  1. White Sox Announce Player Development Staff http://mlb.com/r/article?ymd=20161116&...ws&c_id=cws
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 11:03 AM) Rather have ERod than Kopech Both.
  3. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 12:53 AM) Removing swanson from the equation does those other pieces make sale worth trading for. For me no. That's where I hard disagree with Haymen... hell no. I'd want this from Atlanta... a gross overpay: 1. Swanson ( #4 prospect in MLB ) 2. Incarte 3. Albies ( #12 prospect ) 4. Newcomb ( #46 prospect ) 5. Maitan ( #89 prospect ) Pucker up buttercup.
  4. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 08:17 PM) Yes having swanson would be great but thats one piece. Yes to me maitan is very young and hasnt even played ball in the us. If you are taking 4 to 5 years away then alot can happen to him either actually making it or not developing into the player you thought he would be. To me i would want to be taking players that can compete along with swanson now or very near future not 4 or more years away. Plus maitan would have to develop in the sox system. Are you that sure he can with them. Tho do you really think the braves are going to trade swanson in the first place. If hes not even close to the picture then nothing to talk to the braves about - Jon Haymen http://www.fanragsports.com/mlb/heyman-bra...m-serious-time/

  6. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 08:02 PM) Ya i was kinda confused by that too. Both texas teams to me are at the bottom of the list for me. Even the rest of the guys were like both Texas teams are good to trade with. Outside of bregman i dont see much high end pieces for Houston. Rangers really dont have many exciting players. The really werent high on dodgers prospects after urias. Wasnt too thrilled with that podcast Only thing I could come up with was planted posturing for LA and BOS. I'd say that's possible but a pretty big leap of cognitive dissonance.
  7. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 06:25 PM) Listening to a CSN podcast with Bob Nightengale. Chuck Garfein asked about the trade being done before, during or after the Winter Meetings and he said after. He also asked a percentage of the chances it happens and he said 75%. https://audioboom.com/posts/5289197-ep-7-te...-for-chris-sale Dude called out Texas and Gallo as one of his main targets. The Astros were the other. What the f*** Nightengale. He also then threw out JBJ and Moncada in the same breath. Uhhhhhhhh. Seriously?
  8. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 06:15 PM) Maybe none of these teams won't overpay for chris sale. Which would be to say that Sale is getting traded to multiple teams, somehow.
  9. I see nothing but positive in waiting teams out. There are so many potential landing spots that competition and patience will be assets.
  10. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 05:14 PM) It seems like the trend is organizations are reluctant to trade valuable position players when it involves aces. They prefer to over pay for pitching in the free agent market. Shelby Miller and Dansby Swanson say hello.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 04:55 PM) Sox only deal with Yankees if Sanchez is involved in my opinion, and that's not happening Sanchez, Frazier, Torres, Mateo, Rutherford, and Severino.  Edit: In all seriousness, what do you think the Sox would have to offer to warrant that package from New York? Sale, Abreu, and Jones?
  12. It isn't even the end of November and this offseason already has a completely different tone than any other year that I've been a member of Soxtalk. It's gonna get bonkers soon.
  13. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 03:28 PM) Callis talking about a package from Boston of JBJ, Moncada or Benintendi, Devers and Kopech. That'd be a stupid good deal
  14. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 03:22 PM) A package around Odor, Mazara and Gallo would excite me Odor and Gallo don't fit the mold of our recent scouting approach - which I would expect to see in the pieces we're seeking in return.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 02:44 PM) Callis was on Score today and mentioned a similar package from Houston: https://embed.radio.com/clip/61211517?ref_u...3&r20id=391 I would mention that his were strictly hypothetical, no smoke. -Callis
  16. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 02:12 PM) Well i didnt post it in 3 different threads. I posted it here for twitter only post and created its one thread since it the first time that the braves are talking about it so ya So there! Ney-ner-ney-ner-nerrrr
  17. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 02:11 PM) Don't see Houston being willing to deal what it would take to get Sale They would be looking at a firm request of: Bregman, Tucker, and two more of Martes/Whitley/Paulino/Musgrove/Fisher/Cameron Or four more
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 01:07 PM) This is great insight. Thank you. He should easily win an award for that post
  19. Just look at how far our farm has come since 2011 and how far it is poised to move forward as well... http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article....articleid=15761
  20. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 07:24 AM) Dodgers Top 100 players from BA's mid-season list: 24. Cody Bellinger 1b Dodgers Leveraged lefthanded swing produces 30-homer power potential, while his glove draws Gold Glove raves. 25. Jose De Leon rhp Dodgers Limited to seven Triple-A starts thus far, he still misses bats with premium stuff. 44. Alex Verdugo of Dodgers Compact lefthanded swing has movements that tend more toward hit over power, and 20-year-old has .150 ISO in Double-A. 60. Grant Holmes rhp Dodgers Scouts who love him see a future No. 2 or No. 3 starter. Those more skeptical see a power reliever future. 82. Frankie Montas rhp Dodgers Rib injuries have ruined Montas’ season so far. He may not be much help in 2016 but still offers a very intriguing power arm. 98. Willie Calhoun 2b Dodgers Calhoun is proving he can hit. He’s got some work to do to prove he can stick at second base. Montas Holmes aren't in air system now.
  21. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 10:33 PM) I do think getting Walker Buehler would be really cool though. Not just because he's a transposed letter from being Buehrle, but because him and Fulmer were teammates at Vandy and I think it would be really cool for both of them to be reunited again. I mean, just look at the bromance here! http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/18082800/v152...ted-camaraderie Duh. Can't believe I missed him. Everyone should look at this site. After the Walker write up, there's a fantastic chart that profiles all dodger prospects.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 08:13 PM) The key really is to move those other 5 guys too for decent pieces, particularly Jones and Eaton. Otherwise, you're just the Dodgers farm system, with 3 Red Sox prospects. We really need to get about 15-18 quality prospects out of this. +1
  23. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 07:57 PM) Urias, Bellinger, Verdugo, Lux, Alvarez, and Puig should do it. People, you have to factor in that LA could/will probably offer Frazier a QO after the season too. That alone draws value as well. I'd be stoked on that package. Move Quintana to Boston then for Benitendi, Kopech, and Groome. How sick would our future look with Urias, Groome, Kopech, Alvarez, Benitendi, Berlinger, Verdugo, Lux, and whatever else we get from eventually flipping Puig. Then move on and trade Robertson, Melky, Jones, Abreu, and even Easton if you can get a haul. It would literally be an unprecedented rebuild.
  24. QUOTE (daggins @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 07:56 PM) Best or second best. The other guy plays for another team in the Sale sweepstakes, so that's nice. Giolato?
  25. So... serious question... how many of you think this thread will turn into 200+ pages of posts which eventually amount to nothing.
