Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
Alrighty then folks… we have entered a new level of offseason pain. To help pass the time, I propose a community task. Using AI, illustrate scenes from the upcoming 2025 season. Think of yourself as the Stan Lee of White Sox lore with the ability to foresee the future.

Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/12/largest-contract-in-franchise-history-for-each-mlb-team-2.html Most expensive contract from each team in the league. No surprise, only one team in the entire league has a number lower than us. Care to guess who?

I am so bored without baseball.

Colson Montgomery - How long until he proves he is a MLB shortstop?
I tend to agree.

Colson Montgomery - How long until he proves he is a MLB shortstop?
Here’s the case for Colson breaking with the team, specific only to his offensive performance: - AA (Birmingham Barons): 27.9% - AAA (Charlotte Knights): 23.3% - AFL (Glendale Desert Dogs): 15.8% We know our staff now is focused in large part of cutting down strikeouts. If it is true that he was affected by some off the field issues, they may not be giving much weight to his AAA numbers… His AFL performance could be seen as him integrating those issues while checking some of our prerequisite boxes. With a strong spring training, they could have further confirmation and pull the trigger.

Colson Montgomery - How long until he proves he is a MLB shortstop?
This has worked wonderfully for years and has been a big part of contributing to our current situation… so maybe they call him up “while you still suck” and he gets buried… never to recover. Wonder how many examples of that are in our records?

Colson Montgomery - How long until he proves he is a MLB shortstop?
Dude would have to basically be the second coming of Dansby Swanson… and past him, the only other record I could find of a similar trajectory is from 1978. So I’m on board with you calling “someone” out. I’m going to call this season a win if we see growth throughout our organization, across all levels. In 2025 we really should be following 6 teams like never before.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
“Fat chance” clearly implies that even this bottom of the barrel organization will not dig deeper to this level of incompetent “logic”. Soxtalk needs to turn into Around the Horn until at least Spring Training… otherwise we’re going to continue blabbering on about complete horseshit. I clearly am in a wonderful mood. Horary!

We shall be gloriously awful again.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
The most recent podcast with Garfien explicitly stated that Boston’s existing MLB talent like Abreu was never even a consideration. We’re not even to Christmas yet and we’re already out of things to talk about… Our toxic collective addiction to this team drives endlessly discussing pointless drivel. My name is Trevor and I am a Soxtalk Addict. Where’s the inpatient clinic and residential detox program? TLDR: poop.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
They won’t be interested in Lux or Outman… unless the new shiny player development folk believe they can turn them both around… maximize their tools… and then have two high performing assets to trade instead of one. Fat chance.

White Sox hire Phil Nevin as Special Assistant in Player Development
From what I’ve been able to see so far, “numerous roles”… without any specifics given. I imagine Getz will make it clear in January when this is expected to be formally announced. How depressing is it that our franchise is in such a deplorable state that this is the most deserving topic of discussion. It’s going to be a LONG winter and a slow ass march to spring.

White Sox hire Phil Nevin as Special Assistant in Player Development
I’ll save other folks from having to get through the sun times wall… ” Nevin will be involved in numerous roles, including amateur scouting. The move is expected to be made official in January. It’s the latest new addition as general manager Chris Getz shakes up the Sox’ infrastructure, leadership and research and development operations. Recent additions include Venable, special assistant David Keller who is overseeing international scouting, director of hitting Ryan Fuller, bench coach Walker McKinven, assistant hitting coach Joel McKeithan and former coach and interim manager Grady Sizemore in the role of offensive coordinator.” There isn’t much more said.

Highly doubt the Assblows would effectively trade Robert for Tucker.

Sox Sign Bryse Wilson
Mined from the comments section of MLBTR’s article covering this transaction: ”Laugh at this move today, but someone investing in giving this kid a starting job and a season to see what he really can do is worthwhile. Look back at his playoff start against the Dodgers. Wilson has lights out stuff when it’s working, and is a great project for Bannister to work on.” Dude sounds like he is familiar with this Wilson cat - and if this sentiment is true, this is exactly the type of guy we should be signing.
