QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 09:15 AM) I guess this is a good place to post this. Michael Baumann at the Ringer wrote about the sox prospects. LINK What a fantastic read, thanks for posting.

He said a bunch of poop. Also said he'd like to do 4 or 5 more deals, that he had some youth volleyball games this weekend so anything happening likely won't occur until next week, went on to say - but ya never know. Talked about the necessity to add a lot more prospect depth - citing that things won't likely pan out with all the guys they acquired. Specifically touched on Moncada, Kopech, Giolito, and Quintana. It's worth a couple listens.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
hi8is replied to GGajewski18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (beautox @ Dec 10, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) Thats my take on it as well, it pushes this rebuild as a dark horse for '19 more so than '18, but thats fine if you're getting another TOR arm in Pint and a prospect on that same caliber as Swanson and Bregman but further off while still getting a major league piece you can stash at AAA for most of '17 in Tapia to see what if anything Tilson/Engel and Liriano are and if Avi has any chance at redemption. Yea that Rockies package is dope -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 10, 2016 -> 02:04 PM) 3 of them top 75 guys. Jesus. Pony up for Q or go away. -
QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 11:01 AM) Who is beating out Giolito and Lopez for the #4 and #5 SP spots? Shields and Fulmer? Also, didn't Boston already start Moncada's clock last season? If so, what's the gain to starting him in the minors? Service time clocks aren't continuously linear. If they hold him in AAA until late May or June, he'll be controlled until 2023 I believe.

Would I be upset? Absolutely not! Quintana will hold just as much if not more value at the deadline or next winter. Robertson is a candidate to rebuild his value and may also extract more during the deadline. Most of our other assets are of the same type. When the right deal comes along - one by one, they'll all be moved.

I'll miss Adam Eaton the player. I will NOT miss Adam Eaton the hawkism.

What a trip it is that he was selected the pick after Sale

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 11:22 AM) Bob Nightengale @BNightengale 1m1 minute ago The #Nationals tried to get #WhiteSox to expand the Adam Eaton trade to include closer Todd Frazier, but Sox refused, will deal separately Todd sure is a badass closer.

QUOTE (peppers312 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 10:30 AM) sounds like they aren't getting Robertson then. i think once Jansen gets a deal, we'll get a better picture of where Robertson ends up. You're vastly over valuing Robertson and under valuing Robles.

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+

It's also kind of a moot point with the Eaton return. -

Hector Santiago turned into Gio/Lopez/Dunning -
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 08:45 AM) Yes, yes, yes! But we already cleaned out their system lmao. So who do they have left that the Sox would want? Severino? Stevenson? Turner? I see what you did there

QUOTE (Ro Da Don @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 07:51 PM) The #WhiteSox kept asking for #RedSox 3B Rafael Dever in Chris Sale trade, but the RedSox refused. Compromise: Victor Diaz and Luis Basabe. Check out @BNightengale's Tweet: https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/806...0049196032?s=09 Glad that's clear now -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 07:18 PM) Larry Himes. Took over for Hawk. Sent Harold away. Traded all the starting pitchers.i think Fisk, Ozzie, and Ivan Calderon were the only guys he kept. He even traded Kenny Williams. Ah, right before my time of fandom. Around then I was in my baseball pull up diapers. Thanks for the insight. -

Guys... they've NEVER rebuilt like this. In fact, of Q is traded I won't be able to remember any team doing something like this before. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:12 PM) Robertson, Jones, and Frazier can bring something back too. Not anything top 50, but something. I beg to differ. -

#3 and #38 prospects in MLB and their 2016 first rounder. Good return, too bad we couldn't get Robles. -

Anyone know how I can stream just the audio from MLB network or some other radio station with coverage? I'm stuck driving all day. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 11:14 AM) And there we go... Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan 5h5 hours ago Chris Sale on Boston: "Realistic chance of winning the World Series. Dedicated ownership, front office guys committed to winning annually." Not a single thing wrong with any of that statement. -
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:13 AM) At this point I think Benintendi is more of a sure thing. OK you can peg me as one of those who liked the SSS of his ML debut as opposed to Moncada's. Moncada is the toolsier guy and we've seen how the Sox have coveted and failed with those types. Just wanted more of a sure thing for Sale. Moncada will have to prove he can hit change ups and curves. If he can though... watch out. If he can't... yikes. Exactly my thinking as well.
