QUOTE (oldsox @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 05:36 PM) PP34, how do you think that quintet compares to Bosox package led by either Benitendi or Moncada with Devers, Swiheart, and Kopech on the side? You'd have to include Groome for it to be apples to apples. As you wrote it, I'd take the Dodgers deal.
-
You could see anywhere Sale ends up going offering him a massive extension too. Dodgers could do that.

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 01:34 PM) Bob Nightengale @BNightengale 10s11 seconds ago The Washington #Nats among the latest teams to inquire on #Whitesox ace Chris Sale, but no serious talks with anyone yet YES. I love the prospects of trading with them.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 09:48 AM) I like the first 4 pieces. Edit: Scratch that; I like Barnes too. I guess Puig is fine as a last piece, throw-in guy but I don't see the Dodgers feeling the same way. Yea, well that was what my friend was saying... implying it was too much for the Dodgers to give up. I told him any deal for Sale would have to return "to much". ?

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 09:48 AM) I like the first 4 pieces. What's wrong with Austin Barnes? With Puig you have two years to turn him around and then trade him as well. Not sure we could expect more.
-
QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 09:25 AM) I'd prefer Urias, DeLeon, Lux, Bellinger, Barnes, and Puig as a throw in. A dodger nut friend of mine said, "I'd hate that deal".

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 09:20 AM) Sale AND Frazier? Give me Urias, De Leon, Verdugo, Bellinger, Lux, and Puig/Pederson I'd prefer Urias, DeLeon, Lux, Bellinger, Barnes, and Puig as a throw in.

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 07:23 AM) Well to be fair, its all the Sox have done for the past ~15 years. I think they'll rebuild (because they'd be fools not to), but I guess I won't really believe it until I see it. This

2016-2017 Off-season Plans (extensive)

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 12:18 PM) Add in back to back top 5, maybe number 1 picks and we're back. Exactly. I just don't know if we could literally get 18 prospects of that level or not. Who really knows what's realistic and what's not... aside from actual front office folks. -

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 05:45 AM) I like the effort you put into it too much to knock any of the trades. However you did trade for Benintendi but he's not a starter in the OF ? He's arguably the best piece you got from the trades and ML ready. I'd be so freaking stoked if this all happened. I'd gladly watch up lose 100 games in 17 and 90 in 18. -
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 10:44 PM) I'll toss in another random tweet speculation that I saw.... Someone said maybe the Dodgers cleared Howie Kendrick out of the way to open up a Sale trade in which Lawrie is added in. Find it hard to believe that they'd trade for Lawrie with his injuries but it's an interesting thought. Something more has to be cooking since a non tender announcement is pretty standard, unless I'm incorrect in that line of thought.
-
I don't even recall what his injuries were... groin and feet? Quad? Edit: it's hamstring, knee, and quad.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 06:28 PM) Rob Hill @real_rob2017 1h1 hour ago SOURCE: #WhiteSox have officially non-tendered Brett Lawrie making him a free agent. Odd

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 05:04 PM) It's cool. Just freeing up a spot for Alex Bregman. +1 I'm not familiar with Hustons farm but is a Sale for Bergman, Martes, Tucker, Fisher, and Whitely: A) Enough for the Sox B) Something Huston would even consider

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 05:01 PM) The idea of watching Carlos Sanchez ground out to 2nd base for an entire season makes me want to vomit, but hey....rebuilding! Oooooooooor, they'll be getting some top prospect 2b stud back in a trade.
-
If you're rebuilding, play Garcia as the full time DH. At least we have an ambiguous White Sox rumor from a credible source. Lion feasting and all. Love that kids intensity ?

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 08:18 PM) *One rival executive’s read on the White Sox: “I think they’re in the exact same place they were in during the summer. They’ll listen on everyone, but I think they’ll focus on trying to move the short-term guys first and then listen on the big guys — and ultimately not move the big guys.” The “short-term guys” are Frazier, second baseman Brett Lawrie and outfielder Melky Cabrera, all of whom are entering free-agent years, and closer David Robertson, who is signed through 2018. The “big guys,” of course, are left-handers Chris Sale and Jose Quintana. --per Rosenthal I'll literally vomit out of my asshole if we half measure this either way AGAIN.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 11:59 AM) I think he was the one who had a falling out with his source. Or maybe it was someone else. That may have been Rock Raines
-
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 11:20 AM) I don't think he is either. My preference is Swihart in all honesty and he might be the Sox preference as well. Who knows. Based on scouting reports I saw last year, this is accurate.
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 05:55 PM) MLB ready players in these trades, or trying to cause more confusion by not fully saying that the Sox are gonna rebuild. They're gonna try increasing payroll and making the big signings they never did before.
-
I wouldn't be at all surprised if "long term" success translated to large free agent contracts that this organization has never given out before. Sign Cespedes and fill all the other holes... or sell it all and walk away with the best farm system in history.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 03:29 PM) He actually said he would be surprised if it was centered around him. Incorrect. He said he would expect a Sale / Boston deal to center around AB. https://twitter.com/barstoolwsd/status/796122487914369024
