be willing to come in non-football sports.

ISU losing at Mizzou was one of the saddest efforts I've seen out of an ISU team in a long time.

Robin Ventura Named White Sox Manager
This is fun to read, because I don't think anyone knows what they are arguing about anymore. Everything we've heard about Robin leads one to believe he's very baseball smart.

As someone who works in sports, the loyalty that the Sox show is kind of heartening in some respects.

Robin Ventura Named White Sox Manager
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) That is great and all but, what about KW identifing the problems that existed and still does in the FRONT OFFICE and it is him! I'm guessing he found a guy he can work with. If that sentiment involves the Dunn move at all, I still call shenanigans on anyone who says that move was stupid. But that's a different argument for a different thread.

Robin Ventura Named White Sox Manager
I won't get on anyone for questioning this move for a lack of experience, but that is only one factor determining Robin's success.

Robin Ventura Named White Sox Manager
A few things: I 100% agree with fathom. I understand people being unhappy with hiring a guy with no experience, but (I agree with Jason here) I'm guessing that KW identified the problems that existed in the clubhouse and figured that Robin would be a good fit to fix those issues. A managerial job is about looking at matchups, yes, but being able to manage the clubhouse is a much bigger part of it. That's where he'll have to earn his lunch money. I know I always draw everything back to Iowa State, but it's exactly like when they hired Fred Hoiberg as head coach.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) Rumors that two more Big East schools will be on the way. I'm assuming Louisville and West Virginia, but I suppose Cincy could be one. Hope so. I would also be ok with BYU and Cincy to go to 14.

And people wonder why ND Nation is often criticized as arrogant. http://www.ndsmcobserver.com/sports/irish-...-bowl-1.2621050 Plus Brian Kelly let a kid die.

But I wouldn't be surprised if they start getting more TV time with the talent they are loading up. Every game but the Providence game at South Padre this year is televised. National TV, not so much til the tourney. The Michigan game is on BTN. The game vs Kansas and at Oklahoma are on ESPN or ESPN2, at Tech is on ESPN2, at Texas is on LHN, and vs. Texas, vs. Oklahoma State, @ Baylor and vs. Texas Tech are all on ESPNU.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Sep 29, 2011 -> 08:59 PM) There are contradicting reports out there. Texas apparently is not interested in adding TCU because Texas wants the DFW market for themselves. Other reports from yesterday were indicating BYU and TCU were the most likely choices. A potential huge issue for TCU is the same Big East conference exit rule that is keeping Syracuse and Pitt from going to the ACC for 27 months. The 6 potential teams I have heard are BYU, TCU, Louisville, West Virginia, Boise State, and Cincinnati. However, unless enough teams leave to dissolve Big East rules, then it's a moot point for 27 months for the Big East potential teams. My preference in order would be... Louisville West Virginia BYU Cincinnati TCU Boise State Those would likely be their top 6 choices. If expansion to 10: BYU 12: BYU, Louisville, WVU (may not be able to get, so replace with Cinci/TCU) 14: BYU, Louisville, WVU, Cincy, TCU
