I think the mechanic considerations they are working with when running him out there as a starter are different when he is not attempting to extend to a starters workload. In his relief appearances he has looked like a completely different kid. Limited walks, higher strikeout rates, and I don’t think he’s even given up a run.

I think if the angels don’t get an overpay, they’ll hold onto him and trade him next deadline or in the offseason.

In his Charlotte starts that I’ve watched he has looked really bad. Any indication that he’s turned it around? It got so bad that I stopped watching about two weeks ago - wrote him off after that.

They have a surplus of position player prospects. They do not have a surplus of starting pitchers. Yes, they should be trading at the deadline and the offseason. They also should be active in free agency. Blah blah blah.

Yea I had no illusions that 3 runs was winning this game but I suspected we’d get to 5 or 6 and could hold them down below that. In another universe, they did.

Torrens for catcher was always the most likely play IMO. I think they want a defense first guy and know it will also all but guarantee a bump on the offensive side as well.

And it’s so sad too because in one of those games they were up 5 - 0 and tonight 3 - 0. Could have easily been 3 and 1 over the last four instead of 1 and 3.
