QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 08:36 PM) guys most of this twitter breaking news has been bulls***. This is no less valid than anything else, a writer from the Washington Examiner in Big East country seems to be spitting out info left and right: Key alumni groups of #Georgetown #USF,#UCONN,all welcome the idea of #Kansas,#KansasState,#IowaState,#Missouri to #BIGEAST 2 minutes ago via mobile web Top #BigEast brass welcome talks with #Kansas, #KansasState,#Missouri & #IowaState. big push by #cincinnati and #Louisville to add them 10 minutes ago via mobile web For those asking about #Texas and #TexasA&M to the #BIGTEN. Not going to happen! PAC 16 offers a better long term deal. about 2 hours ago via mobile web #Kansas, #KansasState, #IowaState and #MO will talk to the #BigEast about an expanded #BigEast. about 3 hours ago via mobile web I can confirm that Kansas, Kansas State, MO. and Iowa State are starting talks with The Big East.A 12 team FB Conf & a 20 BB cinf. about 3 hours ago via mobile web

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 07:26 PM) How did Texas Tech become the whipping boy in all this Big 12 conference talk? Tech was founded in 1923 and every single school in the Big 12 and Big 10 have had at least a 33 year head start in the Big 12 and 53 years in the Big 10. Hell, Indiana and Michigan have been around over 100 years longer. Kansas State and Okie State are the same academically as Tech currently, yet are much older institutions and don't seem to receive any academic flack. It's pretty humorous. Texas Tech never had ANY interest or hope of joining the Big 10, yet article after article insisted Tech would have to be included with Texas and A&M. Oh well, Texas Tech is on the verge of becoming a Tier 1 research university within the next year. Now the question seems to be whether A&M will join the SEC or Pac 10. Yeah, don't take the redheaded stepchild title away from ISU. Reporter from Washington Examiner: #Kansas, #KansasState, #IowaState and #MO will talk to the #BigEast about an expanded #BigEast. about 1 hour ago via mobile web I can confirm that Kansas, Kansas State, MO. and Iowa State are starting talks with The Big East.A 12 team FB Conf & a 20 BB cinf. about 1 hour ago via mobile web

BTW, just to make it fun, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says that this could make him look into the tax-exempt status of some of these conferences. He's the chair of the Senate Finance Committee.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 06:43 PM) Holy Moly. The Big East adding Kansas would be crazy for the Basketball in that conference. 12 team football, 20 team basketball conference. Not just Kansas, but Kansas State, Mizzou and ISU have also spent time in the Top 10 in the last decade.

Official 2010-2011 NCAA Football Thread
Newest rumor is Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State and Mizzou to the Big East.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 01:28 PM) It's not about how good they are, it's about how many fans/tv viewers they can bring. Iowa is covered already. The only way Iowa St. gets an invite is if the Big Ten needs another school after some others have declined the offer. I know ISU adds no TV sets and is down the list of schools they'd want - but to say they bring nothing to the conference either athletically or academically would be flat out wrong. It's bad enough in this state with all the Hawk fans taking absolute joy in what will seriously hurt one of the state's schools.

I have no clue. Hell, there's even a radio station in Utah that's now apparently reporting the Big Ten will look to go to 16 and Iowa State would be one of the additions. Best case scenario would be a new Big 12 with Iowa State, Baylor, Mizzou, Kansas, Kansas State, BYU, Boise State, Air Force, TCU, Utah, Colorado State, New Mexico and UNLV.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 05:14 PM) That makes sense. Iowa State to CUSA or MAC? Too far away from Conference USA. Farrrrrr too big for the MAC. They are f***ed. Only scenario that works is that the remaining Big 12 members (ISU, Mizzou, Kansas, Kansas State and Baylor) take their new massive buyout checks and invite teams from the MWC that really want the access to our TV contracts, bowl tieins and AQ status. That and putting Dan Beebe on a plane to the moon.

Wow, not only does it come out that Colorado has no invite to any conference as of now, but APR issues may cost them both men's basketball and football scholarships.

Olney: Sox to start trading away vets
QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 10:19 PM) So nobody gives a hoot if Buehrls is just up n traded? It's almost like a "Don't let the door hit yer ass on the way out" mentality floating around here. Anybody else sense this? Everyone loves the guy, that hasn't changed. Just loving less what his numbers are.
